American Airlines bad customer service

  • My issues dealing with American airlines on the lack of customer service.
    On my return flight from Jamaica. The plane was delayed that started the snowball of issues. Going through customs took forever, recheck the bag for domestic. Miss the flight because the gate was in a totally different and the Dallas hub is huge. Was on the phone for an hour was able to rebook a flight they told me it was at 7 am . Went to customer service to ask what they can do about a hotel and food voucher. They told me it is beyond their control they printed out my boarding pass which is very hard to read and lack of sleep. Came to the airport at 5 am. After security and going to find my gate found out plane leaves at 7 p.m.. talk to customer service again, they say that they would charge me a $75 fee to change my flight to an earlier flight. If they can find my baggage. I state it to them get me on the earlier flight let my baggage fly separate I will pick it up. They told me it's against corporate policy because it cost them money. The lady I was communicating with said it is beyond her control.
    We are not not powerless. We got the power of the people. Let's get traction on this, because this will not change.
