For those wondering why Rudeus doesn't recognize Sylphie, you have to remember that it's been years since he left to teach Eris in order to get funding for Magic School before the teleportation incident. Dude was like 7 years old when he left and there have been multiple time skips since then. Coupled with the fact that Sylphie's hair changed color and is forced to keep her gender a secret as a precaution to protect the Princess, it's not a surprise that he doesn't recognize her currently.
The fact that Rudy only knew Sylphie for a brief period of time in comparison with how long they have been appart actualy gets glossed over quite a bit 😂😅, Rudy was "friends" with Sylphie for, what? A year or two when he was a literal child?? And its been 8 years since they last saw each other lol

I'm impressed that they actually came up with good reasons why Rudy didn't recognize Sylphie. Most other reactors I've been watching have been like "why don't you recognize her". Miss Silent is referring to someone else, not Sylphie. You can hear them say the english word "silent" for "Miss Silent", whereas Sylphie is referred to with the Japanese word for silent or noiseless.
Even if Paul renounce his nobility. Rudy still carries the last name. Thus Rudy can be potentially an enemy to the Princess. So it make sense the identities aren’t revealed in the beginning

They also know that boreas family is taking care of rudy before so it is possible to think that rudy will be opposing them
@@kingsley2004 the greyrats have 4 branches and the branches support different princes/ princesses. notos serves ariel but there are two reasons for ariel and luke to be suspicious of rudeus. first paul left the notos family on bad terms so its very possible that paul raised rudy to hate the notos. second rudeus was raised in the boreas family for a while and the boreas family actually supports the prince that tried to assassinate ariel. theres also the fact that sauros (eris' grandpa) hated Pilemon paul's brother who is the current head of the notos branch and was very vocal that he believed that Paul should be the head of the notos branch not pilemon. its actually because of politics like this that when rudy was a kid living with the boreas branch they couldn't be public about rudy

Animating the same few buildings for three months worth of anime releases takes more effort and time, and wouldnt even be as good as an original intro.

Here's a little fact, Sylphie had always had that Dawg in her. In the novel, upon witnessing Rudeus being "abducted," she went on to attack Paul. It was a lovely detail in the novel, but in the anime it was skiped over. We did get a little reference to that "event" from Zenith though (Season 1 Episode 8).
The guy with black hair that was being an ass to Rudeus, Cliff Grimiore, was the kid that liked Eris during the special episode following Eris while Rudeus was depressed over his dad scolding him.

Some details were forgotten from S1 (and understandably so), but Cliff’s encounter with Eris was shown in the special episode from S1 where Eris went to kill Goblins. Also, (confusing as it is) “Silent” and “Silent Fitz” are two completely different characters.
9:05, hey roshi, just so you know, there are two people named silent at Ranoa, one being Silent Seven Stars and the other being Silent Fitz, in this case they are referring to the Former. Even in the LN it got kind of confusing at times, you'll start to understand soon since Fitz is usually just referred to as Fitz by her acquaintances.

(*copied from somewhere else*) A small thing about the little interaction between Fitz, the knight and Rudeus. 1) Rudeus will never be able to know who Fitz really is. This is where the novel and manga make it as mysterious as possible too. There's a reason why it is as so. The glasses she wears is a national treasure that blocks EVERY info of the wearer. Yes, nobody could dig of her information because of these godly glasses. The king gives her this so she can become a "male knight" This is to keep all info and also protect Sylphy. So yeah, you can't say Rudeus is being an idiot... This is something only a godly mage can see pass this info block. This is a "national treasure" class after all. Not some random cool glasses. Even Rudeus will lose to such tools. 2) The knight is the same family as Rudeus. He's under the impression that Rudeus who is the same family as him never remember him. That's why he's mad. However, he won't know that Rudeus had been living a life of a country side commoner. Of course, he won't know him! So, the knight throws a slang of Rudeus being forgetful. Another reason is this is the man Sylphy love. You will get why soon. It's a wholesome reason. TBH current in any magic battle Rudeus will always be the strongest unless they are at like Dragon God level. Why? With his prediction eye he can cancel every known magic in front of him. That's why everyone was shock. Rudeus gone too far and uses perfect magic cancel lol
I like how no one questions in the show that Fitz is in the female dorm... or why she even was doing the Princess' laundry to begin with... many clues to the fact she is indeed a girl.

