    Ast is the time mage, sorry to say we're not likely to see that, AST actually heals by reversing / speeding up time on the wounds.

      Yeah, the Diurnal Sect is the time mage, reversing time (regens) slowly to heal the wounds and the Nocturnal Sect, to me, uses the stars to foresee the impact to come (shields).

      "Lightspeed", "Time Dilation" (essentially "Extend"), "Stellar Detonation" (kinda, since it's a time bomb), "Gravity" (a traditional Time Mage skill in the first Tactics game).
      I agree with you: AST is essentially the Time Mage. All that it's missing is "Haste", "Slow" and "Stop", although "The Arrow" kinda replaces "Haste" without being too OP.

      AST as time mage really dawns on you when you use celestial opposition and time dilation on a party member that already has a +200% time royal roaded card. You can literally apply like 70-80 second buffs with that. So, yeah, AST is definitely time mage in more than one way.
      Also, using the arrow with 150% effect boost on a bard with high skill speed using army's paeon is like a frick'n worldwind, my guy. Especially when the tank does a big dick pull and they go all AoE. Brings a whole new meaning to haste.
      Contrary to popular belief, expanded balance ISN'T THE ONLY SET OF CARDS TO USE. This is especially notable in 4 man content, where each person is mathematically worth more than one person in 8 man content. The key to AST is knowing how the other classes function and what works well with them at what times. (There's that time theme again) Expanded balance is definitely good. But, sometimes, you can get significantly more from your cards by putting more into one person, especially if that one person is significantly outperforming the rest already.

      Leukos I just picked my astro up again from 60 and when I saw that. It's truly left me wondering if geomancer will indeed be a new class to come. My only worry is wouldn't a geomancer lend itself to further bloating the dps role line up?

      Since ffxiv is the only FF game I've played extensively, I wasn't familiar with geomancers one bit. Ever since seeing its incorporation in the astrologian questline, I fully support it being a healing job. I desperately want more green and blue options, lol. Enough DPS.

    When he was talking about Red Mage and Samurai, Yoshi-P mentioned Oracle as a Healer in design that they discussed. So our next healer is very likely going to be an Oracle, much like how he mentioned Samurai was in development in HW but they finished and released Dark Knight instead. Geomancer was talked about in the AST Questline, as having the same basics of AST, but they also seemed to do more damage with their spells, but they were all about using Bole (Earth) to increase defense, Balance (Fire) to increase offense, Arrow (Wind) to increase Speed. I'm sure we'll be getting Geomancer, and it'll end up being a Healer with the same Card styled buff system of an AST.
    I think next expansion we'll get a Magitek Knight, like Gaius, and Forbola and it'll be a Tank using a Long Sword, no Shield instead having self barriers and technology to fight. Our Healer will end up being Oracle.

    Even though rare in the FF universe, Druid and Necromancers are (rare in mmorpg in general) usually very unique roles and very unlike the regular caster/rangers/meele classes out there.
    Where Necromancer will be somewhat a meele summoner dps or tank using dead mobs in dungeons to boost their skills/combos.
    Druid would be a shapeshifter using nature like magic (Wind and Water or earth most likely)
    it wouldnt be comparable to any other role yet, therefore I wonder how they would do one in the FF universe.
    But yeah id like to see more of these two roles in mmos and also done rightly cause usually they are poorly executed (Necromancer GW2 as an example).

    Geomancer is pretty much locked in. Literally pushed in every AST quest in SB. As for dancer, im not seeing it all too much, but if it is, it will most likely be DPS.

    I really want Geomancer as a utility healer, more so than Scholar and Astro, using Bells for a short range AoE ranged attack, and a elemental ground aoe for breaking, buffs/debuffs, and a bit of a heftier support class. I also thought of Blue Mage as a DPS, just because, to me, you can't have BLU without Grand Delta.

    yeah there should be an extra tank/healer and dps added to stormblood, and upgrades to the auto-attacks, and basic game areas/monsters with the coming of each expansion that they forgot i hope soon we get something like the other guy said, geaomancy, and other improvements.

