Man that performance was out of this world. I enjoyed your performance very much. You song opined my mind and let me relax and just sift threw thoughts and all that has been on my mind. You are a Star and this made my weekend. I look so forward to enjoying more of your very Original songs. God bless you and your family.
craig has risen to greatness his new stuff is just as good as the old stuff and there's not alot of bands that do that shit in a genres and this guy does it just him and a guitar, but i think what it is that attracts us all to craig is that as humans we inherently love and admire true creativity and intellegence, wich all of was taken away from us early in our life but we will have it back soon.
after discovering candyrat about two or three years ago my musical priorities have shifted from electric metal guitar to almost completley acoustic finger style... i dont regret my decision.
it hasn't only changed my acoustic playing but i also play guitar in a band and me and the other guitarist are pretty aggressive, and i actually use alot of the techniques of craig antoine and andy in almost all of our originals, thanx for a whole new way to play guitar
@craigd19 I doubt you could possibly release anything short of pure brilliance. Thank you for posting these videos, it's such a pleasure to watch your raw talent in these single-shot clips. Eagerly awaiting that new cd!!!
this song is so so so addictive. i love it! it takes me to a place were i have been before but just cant put my finger on it, and i love the fact that it does that. somewhere dark yet warm, open and free, yet cozy and relaxed. amazing technique, amazing song, played with passion, how music was meant to be played.
i remember seeing him perform this when he played in Toronto with Dufour, and the leadup to the song and the song itself were fucking transcendental! I'm glad to see the album is finally coming out.
I think Candyrat has pushed this genre to new heights. I just bought some home studio software and want to get a few of my own songs recorded and shared. Not hoping to make it big, but I would have never switched to fingerstyle from flatpicking without influence from all these amazing artists.
Can't believe this song hasn't got more views. I really despise mainstream media for its fabrication of music. It completely undermines real talent, the talent of people like Craig D'Andrea, McKee, Gomm and Dufour. That's capitalism for you! These guys need the credit their due.
It's not paper but a piece of cloth, and yeah, it's meant to counter some buzzing of the strings. When he "slaps" for the hard downbeat, strings can vibrate and produce a note/harmonic between the neck and the tuner pegs. It also happens during hard strumming and tapping somewhat. The cloth dampens that out. You may also see some guitarists with a handkerchief tied around the neck in the same area.
If you mean the stuff up near the head of the guitar, i think thats actually a piece of rolled up cloth, and it is to stop the strings vibrating, which happens when you play with enough force, such as strumming. Antoine Dufour does it too, with his bandana. check out "Antoine Dufour FAQ" and he shows you the sound he is talking about :)
your amazing:) never stop playing. this is your thing:) i love your stuff, you have a unique style with your guitar. Never let ANYONE stop you from doing this!
Very nice evolution Craig, im one of the biggest Antoine Dufour Fan and this song reminds me of what he has done recently. My favorite song of Antoine is Reality and it is nice to see that another fantastic song is going out of the same guitar. Keep it up!
your right I think about Andy's influence. When I first listened 2:03 part I remembered fast about how the song called: 'The Friend I never met' by Andy Mckee starts. So nice song!
I think it's great how involved Craig is with youtube. I posted a mediocre cover of this song, but he still found the time to leave a nice comment on my video. I also see him replying to other comments on his videos and other people's. He seems like a great guy.
@TheGeorgeGuy :its a bit of cloth i think, its 2 stop the vibrations of the strings from going any further. its suppose 2 give a cleaner sound and stop anything from rattling
@craigd19 dont need any changes craig;) I was up all night waiting for your new cd "and the BLT's" and I must have been one of the first ten to have bought it on itunes:P I rly enjoy how your music is evolving youre still young and your music keeps getting better cant wait for your new album:)
@onixtheone Actually, it's to mute the strings from ringing past the nut. As the guitar vibrates the strings tend to ring, and it gets annoying when you're playing. It's the same reason why Antoine has scarves around the nuts of his guitars.
after almost 2 year of watching this video.. I notice that there's a big microphone in the middle, first time I notice! I was just watching Craig and his ridiculous hands playing the wonderful song!
check out - "everybody needs one" by Craig Andrea - sadly not on youtube but if u stick it into google u'll find it, its absolutely gorgeous my fav of his!! Its similar to this and "in with the purple..."
you're going to be so happy! I'm going to force key changes in every piece on my new cd. people that 'need key changes' are just saying that so everyone else thinks they can recognize them. I think I'll play the last chorus a step higher like the radio hits. Could be so cool, right? Don't need a modulation to make a piece of music good. Think of this like a pop music instead of a classical or jazz piece.
