I've had more recalls on my MT-03 than every other vehicle I've had combined. You'd think Yamaha would know how to build motorcycles by now... and the most recent one is just ridiculous - it's for the rear reflector that's not reflective enough. I'd understand if it was new but I've been riding it for 4 years so I don't know how it's come up now. I've had my engine stop a few times in traffic when it was new but not for a while - no idea why but it seems to have worked out the kinks itself. It still has the occasional problem with hot starts though
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they don’t know how to make bikes properly. As to it more being lowering the cost of producing each bike. Especially the lower spec bikes.
My R3 as much as it was a great bike it did have a few problems and one of which was stalling hot or cold it would just cut out like someone hit the kill switch.
My R1 however touchwood has had no issues whatsoever.