    Since 5.0 will be in Garlemald, I think they probably add the Gunblade class as a DPS and hopefully a Gunshield class as a Tank. Both classes were used by Garlean. Nero was the Gunblade (later on) and Gunshields by Rhitahtyn sas Arvina.

    Blue mage would be a amazing tank and i know how they could do it
    Rename it to Azure Shield and their only weapon is a large shield. Yes a large shield called the Mimic Shield. When ever attack or they block a attack they can counter attack to launch a powerful emity move. Now they would have a basic emity move. Maybe like a evil laugher

    I can't see BLU as a tank mainly because I can't see a "mage" wearing all that heavy armor. If anything, I could see it as a DPS working like RDM in reverse, and wearing the scouting set.

    wonder if they will come up with mystic/sage from Grand Fatasia as the new class, animal MORPHING. wolf dps, eagle mage, and gorilla tank, base/human form healer. that would be amazing! 1 job, ALL THREE ROLES, give them trees or hotbars based on what transformation they are. with their own set of skills for each animal with like 4-5 skills per role.
    or (and i know yoshi doesnt like this but) split rogue into a THIEF JOB. i wanna steal stuff!!!!!!!!!

    Blue Mage could just learn it's skills from class quest monster hunts. That's easily solved.
    It won't be a tank. It makes little sense based on the job's history and lore.
    If it's true that they're only adding two per expansion now, then I would expect a tank and a healer for 5.0. DNC as a healer and Rune Fencer as a tank. Personally I expect BLU as a dps to be added also.

    Square said they're not adding any more jobs anytime soon. It's too much of a hassle for them, and for the servers. I wonder if people realize that FFxiv has a very small team working on it and people should be happy that they even give the event patches and mog station stuff.

    I have a feeling theyre going to cycle between releasing 2 dps and healer+tank, for the future expansions.
    They have already said making 3 jobs every time isnt something they would like to do afaik.

    Still want a Rune Fencer, maybe having some gameplay mechanics similar to Maplestory 2's Rune Blader with elemental buffs spells changing your base skills. Rune Blader pretty much changes from Fire (high DPS), Lightning (AoE), and Ice (Crowd Control/Defenses). I could see it working for RUN, as they can't use the FFXI elemental defense and weakness system.
    As for weapon, I guess it'd have to settle for some other kind of bladed weapon (why did DRK have take greatsword!?). They could just change it up, and maybe give them the gunblade that people have wanted for a while; maybe making them a combination of Judge and Rune Fencer, for a neat thematically Garlean Job.

    I don't think that they will put in an dps in 5.0 only tank and healer. Just because it's really hard to put in 3 Jobs and provide a good expansion as big and good as Stormblood.

    I'd rather a real thief instead of the garbage you get before Ninja, but honestly I'd rather them not worry about new classes and fix some of the aspects of the game, like PVP make it so you can actually kill mages since they are more tanky than tanks and more DPS than most DPS. Would love a more tradition end game than just the same normal dungeon crawling like some good armor sets from S rank hunts that you have to work to get. Would love if crafting had an equally top shelf set of armor that could compete with the rest of end game armor to make crafting more worth it.

    You throw out poisonous food and debuff enemies, buff allies with food. Heal allied with food. Have a potato gun as a main weapon.

    I think they are really dropping the ball by not adding secondary souls to existing classes. Berserker as a pure dps soul for Marauder for example. It works well with Scholar/Summoner branching off of Arcanist so why not more?

      I agree completely but I remember reading that Father P has said that he doesnt wanna add any more classes like that due to them being incredibly hard to balance if they share any kind of skills.

      Actually, it was because of SCH/SMN that Father P didn't want to do that anymore because, like the comment above me stated, it's difficult to balance since if you're adjusting ACN skills, you're actually adjusting both of the jobs at the same time.

