Hard bottom fishing - what is it and what lives there?

- Video from a spot named "8 MI TY" about 8-nautical miles offshore. This spot has produced fish for over 20-years and only recently have I really discovered what is down there. This video details what to look for in a spot, with glimpses at rock piles, ledges, rolls, and even a bit of sand.
Videos have been accumulated over the course of many years. Don't ask for the spot, I'm not giving it out :).

👍🏽👍🏽thank you! The dead/frozen bait in the cooler months is most definitely true in terms of grouper fishing.
Nice video what camera are you using and how to you get the camera down? Would you be willing to provide camera and equipment details?
Do you ever chum deep to concentrate the mangrove snapper or pull grouper off the rocks?
great info and video, what is the gopro attached to and how are you turning the camera. Also how are you viewing the footage while on the water
Probably a dumb question, but do you ever see lobster antennae on your go pro footage from the gulf?
How do you control the direction of the go pro underwater? what is your camera setup like? thanks
Hello from one Parrish person to another!
Great Video
What is the correlation between a snapper spot and hogfish being there?
Awesome vid, thanks!!
awesome videos!! can you do one with a tutorial on how you setup for hogfish? i see you catch some on jigheads, and some on a knocker rig.. would like to know what size weights/hooks and what jigheads you use.. thanks
I'm planning on doing a whole hogfish "How to" from the bottom to look for to the baits and rigging in the next month. When that is done I'll let you know!
ill keep an eye out.. i know there are hogfish where we fish.. i wanna catch some. finally got the mangroves dialed in now wanting to figure out the hogs
Hey its the Eggsuckindog from FS nice stuff
Hey Dixon, thanks! Good to hear from you!
Thanks for the go pro footage, but I clicked to read the meter. Your title should've been "go pro footage of the bottom"
How do you drop your go pro down for these vids?
Is this north of Tampa?
could you do a video on how your gopro is set up to record the bottom man would greatly appreciate it

Good Stuff
I know you will probably never see this, but one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen spearfishing, we where almost 100 feet away from the nearest structure and I made a drop down and saw a nice gag so I followed it for a while and it ended up leading my to a school of 20-30 gags from 5 lbs to 20lbs, pretty crazy to see so many off structure.
Luke Setam I read all my comments. That is pretty cool. Some of my best gag days I don’t think we anchored on structure but caught a few which brought in the entire school.
of course not ,, hell let the others burn lots of fuel for months to find just one fishing hole.
