    Retired Mytag man here, 1st..hated any service call in an RV or motorhome..lol.. mainly because of the space constraint especially if either unit needed to be removed..uhg.. but the H20 error is almost always a slow fill, long fill the control unit wants the water level satisfied in a certain amount of time. This is usually caused by either low water pressure coming, an inlet hose not fully opened or one closed or a syphon condition caused when the drain hose is shoved too far down the drain pipe allowing water to drain out as it is filling also the drain pipe should be as close to as high as the top of the machine itself. If you can access the drain hose you'll only want 6-12 inches inside the drain pipe just make sure it's secured with zip ties so as not to pop out when draining or during travel. Happy RVing enjoy the channel.

    I had a Splendide vented combo washer/dryeriin my2000 Bounder MH and I loved it. You get used to just how many pieces you can do at one time and it is so nice to just take them out at the end and they are dry and ready to fold and put away.
    On caveat: never get an unvented unit or dryer. You can wait all day and the clothes will never finish drying.

    • @snakemain
      @snakemain 3 роки тому +1

      I've got a similar unit in our travel trailer. For us, we usually just run the wash cycle, then pull the clothes out and shake them out, then put them back in to dry. Otherwise, they tend to come out wrinkled. Currently we live in Europe and have an unvented dryer. The "efficient" washer takes a couple hours, and then the "efficient" dryer takes a couple more hours, at least!

      I have the combo too. I wouldn’t go without one in our motorhome ever again. I just do small loads every single day but anything is better than wasting time at some sketchy laundromat.

    Once in awhile, it pays to put your towels thru a wash cycle with white vinegar rather than soap! Towels tend to hang on to a residue of soap and over time will get stiff! You will be pleasantly surprised with the results! They will be much softer!

    I should begin by saying we have the Splendid brand washer and dryer in our 40' 5er, so I'll be speaking from experience.
    Couple things that you didn't mention that are absolutely imperative...
    1. You MUST HAVE YOUR GREY TANK VALVE OPEN when you are running your washer. I know people who either didn't think about this or thought they knew how much water each load created. Both ended up with water on the floor of their RV.
    2. There is a 1-way spring valve 'thingy' in the drain line so don't ever try to 'roto rooter' the line if you think it's clogged. You'll break that 1-way valve. I don't know anybody who has done this, but I read about it in the RV directions when we purchased it new in 2017.
    3. This was mentioned in another comment but I thought I would repeat it here... Don't shove the drain line down far enough to where you can see Chinamen. Just put it in there easy like. You'll also want to secure it with a large zip tie because those Splendid washers have some pressure on the drain hose; at least ours does. The very first couple loads we did I watched it closely throughout the entire cycle. The drain line seemed like it was going to shoot out of the hole so I zip tied it and that satisfied me.

      Good to know. Although, WHICH Grey Tank? Kitchen sink or Shower? Thanks!

    • @TrailTrackers
      @TrailTrackers 3 роки тому +2

      @@AC-Cowboy41 : Well... If you have more than 1 and your washer is in the front of your unit I would say the front one. Vice Versa if it's in the rear. At least this is how mine is set up with washer in the front and it drains into the front grey tank.
      edit: If you're still not sure (because all units could be somewhat different) I don't think a drop of blue dye down the washer drain hole would hurt anything. Then you would know for sure.

    • @AC-Cowboy41
      @AC-Cowboy41 3 роки тому +1

      I have this exact set-up, mine is in the Grey tank in the back combined with the shower, but I’ve never had to open that Grey valve while doing my laundry… I can do 3-4 loads before I have to dump the tank, but if it does overflow it just comes up in the tub… I’ve never had water leak in the trailer 🤷🏼‍♀️ But every trailer is different so it definitely is better to be safe than sorry

    I have that same washer and dryer in my fifth wheel and I love it. I was really surprised on how much I can put in the washer. I live in mine full time and wash a week’s worth of clothes at one time. I Usually set the timer and have the wash finish just as I get back from Worth to the camper. The dryer is awesome. I just didn’t like cutting the hole for the dryer in the side of a new camper. The spin cycle shakes the camper more than I would like but I am sure if I put less clothes in the washer it wouldn’t shake as bad. The washer and dryer by far are the best upgrades I did for my camper.