    I realize I'm asking too much with this, but I wanna see the rest of the starting classes get the Arcanist treatment (namely, they get a second Job that plays a different role from the base).
    Marauder: Viking (DPS)
    Gladiator: Runefencer (DPS)
    Conjurer: Geomancer (DPS)
    Lancer: ??? (Tank)
    Archer: Uh... (Healer)
    Thaumaturge: Time Mage (Healer)
    Pugilist: Blue Mage (Tank...we'll figure out positionals somehow)
    Rogue: Dancer (Tank)
    ...Okay, so I couldn't think of much that wasn't already listed here, and most of the alternatives were something I couldn't think of at all, but...still.

    Well...
    1. Geomancer, as a magic casting tank would be more interesting than it being dps
    2. Dancer, as a melee healer is something that I have been thinking about too, and I like the idea of building off of the ninja mechanics for dancing
    3. Runefenncer... just no. I like the idea but we have too many sword wielding jobs already, I really think we need a whole expansion as a break from swords.
    4. Time mage... unfortunately also no the AST job is already heavily inspired by the time mage. We don't need a new job we just need more time magic in AST.
    5. Blue mage... no again sorry. I agree with the devs ffxiv is not the place the blue mage. But I love the idea of it having the tank as a role

      I understand you want diversity but a LOT of jobs use swords. of course a lot dont as well. but nearly none of the extra job weps fall into same category of weapon.

    When you look at the lore of the existing jobs, geomancer and time mage are incredibly unlikely to be added into the game. All of the class quests for conjurer lay the ground work that the healing magic they use is geomancy by a different name, and this is made further concrete through the Stormblood Astrologian quests as you work alongside a geomancer who uses things practically identically to the way a conjurer does.
    Astro also has the same lore as a part of its methods of healing as what you described for time mage, namely reversing time on the character to before the wounds existed. Add to that their time dilation, celestial opposition, and several other skills, and they basically are so close to time mage that it would be hard to distinguish them. Also the groundwork for them being the same as time mages was hinted at even in ARR, go check out the outfits the astrologians wear in First Dicasterial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena. Purple robes, sugarloaf hats with stars and moons on them....
    Dancer I wouldn't be surprised to see, but there's also a lot of history of the job fitting into the role of a melee support DPS job, and would be easily able to be slotted to share gear with ninja. That said dancer healer has its own share of support too.
    One not mentioned here I've heard talk of is the chemist healer, which would be able to provide a fresh take on the job as being non-magic based.

      Technically Summoner is just a Neon Necromancer. (I have been away for a long time) During the questlines for SMN I remember they talking a lot about using the Essence of the Slain primals to summon new creatures (The Egi?) and/or to use the Essence to perform new attacks and so on. SMN also have spells like Bio and Miasma that could be really close to anything Pestilence based. If you darkened the colors of a SMN you'd have a Necromancer :D There are also spells to weaken your enemy and strengthen your allies that more or less a Necromancer should have the ability to do, as they are able to manipulate the essence of Death (I am not sure how it'll tie in with FF Lore). And I know that there are more direct dark spells but it is a little unlikely sadly. Hope that brightens your day though, just do what I did and put some Cultist robes and mask on :D

      if they would do a tank that seperates itself from the established formula, right now it's oh a tank buster? better go tank stance and pop some CDs (or imunity altogheter)
      maybe like a dancer who avoids damage rather than mitigating it through CDs.

      Because that don't sound op at all, tank who can avoid dmg 100% yeah, sure. Also whoever uses CDs and imunity together, is idiot. The tanking in this game works on CDs, either like it or hate it, but ffxiv is best tanking mmo i ever played. Another reason why, is that Tank can do BIG amount of dps if he's good. I wish we could get tank like PLD/DRK combined. In def stance he would have PLD skills, in offensive DRK skills etc. Blue mage sounds... imposible to do in mmo. Or too op that will break the game orrrr underpowerd so badly, nobody will even notice the job is there

      maybe not avoid 100% of the damage but avoid a certain % of it, yes i like being a tank but having everything run of the same mechanic just turns out bland in the end, imagine if every DPS was exactly the same, how quickly would everyone just jump ship to the top DPS? bard couldn't do any songs to buff raids or anything etc etc.
      i'm not suggesting that it avoids the 100% of the damage but just simly some of it, would still be CD based but i guess it'll give it a different coat of paint if anything.