The miss Silent that got mentioned is someone we haven't seen this episode. Despite still being a student she's already a high-ranking member of the magician guild. This is on account of reforming the curriculum, inventing and setting up trade routs for the school uniforms and inventing a bunch of new recipes for the cafeteria, including the karaage. I think all of this was mentioned in the novels at this point, but we might get to hear of her exploits later. What's important for now that miss Silent always refers to this person. Fitts will be referred to by name, as silent Fitts or as Ariel's guardian mage.
Miss Silent is literally named "Silent", While Sylphy is called silent in japanese, as a characteristic of her. It gets confusing in the English subtitles.
I went back to season 2 episode 3 when eris grandfather got executed and i just realized that sylphy ariel and notos was there and they showed them and i just realize they set this up to well

Fitz was "Silent" Fitz was an excuse so Sylphy wouldn't have to talk and give herself away in Asura, Silent Seven Star is a girl. - The last kid who brings up Eris and the ability to fight with the sword, was in a special episode of season one. While Paul and Rudy were having their Bar Reunion/Fight Eris went to kill goblins with that kid.

Different clothes (and style) You can't even see her hands. - Wand Argument: Only had a few seconds before the fight started. Future sight didn't help either. -Initial Meet Argument: Not only do the above apply, but she never said anything about recognizing him either
Just one thing, the "Miss silent" that Zanoba was talking about is not Sylphy/Fitz, it's another person, but the translation is complicated because both have silent in their names
Just to clarify as someone who speaks Japanese, most of these instances where the subtitles translate as "he" or "him" are actually genderless. A lot of times pronouns can be completely omitted in Japanese, so for example where they translated as "What soft hands. I bet he's never held a weapon," in Japanese that's やわらかい。剣とか持ったことがないんだろうか which literally means "Soft. Probably has never held a sword." When Rudeus said "Maybe those shades threw me off, and he's actually a great guy" in Japanese that was サングラスで誤解していたが、実はいい人なのかもしれない literally meaning "Misunderstood because of the sunglasses, but in truth, might be a good person." These aren't complete sentences in English without the pronouns, so I wouldn't say it was a translation error, just that some nuances get lost going from Japanese to English. The only thing that is gendered is how Fitz refers to herself as "boku," which means "I" but is usually used by young men.
There is Silent Fitz and Silence, Silence is the black-haired girl with the mask who was with Orsted, the name she uses in the academy is Silence Seven Stars if I remember correctly.

I have no clue why they made it confusing but it really doesn't serve any purpose so I'll just clear it up. The special student "Silent" doesn't refer to Silent Fitz (sylphie's alias), but someone else entirely. Ariel and her retainers, including Sylphie, are all regular students who pay tuition and are required to attend classes. If you listen to the japanese dialog they refer to the special student by saying the English word "silent", but they use a Japanese word to refer to Silent Fitz, so the confusing way it's translated is 100% the fault of the subtitles.
Roshi in case you don't remember some of the people introduced here... First is Zanoba, Lupa is right that they've met on episode 20 when he got lock up by that disgusting prince pax...Zanoba helps him escape by beating his own little brother (Zanoba is introduced as a Blessed Child that has super strength that's why he can lift rudues up like on 7:28 ) Second is the two Beast girl from doldia....on episode 15 we were introduced on ghislaine's family which her brother Gyes and his daughter( this episode introduced Gyes oldest daughter Linia....some people thought she's the kid we saw last time on previous season since they look th same but nope she's the oldest same goes to the other chick who's eating that chicken....you guys probably miss this because you were talking while they explaining who they were) Lastly is Cliff Griamore, you guys didn't remember him from the OVA? His the little kid who got a crush on eris after they just met. That's the reason why he know rudeus. P.S (about the intro, I think they just did that because from now on we will be staying on the school meaning they will have less have scenery to show for this arc)

