Carv announced they are bringing back some training modes this month literally as I was finishing this video up today! I am looking forward to checking that out soon. For early releases and bonus content, join my new membership :) ua-cam.com/channels/PTUS5SfU4MaAsuuXX3Lb9g.htmljoin
I'm no expert but your skiing on the groomers looked quite good to me :) I never found the active coaching much help as it's annoying to get instant feedback on every turn. Instead, I use the ski IQ to track how I'm skiing on every run as I work on a new movement mechanic after a physical instructor's feedback.
I appreciate your point of view! I have carv 2 (no experience with carv 1) and have had similar thoughts to what you shared. I’ve been skeptical of wanting to renew it come next year. It’s been in my mind to take a lesson but I was hoping carv would be able to help guide me in “how to do xyz”. Some of the comments have been helpful but I guess I was hoping for a bit more. Hopefully the training modes they bring back would make it more appealing for me. We shall see, I liked your video though!
There was definitely more guidance in Carv 1, and more specifically feedback based on how you are skiing, not just generic advice on the terrain or focus metric. The training modes will start coming back as soon as next week!
Definitely miss the training mode from CARV 1. I can only leave the turn by turn feedback on for a few runs on groomers, or it starts to bother me. For everything else I have it talk to me when I stop. You can go in and change the terrain type after you ski a run if the app gets it wrong. Keep up the great work!
Right?! I feel like it gave so much more actual feedback based on how you are skiing and the concept of leveling was amazing. I honestly wish the leveling was more emphasized vs skiIQ. Good to know about being able to change the terrain type, didn't know that.
Angelina, would you like me to video you for a run or three? My wife and I live in Summit and ski frontside Key and Super Bee and west at Copper. I ski solo a bunch as well. I ski slightly better than you so following and video will work fine. I have CARV but don't have someone to video so I really don't have knowledge on how to sync phone video and CARV. So if this sounds good... let me know and we can set up date/time. My IQs are usually in the 125-135 range though I am on wide skis so CARV will downgrade my ability level.
Thank you for the offer! I should enlist my husband more, but I try not to bug him or others with filming. Regardless, would love to ski a lap or three together. Shoot me an email :)

In 11:03, I think thirty something degrees is the median of max edge angle in your run. Carv use median number to represent the whole run.

Great stuff. Thanks for taking the time to make and post. I reckon your skiing is good 👍
Thank you!
Hello Angelina, what a pleasant surprise to see another video from you. Happy skiing!
Thank you!! ☺️