      I really hope BLU is a tank, a lot of people speculate BLU will be a Garlean-based job (artificially created, similar to how BLUs are made in XI, since garleans "made" an artificial Echo in XIV) and Garleans tend to wear kinda tanky-looking uniforms. Also, might give people that gunblade job they want.

    I'd love a a new tank.
    But what I want most are classes that put a new spin on their role. Something like a tank that instead of buffing themselves for defense, instead has systems that debuff enemies to make them weaker against the tank.
    Or a DPS class that works off a death by a thousand cuts motif, focusing on plentiful DOTs with low instant damage output.
    Just something new beside what's standard right now.
    Similar to how RDM works now, it'd also be cool to see a gunblade class that works like a combination of ranged and melee dps. Wether it's sustained melee and burst ranged, or sustained ranged and burst melee.
    With that being said, a class that fights with a bo stuff would be cool. A two weapon fighter other than ninja, using longer swords than just daggers. Always thought a Cleric like healer that actually engages enemies in melee while healing would be cool.
    And I'll never get a game that has a class for a saber fencer.

    I think Viking as a tank with hammers makes a lot of sense monk gives blunt debuff and is currently the only class to benefit it.

      Yes please to hammers.... or literally any job other than monk that uses the blunt debuff. Shake up the meta and give us a tank that synergies with something other than ninja.

    I was personally thinking perhaps Beastmaster as a Whip-wielding melee DPS that could maybe take elements of the animist's varied support-y toolbox while letting their pet do some of the big hitting. the charm mechanic could have a proximity based teather thing going on, or we could simply have pets that are something more similar to Final Fantasy XI's jug pets if they don't want to go that route.
    My idea for a helaer is that we maybe get a chemist Soulstone that lets Ambelics be used as a right and proper 'weapon', with on-battlefield salve mixing, tossing, and making AOE potion 'fountains' that maybe provide incredibly potent regen when stood in for the duration of their fizzing.
    I also think if we get another tank job, it should be an evade based tank of some sort, ala' the accidental situation that happened with Ninja in Final Fnatasy XI. I don't know what form this takes, but I was personally thinking that might be what dancer is or something totally new.

    But I don't think they'll make 3 new jobs, I think they will (and should) add only DPS for a few more expansions. But I'll play it:
    * Viking (from FFIII) as the new tank job. Uses a hammer and lightning magic.
    * Blue Mage or Mystic Knight (aka Spellfencer I guess?) as DPS.
    * The completely new and unexpected job will be healer. Pharmacologist maybe.
    I don't think they'll ever make a dancer job because that's a lot of cutesy glamour that could go to crafting or the mog station.

    Ok so Yoshi-(D?) is pretty straight forward with hints, and as a person who follows this shit religiously I can tell you:

    No way. Geomancer wouldn't fit because of the lore. Dancer (your healer definition) wouldn't fit because dancers don't wear healer robes and they likely aren't going to make a new line of gear JUST for one healer. Blue Mage isn't likely to hit the game until it's last stretch UNLESS they completely rework the whole concept more similar to Raubahn's original dual wield sword design. Time mage is a small possibility, but Ast was supposed to be (and kind of is) the time mage of XIV. Rune Fencer is a massive nope due to how similar it is to RDM and we already have 3 caster DPS.
    Also they specifically said they aren't doing three jobs ever again. Two is more likely and one is a possibility because they are getting lazier/budget cuts. Healer and Tank are likely all we getting for 5.0.
    Based off them trying to fill in low pop roles (Tank/Heal) and unused gear sets (NIN/DRG) as well as some in game notices, or best guess for tank is a hammer user based on Nero's design. As for healer it's likely going to be a reworked job concept like how they *tried* to make DRK a tank. Green Mage is the most likely as our next healer imo. There's no point looking for what DPS for 5.0 because there won't be any, but the next DPS will fit into NIN/DRG armors