To avoid confusion because the subs didn't explain everything, there are 2 persons with the name of Silent. one is sylphy called Silent Fitts and another student who is called Silent Seven Star. The one zanoba is talking about is the latter.
I think the reason they added the opening in this episode is because according to the author he said the main story of Mushoku Tensei begins in the Ranoa Academy arc. so they give the opening in this episode
You can tell they forgot a lot of season one, that scene where they were introducing those characters should've lit a few bells, Linia Dedoldia that delinquent character said she is the daughter of Gyes Dedoldia which is Ghilaine's brother from the Dedoldia Tribe, and Cliff Grimoire the self proclaimed magical genius is the character that you guys met in the OVA episode about Eris, he professed his love to Eris only to be turned down because Eris already had eyes for Rudeus, Cliff is probably envious of Rudeus as shown by how he speaks with him in the episode.

The reason why Luke seems so tilted is actually because he's surprised Rudeus did not recognize Sylphy (since she never told them her hair was originally green, which would have made them afraid of her due to the Superd curse). So Luke is watching this dude thinking "bro how does this man not recognize a white haired elf is he an idiot"
Watching reaction from this channel is more fulfilling and enjoyable because they keep their knowledge from previous episodes mostly intact. While from others, I found many that can't even detect that Sylphy purposely hiding her identify with question such as "Wait, she didn't know Rudeus either? Why?". among many other details that flew their heads.

@@jimbo9881 The intros were always used for the purpose of worldbuilding, and the school arc lasts like 4 volumes, which is at least 12 episodes for the anime. Animating the same few buildings for three months worth of anime releases takes more effort and time, and wouldnt even be as good as an original intro.

Here's a little fact, Sylphie had always had that Dawg in her. In the novel, upon witnessing Rudeus being "abducted," she went on to attack Paul. It was a lovely detail in the novel, but in the anime it was skiped over. We did get a little reference to that "event" from Zenith though (Season 1 Episode 8).
The guy with black hair that was being an ass to Rudeus, Cliff Grimiore, was the kid that liked Eris during the special episode following Eris while Rudeus was depressed over his dad scolding him.

A small thing about the little interaction between Fitz, the knight and Rudeus.
1) Rudeus will never be able to know who Fitz really is. This is where the novel and manga make it as mysterious as possible too. There's a reason why it is as so. The glasses she wears is a national treasure that blocks EVERY info of the wearer. Yes, nobody could dig of her information because of these godly glasses. The king gives her this so she can become a "male knight" This is to keep all info and also protect Sylphy.
So yeah, you can't say Rudeus is being an idiot... This is something only a godly mage can see pass this info block. This is a "national treasure" class after all. Not some random cool glasses. Even Rudeus will lose to such tools.
2) The knight is the same family as Rudeus. He's under the impression that Rudeus who is the same family as him never remember him. That's why he's mad. However, he won't know that Rudeus had been living a life of a country side commoner. Of course, he won't know him!
So, the knight throws a slang of Rudeus being forgetful.
Another reason is this is the man Sylphy love. You will get why soon. It's a wholesome reason.
TBH current in any magic battle Rudeus will always be the strongest unless they are at like Dragon God level. Why? With his prediction eye he can cancel every known magic in front of him. That's why everyone was shock. Rudeus gone too far and uses perfect magic cancel lol
I like how no one questions in the show that Fitz is in the female dorm... or why she even was doing the Princess' laundry to begin with... many clues to the fact she is indeed a girl.

The miss Silent that got mentioned is someone we haven't seen this episode. Despite still being a student she's already a high-ranking member of the magician guild. This is on account of reforming the curriculum, inventing and setting up trade routs for the school uniforms and inventing a bunch of new recipes for the cafeteria, including the karaage.
I think all of this was mentioned in the novels at this point, but we might get to hear of her exploits later.
What's important for now that miss Silent always refers to this person. Fitts will be referred to by name, as silent Fitts or as Ariel's guardian mage.
Miss Silent is literally named "Silent", While Sylphy is called silent in japanese, as a characteristic of her. It gets confusing in the English subtitles.