    We’ve had a combo washer/dryer in our last 5 rv’s and I love it. I find you can wash double the amount of clothes than you can dry at a time. I like to wash, take the clothes out and shake it out before drying. I found the dryer would “dry” the clothes out and leave it wrinkly even when using a dryer sheet. I now use wool dryer balls and they work perfectly, with the clothes being soft when they come out of the dryer.

We called the RV dealership that installed our unit and they said it might had a air pocket in the line or pump itself. After our first use it never read H20 again. About 6 years ago we lost our house to a house fire, and we lived in a Georgetown Drive RV for about a year and a half after that my mom had a washer and dryer hook up installed in it she got tired of having to go to laundry mats and rooms of RV parks, best thing she ever did anyways she got a full size front load Samsung front load washer with the matching dryer put in the first bathroom. So it doesn’t necessarily have to just be one of those brands you can actually have one put in or you can make your space bigger if you would like to get a different washer and dryer. But yours seems to be doing fine. Ours gave us the same problem the first three weeks we had it in because there was stuff in the waterline. All we had to do was wash it out. Literally LOLThere was a small washer and dryer hook up in the second bathroom but she had that taken out and a small closet put in for her dresses. She’s from Scotland, so she was big on religion and being well dressed for church. But she also needed her washer and dryer.Also regarding your detergent? As long as it has the HE on it it does not matter what brand you use. That’s just a suggestion really.

    I believe the reason the doors of the washer and dryer are hinged on the left is because if the doors were ajar and the sliding door was to close, the sliding door would pass by the W&D doors without hanging up on them causing damage.

    We had two Splendides. One in a motorhome, a combo, and loved it; had no problem at all. The other was a stacked unit in our 5th wheel and again no problem. You do have to be careful when putting in detergent, about 2 tablespoons is sufficient. Put too much in and the washer actually quits and you have to pull it out and have it thoroughly cleaned. Too much detergent clogs it.

    One of the main considerations when I get my toy hauler 5th wheel is that it have W/D prep. I have to have it, because it is hard for me to use laundromat's because I am horribly allergic to tide as it is full of fillers and I can't control what the last person put in the washer at a laundromat. The worst part is the soap goes away, but the fillers in Tide hang out to contaminate my clothes and give me a horrible rash! So when you said you were just going to use Tide, my skin crawled really bad! I am like, "OMG! Why would you put that in the machine!" That said most soaps in general give me a horrible rash so it is just me! Still every time I see Tide, I shudder! Yeah, the same goes for bars of soap. I can't even pick one up to move it out of my way! LMBO! Life with weird allergies!

I have looked at many different RV washers and dryers and couldnt find anyone to send me parts. Its at the point that I wont even look at them anymore. My advice .... buy name brand COMMON appliances for your rig. If they dont fit... dont install something else.

    We've had a Splendide combo (all in one washer/dryer) for 3 years now. My gripe is Montana put the electrical outlet and the hot and cold water connection behind the washer. And our electric chord did come unplugged once. We have to pull the washer all the way out to get to the connections in back. And our wsher will get a 'vent obstruction error" about once a year. And the solution is to pull the washer part way out and disconnect the vent hose and squirt water into the washer. So I built a table that sits in front of the washer so I can pull it out. Our's sits about 18 inches off the floor. I also cut a small access door in the closet wall so I can reach behind the washer. So with a double-stack imagine you had to pull them out to put in a new vent hose or water hoses. Or to plug your electrical connection back in for either unit. Other than that, we wouldn't be without ours. No more spending a half a day in a laundry mat and it reduces the pile of dirty clothes sitting around. Just wish they had a sensor that told you your valve for the tank it drains into was closed. Love your video of your experience. Which tank does your washer drain into? Do you have 2 gray tanks or 1?

    Miele makes a washer and dryer ventless dryer stackable unit that only needs a 110 outlet that can wash and dry in 2 hours does a great job.