    Just a few thoughts.
    I'd rather see them use time mage as a caster variant to bard/machinist. including skills like hp/mp reverse, or a something thematic for it's regen skills. and add a solid pure dmg range physical that competes with the casters. like a cannoneer, or bomb specialist type.
    As for the healers idk how they would implement another one currently. we already have whm for king of AoE, sch for king of MT (with AoE shields for planned usage), and ASTRO for the speed run healer (lower AoE, lower ST, more party buffs). While i do agree a melee healer could be viable, it couldn't use a 3 rotation combo like other melee's. Unless they made all 3 of the combo's like a cure 1-3 and 3rd being a temp party buff. since you'd need to play exactly when your using a combo. unless designed similar to monk where it's a stance base (dancer anyone), and you can use any one of 2-3 abilities per stance based off of the situation.
    Bringing me to my 3rd thing i'd like to see. a melee bard/machinist which uses the 3rd hit for a temporary party buff. Playing around the maintenance of these buffs as the core mechanic (would work as another spellblade, or melee blue mage concept.) This could pan out as a possible 3rd tank with the mitigation being an active mitigation style with less cd's and more consistent uptime at lower%. for both an offensive and defensive style. SE could even play around how raids work. where it's major (60-90 second +) cd's have an effect based off of stance (like warrior, but to an AoE degree with a party buff instead of higher personal dmg/survival). While this could hurt the tank in maintaining dps stance when holding the boss, it'd be offset by buffing the entire party's dmg for speed runs or as an off tank primarily.

    Unique job should be Rune master, healer that uses glyphs and symbols to heal/ protect against the elements and geomancer could be good tank that wields giant hammer with Bell's attached lol

    There's no way they will make it a healer with the astro already out.
    How can I say, it's like if the SCH wouldn't exist and you'd say "they'd make a new summoner like job with which will be a dps"
    There would be some redundancy
    Also, beside 1 or maybe 2 healing spells (which often are renew and autorez), Time Mage has never been a healer in any given game. It has always been a support with some dps skills. like, DPS has never been the entire focus of the job, but when support spells weren't needed they could always ditch some demi or gravity or meteor.

    What if they add a Knight that dual wields Moogles using pistols? ^^ Dancer should get a pole weapon.....
    If we go to Garlean, can see a gunsword job, but if we got Thav, there must be a reason they added a consulate for them in Kugane, DNC.
    I'm in 2 minds about another expansion in succession having Garleans as the primary focus again. TBH, Id like next xpac to go to Thav and we leave the Scions behind and go to our base roots of being an adventurer.

    I got the paralysis status effect when you said the game doesn’t really have a DPS/Support character. What about Bards? They have the ability to play the DPS/Supporting role via traits and songs. They may not be as supportive as we all would like but they are, bottom line, a DPS class. So I’d have to disagree with you there, however this doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to see another supporting DPS class, who can support in other ways than buffs.

    Ok, my opinion on the subject is divided into 2: class-based and role based
    role based I wanna see a new tank, and preferably one that does NOT have a stance system /one that is a DoM(highly unlikely unlikely) and a new DPS, specifically a melee ranged DPS, we have 2 of them, and to me it personally feels like this archetype could use some love
    class based, I was thinking Gambler, not sure how it can work without rng screwing you over, but hey, dice and cards are cool weapons if you ask me

    my idea was a Tank with a "Sword Cylinder" similar to Zenos fighting style and Technique, for Example having different swords wielded grant different buffs, attacks, etc, and pulling a new blade out after a cooldown would cause a certain ability, buff debuff to trigger, and you get to the learn the class from Run away Garleans who want nothing to do with the Empire, story basically, they will teach you in trade you help them find a place to civilized, but the other nations, and/or main job baddy keeps persuing/ and or stopping them.