Kick ass Craigory! Love this tune, I remember when you were starting work on it a year ago when we were touring together. Beautiful melody, brother!!!
Anyone else still loving this in 2018? Such great melodies
yep
Without a doubt!
Still going in 2019
Craig is amazing! I still remember the day this video was uploaded. I was awe struck
2022 and i’m still listen to it!
I've listened to this song countless times and never noticed that. Well spotted!
That bend gets me every time. Sooooo good.
the way this song progresses is so wonderful...god that bridge just gets me everytime
it brightened my day. the music is the lyrics, precussion, bass, treble. the guitar is the singer.
I've been listening to this since it was posted..come back to it multiple times a year..what a piece
i can't stop listening...no words..no words can describe how i feel right now.
This is one of the most beautiful piece of fingerstyle guitar I've ever heard
This song reminds me of how wonderful life is.
The quality of these recordings will always ring in my ears so pleasantly.
Man that performance was out of this world. I enjoyed your performance very much. You song opined my mind and let me relax and just sift threw thoughts and all that has been on my mind. You are a Star and this made my weekend. I look so forward to enjoying more of your very Original songs. God bless you and your family.
Just bought the tab set. Craig D'Andrea is incredible - he's improved so much since his early stuff.
God bless Candyrat for finding and supporting true musicians
craig has risen to greatness his new stuff is just as good as the old stuff and there's not alot of bands that do that shit in a genres and this guy does it just him and a guitar, but i think what it is that attracts us all to craig is that as humans we inherently love and admire true creativity and intellegence, wich all of was taken away from us early in our life but we will have it back soon.
The feeling I get when I listen to Craig's music is indescribable. He has a god given gift.
after discovering candyrat about two or three years ago my musical priorities have shifted from electric metal guitar to almost completley acoustic finger style... i dont regret my decision.
Gets better the more I listen to it. Love the string bending bit.
it hasn't only changed my acoustic playing but i also play guitar in a band and me and the other guitarist are pretty aggressive, and i actually use alot of the techniques of craig antoine and andy in almost all of our originals, thanx for a whole new way to play guitar
Same..it's opened my eyes and given me a completely new feel to guitar..it's great!
Still haunting and beautiful. I love Craig's guitar.
@craigd19 I doubt you could possibly release anything short of pure brilliance. Thank you for posting these videos, it's such a pleasure to watch your raw talent in these single-shot clips. Eagerly awaiting that new cd!!!

this is fantastic!!!! I can not take my eyes off of your hands!
That's a true musician. Living for the music, not the music for him.
i remember seeing him perform this when he played in Toronto with Dufour, and the leadup to the song and the song itself were fucking transcendental!
I'm glad to see the album is finally coming out.

all your stuff is great. I lovvvveee that hook that brings me back and forth a few times during this piece.
Wowowowow! That song was amazing! hugely digged it. and that guitar is so beautiful, absolutely amazing sounnd, wow.
My new favorite Craig Song. I am definitely going to try and buy your CD
i bet i have listened to this clip atleast 10 times now... awesome
this is amazing man. all of you guys are the reason why i play finger style.
This song I feel is so under rated..it has been one of my favorites ever since I heard it for the first time two years ago
I wish I never heard this song.. so I could hear it for the first time every time!
Can't believe this song hasn't got more views. I really despise mainstream media for its fabrication of music. It completely undermines real talent, the talent of people like Craig D'Andrea, McKee, Gomm and Dufour. That's capitalism for you! These guys need the credit their due.
Hauntingly beautiful. Love it.
The intro reminds me of his song ''Canada sad'', the tapping part of Antoine's songs. Another beautiful composition, please keep em coming!
i'm going to see him live in 4 days. definitely going to buy his new cd. i love it
loved this one live at shank hall. new songs are great craig
man i love this one. the second half is just... perfect.
really good stuff. used to compose my own fingerstyle music but quit a year ago. need to get back into it!
Been a while since i have heard from Craig, awesome
It's not in stores anywhere. You have to buy it off of the CandyRat website.
Notice the Cannon in D bass line, it starts from 38 seconds. What a composition this is!
can we make these videos viral again??