- When he says the last student silent, he was referring to student called Silent Seven Star, not Silent Fitz. Fitz was "Silent" Fitz was an excuse so Sylphy wouldn't have to talk and give herself away in Asura, Silent Seven Star is a girl.
- The last kid who brings up Eris and the ability to fight with the sword, was in a special episode of season one. While Paul and Rudy were having their Bar Reunion/Fight Eris went to kill goblins with that kid.

Just to clarify as someone who speaks Japanese, most of these instances where the subtitles translate as "he" or "him" are actually genderless. A lot of times pronouns can be completely omitted in Japanese, so for example where they translated as "What soft hands. I bet he's never held a weapon," in Japanese that's やわらかい。剣とか持ったことがないんだろうか which literally means "Soft. Probably has never held a sword." When Rudeus said "Maybe those shades threw me off, and he's actually a great guy" in Japanese that was サングラスで誤解していたが、実はいい人なのかもしれない literally meaning "Misunderstood because of the sunglasses, but in truth, might be a good person." These aren't complete sentences in English without the pronouns, so I wouldn't say it was a translation error, just that some nuances get lost going from Japanese to English.
The only thing that is gendered is how Fitz refers to herself as "boku," which means "I" but is usually used by young men.
"Miss Silent" is another character yall haven't met yet...well you have but you just don't know it.

I have no clue why they made it confusing but it really doesn't serve any purpose so I'll just clear it up. The special student "Silent" doesn't refer to Silent Fitz (sylphie's alias), but someone else entirely.
Ariel and her retainers, including Sylphie, are all regular students who pay tuition and are required to attend classes.
If you listen to the japanese dialog they refer to the special student by saying the English word "silent", but they use a Japanese word to refer to Silent Fitz, so the confusing way it's translated is 100% the fault of the subtitles.
Roshi in case you don't remember some of the people introduced here...
First is Zanoba, Lupa is right that they've met on episode 20 when he got lock up by that disgusting prince pax...Zanoba helps him escape by beating his own little brother (Zanoba is introduced as a Blessed Child that has super strength that's why he can lift rudues up like on 7:28 )
Second is the two Beast girl from doldia....on episode 15 we were introduced on ghislaine's family which her brother Gyes and his daughter( this episode introduced Gyes oldest daughter Linia....some people thought she's the kid we saw last time on previous season since they look th same but nope she's the oldest same goes to the other chick who's eating that chicken....you guys probably miss this because you were talking while they explaining who they were)
Lastly is Cliff Griamore, you guys didn't remember him from the OVA? His the little kid who got a crush on eris after they just met. That's the reason why he know rudeus.
P.S (about the intro, I think they just did that because from now on we will be staying on the school meaning they will have less have scenery to show for this arc)

To avoid confusion because the subs didn't explain everything, there are 2 persons with the name of Silent. one is sylphy called Silent Fitts and another student who is called Silent Seven Star. The one zanoba is talking about is the latter.

I think the reason they added the opening in this episode is because according to the author he said the main story of Mushoku Tensei begins in the Ranoa Academy arc. so they give the opening in this episode
You can tell they forgot a lot of season one, that scene where they were introducing those characters should've lit a few bells, Linia Dedoldia that delinquent character said she is the daughter of Gyes Dedoldia which is Ghilaine's brother from the Dedoldia Tribe, and Cliff Grimoire the self proclaimed magical genius is the character that you guys met in the OVA episode about Eris, he professed his love to Eris only to be turned down because Eris already had eyes for Rudeus, Cliff is probably envious of Rudeus as shown by how he speaks with him in the episode.
Silphie must have the daintiest hands in the whole world, because this just keeps happening.
Don’t forget, the magic he used against Sylphie was disturb magic which was also the same Orsted used

The reason why Luke seems so tilted is actually because he's surprised Rudeus did not recognize Sylphy (since she never told them her hair was originally green, which would have made them afraid of her due to the Superd curse). So Luke is watching this dude thinking "bro how does this man not recognize a white haired elf is he an idiot"
Watching reaction from this channel is more fulfilling and enjoyable because they keep their knowledge from previous episodes mostly intact. While from others, I found many that can't even detect that Sylphy purposely hiding her identify with question such as "Wait, she didn't know Rudeus either? Why?". among many other details that flew their heads.