    Rather than force Splendide to alter their component design, why not have VL design an appropriate cabinet for it?
    BTW it’s “splen-deed”.

      There are many RV manufacturers, many floorplans, and many potential locations for the W/D. It would be helpful for appliance manufacturers to design their products with reversible doors.

      Dave & Laura Phillips Part of design is integration. I do component integration for a living. Form, fit, function are just as important as reliability. If that WD doesn’t work, find one that does, or re-design location. Just like the TV and fridge issues. Lazy...

    We have virtually the same set. We have ours for over three years. Did have to replace the dryer due to lint issues, even cleaning the lint filter.
    I always use 4 (it’s one hour), with cold water and 600 rpm for the spin.
    Never got the “no water” warning. And I never leave the rig when it’s running. It’s not a heavy duty unit but it’s availability in the rig far outweighs the pain of going to the laundromat. The dryer takes awhile to get things dry.
    But honestly, if it said 1:22, it will take 1:22. The timer is dead on.

    What are the procedures for winterizing the washer? I'd be interested in whether that adds considerable difficulty in getting the camper winterized for storage in cold northern climates.

      Texas Guy in the brands defense, the host has mentioned several times (you might have missed this) that this RV was delivered directly to the host and was NOT put through the normal “PDI” pre delivery inspection process. So mast if not all of these minor issues would have been caught and addressed by a dealer. Even with a dealer PDI, I’ve found from experience that you will experience issues with every brand no matter the cost. Even a new home has issues that the builder has to address. Having said all that, there have been quite a few issues.

    The Splendide ARWXF129W washing machine is not getting water. You will need to make sure the hot and cold water lines are open. This sometimes happens when the hot water is turned off because the machine needs to mix the hot and cold water to make a warm water temp.

    Ive watched videos of rvers using the upright stacked units instead of the front loading washers. From experience I far prefer the top load washers; clothes come out much cleaner than any front load. also i used 1.5 tablespoons of dawn 4x blue dish soap in my full size washer; it cleans great and PLENTY of suds in a full load plus WAYYYY cheaper than regular clothes detergent and SO much smaller to store. great on collars cuffs n stains too.

    I have the same set in my 2019 road warrior and If I knew then what I know now I would have went with a different brand. The washer works great but the dryer constantly has a heat issue and even with 3 bath towels it gives off a weired smell. I've made sure it wasn't a water issue from the resort and also followed the weight limits for the unit. My set will be on the curb soon and will be replaced by whirlpool.

    FINALLY!
    The first video I have ever seen in how long that I've searched for RV/Mobile laundry Systems, talking about it.
    Why?
    WHY don't beeble TALK about RV/Mobile laundry systems and choices to do laundry in RVs, laundry-SOAPs FREE, i.e. the used water needn't be harmful to throw out anywhere.
    Am I the ONLY one pondering these things?

Also, we seem to be experiencing a leak into our RV storage/garage area and believe it’s coming from the washer, but we have no idea how to access the back of the washer to see if anything came loose. Thank you!

    JD....I have a question off topic....I currently have an F350 SRW and am using a PulRite 20 K auto slide hitch to pull a Montana 3120. Gonna buy a newer F350 DRW, and wonder if I can use the same hitch in an 8 ft bed. I know it's not needed in a full size bed, but hate to have to buy another hitch. Both trucks have the "puck" system, so it would be a plug and play swap. Any downside to a slider in a full size bed?

    Thanks for this video. Seems all washer / dryer / dishwasher manufacturers feel the need to offer so many options for cycles. How about just wash & rinse? Do all those options really make a difference? Nice note from another to leave the gray tank drain valve open. I normally leave the gray tank valve open all the time, except a day before dumping the black tank, so the soapy shower water gray can chase the black and rinse the drain hose well. Seems simple enough, but many folks do not know to do this and end up with a stinky mess.

    How hot would you say the clothes were outta the dryer? Did they take forever to dry? Our new Beacon’s Spendide dryer isn’t great. I called The number on the dryer sticker and they told me to call some RV repair place. I called them and they won’t call me back. I will stop trying if it’s just not a great dryer. Maybe a bad heating element, buuuutttt.....