Beautiful composition.. thank you
Really beautiful piece.
This is awesome. Your playing and composing has developed so much since your first album - I can't wait to see where you take it next.
Craig you are so good at playing guitar, and an ispiration too for all other guitarists like me, keep on doing this way :)
Speechless... This composition is powerfull.
Craig actually is coming out with a new album April 26th! He told me the CD's were looking really good too!
If you mean the stuff up near the head of the guitar, i think thats actually a piece of rolled up cloth, and it is to stop the strings vibrating, which happens when you play with enough force, such as strumming. Antoine Dufour does it too, with his bandana. check out "Antoine Dufour FAQ" and he shows you the sound he is talking about :)
absolutely great song. it puts me at peace
your amazing:) never stop playing. this is your thing:) i love your stuff, you have a unique style with your guitar. Never let ANYONE stop you from doing this!
its like the coolest song to watch and the most fun song to play!
Absolutely beautiful; I love it.
The people that play for candyrat records really love music. You can tell.
amazing composition Craig!
Craig, saw you play in Cleveland at Wilbert's downtown with Antoine and Pino. Great show, and I hope you decide to come back soon.
Very nice evolution Craig, im one of the biggest Antoine Dufour Fan and this song reminds me of what he has done recently. My favorite song of Antoine is Reality and it is nice to see that another fantastic song is going out of the same guitar. Keep it up!
That was amazing! Bravo!
Outstanding as always!
Another great song Craig!
sounds like a crazy bike ride!
Love your new music!
Best regards
Staffan
absolutely love chorus in this song.
Wow Shuyinz, I can't thank you enough for the heads-up! It's not on the tabs page, so I never would've found it :) Buying it right away!
Absolutely amazing
i don't know what to say.
That was just so amazing
absolute class and I think his best piece by far
5* amazing song
your right I think about Andy's influence. When I first listened 2:03 part I remembered fast about how the song called: 'The Friend I never met' by Andy Mckee starts.
So nice song!
Spot on. You can see that playing with the likes of Dufour and McKee has had quite an effect on his compositions and creativity.
I think it's great how involved Craig is with youtube. I posted a mediocre cover of this song, but he still found the time to leave a nice comment on my video. I also see him replying to other comments on his videos and other people's. He seems like a great guy.
Awesome song.I love this guy.He is Mr melody out of all the candyrat artist out there.
healed by a tone; thank you!
@TheGeorgeGuy :its a bit of cloth i think, its 2 stop the vibrations of the strings from going any further. its suppose 2 give a cleaner sound and stop anything from rattling

Haunting and beautiful.
Don't forget you can get it off itunes too ;)
its used to stop the strings ringing past the nut. antoine dufor uses a bandana for the same reason
Man ur music is easily understandable for even those who dont have a sense of music
the whole song rules, but the riff with the bends gets me! love that
@onixtheone Actually, it's to mute the strings from ringing past the nut. As the guitar vibrates the strings tend to ring, and it gets annoying when you're playing. It's the same reason why Antoine has scarves around the nuts of his guitars.
mmmm..luv this song..goodnight, Craig..wherever you are.
after almost 2 year of watching this video.. I notice that there's a big microphone in the middle, first time I notice! I was just watching Craig and his ridiculous hands playing the wonderful song!
2022 still unbeatable!
this is relaxing
thx for sharing, nice play
I think its a piece of foam used to dampen the strings past the nut and I beleive it helps bring out the harmonics a bit more to ..... I think :-)
soon craig your rise to power will be complete. you are the man and oh yeah good job on the song.
Craig D'Andrea uses Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze strings, buy them at www.candyrat.com/stringsandthings/
Love the string bending there duude!!! :D
awesome!
check out - "everybody needs one" by Craig Andrea - sadly not on youtube but if u stick it into google u'll find it, its absolutely gorgeous my fav of his!! Its similar to this and "in with the purple..."
so beautiful
it's all about practice and dedication. just as important though, put your heart into it and you'll be able to play it, even it takes a year.
You plays so beautiful!!!
& Well performed, the higher quality made a world of difference
gosh i love this song
you're going to be so happy! I'm going to force key changes in every piece on my new cd. people that 'need key changes' are just saying that so everyone else thinks they can recognize them. I think I'll play the last chorus a step higher like the radio hits. Could be so cool, right?