    I think runefencer is basically gonna be the new gunblader class, and the way you described it, enhancing their attacks with the elements. In the trailers we were shown that Thancred is the posterboy for the gunblade, and it might just be that Thancred (who is now "SPOILER" unable to cast magic) could just be using a gunblade in conjunction with bullets enhanced with various elemental crystals to still be able to use magic to an extent....think of it as kinda similar to the hunters in RWBY using bullets made out of dust of various elements to enhance their attacks.
    And if you have played FF8 , I am sure you know how the gunblade worked, it didn't fire bullets persay, instead, the bullets enhanced Squalls cutting technique, the same way this could work in FF14 is with the gun reload system from machinist, you load different kinds of bullets into the gun and then as you attack, the different bullets give varying effects, but unlike the machinists reload system, it wont function on that shitty cooldown, but more like the dark knights dark arts, as in, you use a reload skill weaved in between your rotations to release devastating combo effects, and seeing as they are removing the TP bar and making it all into one single resource pool, this could work very well. Share with me your thoughts.
    As for what classes are going to be released, I think battle chemist is a potential class, if you have played 4.4 prelude to violet, and saw the rather gruesome effects of the black rose gas, and as Gai*cough* Shadowhunter and Alphinaud set out to put a stop to it, a Garlean rebel coming up with countermeasures against the gas, and creating a whole new class in the process.

    I think Blue Mage is going to have to wait until they rework the job system to allow jobs to queue up as different roles- like maybe the warrior wants to DPS instead of tank, or the white mage wants to spec for DPS instead of heal.
    It would be best, imo, if when selecting Blue Mage you chose which role you wanted to take- DPS, Tank, or Healer. And your stats were adjusted to fit the choice, and you were given some staple blue mage spells attuned to that role, along with the role specific abilities to choose from that we have now. Then of course you should be allowed to choose from your list of blue magic to make combinations to further enhance your character and play Blue mage the way you want to.
    I still believe that some of the base classes in the game could get a secondary job, and thus, role, one day.
    Arcanist is both Healing and DPS, and the only class to perform like this currently.
    It would be interesting to see Marauder have an off-shoot, say- DPS role, as Berserker ?
    Rogue would make for a good Thief, a more stealth playing and trick shot and money snatching dps role, and they may even want to move Ninja into a tanking role one day.
    and maybe you could pull something completely unrelated out for Lancer and let them branch into a healing role as a Chemist or something.
    I was really hoping that by Stormblood they would have started looking into giving players more options to queue up as different roles, and maybe even consider editing things to make room in the party for support roles and modifying some jobs to perform more like true supports- sure they can still offer damage, but more utility would be packed into their kit for buffs and debuffs. But at the moment, it seems like they're just spreading little buffs and debuffs among all the jobs.
    WoW's talent trees did a good job making their classes feel more open to different interpretations, not locked into one specific function, druids being the most diverse of the lot. It would be nice if FFXIV could offer something like that, even though we are blessed to not require "Alts" any time we wish to change job. It just comes down to grinding more than one or two jobs up, I guess.

    Time Mage... Really? We have astrologian already that has time/space magic...
    SE wants to go with jobs having a unique flavor, that's not going to happen if 2 to 3 jobs are just copies of other present ones adapted to a different role.
    There's also no pirate because Marauder is basically that.

    I kinda feel like Dancer(healer) would be hard to add do to the fact that It would all be AoE based an that is kinda hard to work around cause in a boss fight or moments were things go wrong the dancer would kinda struggle Because AoE heals would be weak since they're not meant to be as strong as single target heal... when I first played dancer in FFXII I saw them more as a Support helping out the healer when the healer ran out of MP or died... or helping the DPS do more dmg or helping the tank out take less dmg by debuffing the enemy... So Imo I rather have dancer be a support/dps job cause tbh they don't fit the healer role at all... I mean think about it dancers seem more like a CC kind of fighter using fans to distract an control there enemies by disarming them or something... Idk what its called but I think the dancer class was inspired by Fan martial artists I guess.... Anyway I do hope Dancer gets added But not as a healer... There are other jobs that can do that roll...

    I would love to see either Shaman or Dancer as a healer. Dancer is probably my favorite class out of FFXI and I would love to see it come to 14. I thought Shaman would be coming in Stormblood as they introduced Krile, whose outfit reminds me of Final Fantasy III shaman/devout costume. As for the tanks, I would love to see a tank with a flail, mace or a morning star. If they release a dps class, I would love one with a chain whip or range/melee class with fans.

    I think Dancer would fit better as a support DPS, since it would have to be melee to make sense. A melee healer would be difficult as having to be constantly on the boss and also needing to heal as needed would make targeting a nightmare, that is the reason healers are typically ranged, so they can cast and don't need to move as much. It is possible to do but would likely be a nightmare to keep balanced with other jobs, and as they add more jobs its going to make it harder to keep all jobs balanced in each patch.
    Blue mage though is a given, and as a tank makes sense. I think it would be kind of an offshoot of summoner, just instead of egi's attacks form kind of temporary egi to make the different attacks and then they dissipate. The same kind of visualization of summoner entering dreadworm trance.
    For the actual healer, time mage does makes sense, but my vote goes to Onmyōji (or some name inspired by it, like spiritualist). It would of fit fairly well in my opinion to stormblood, being that they kind of glossed over after 63. The ruby princess in a lot of ways resembles one and it would not be to hard for them to expand that story into spiritualist job quests. Basically a healer role using talismans and shikigami.

    I don't see why people keep begging for Dancer as a healer. It would fit more appropriately as a support melee, like how Bard is a support ranged. Bard and Dancer usually seem to be like opposites in the games, where Bard would buff the party while Dancer debuffs the enemies. I think Bard would've been more appropriate as a healer over Dancer, but it's a support dps instead. If they do implement Dancer, I think it'd work more like how Rune Fencer was described in this video.

    I'd rather see spellblade as a dual sword dps where their skills/spells are attacks infused with different spell damage effects. As for something new I wouldn't mind a range DPS that is something like Rinoa Heartilly, someone who switches between spells and a chakram. You might want to also mine Bravely Default for jobs as Yoshida was also a part of the developement team for those games too.

    there's 1 job that's been in game since 2.0 (if not sometime during 1.0, idk didn't play 1.0), and that's Gunblade. I am sure this job prob will not make it ingame till we go to invade the Empire as that's where all the Gunblades are.

    Personally I want BLU to be in the game, but a whip just doesn't fit and they would have to have heavy armour as a tank. This messes with the crafting side of the game.
    BLU as a dps would work fine with whip and leather. But idk probably lots of other things yoshi is thinking of but eh.

    I think geomancy and dancer will definitely be next but I feel like there are already so many jobs in the game, what's the point of adding more? I'd rather have more customization in the jobs we have then whole new jobs. Maybe like branching skill trees within each job. I wud like that :)

    5.0 prediction that starts with a DPS whose role was already teased to be a healing one. We will first of get a tank and a healer for 5.0 and geomancer is set in to become a healer if ever released.
    You just ruined the videos credibility in the first minute by missing commonly accepted information that are already present.
    ... I just wanted to watch on... But time mage and astrological in one sentence should make you stop and realise that the astrological is FFXIVs version of a time mage. And I fail to find any evidence for this to not be the case.
    A melee mage is impossible if you would consider how many troubles the balance team seems to have gauging around standard classes. Without a immese fund increase there is literally no way for that to happen.

    I hope the next expansion leads us to Garlemald and we get a Judge inspired class, with gunblade and magitek armor (so basicly like the legates of the imperials).
    I could put my whole concept in here now, but I guess this would be to long.
    Just say I want them as Tanks, because I'm a tank scrub and need my thick armor and be able to shout at me healer to give me more cookies all the time.

    I'd really like to see blue Mage as a DoT tank with a team magic damage buff so it's harder to hold a pull, but ramps damage in the later half of rotations.
    Things like poison breath and flame breath and add in some spice so the resource could be used to build explosion charges.
    and job quests could be to actually take damage from a certain attack then kill the monster, with later quests having dps allies that test your holding ability.
    I see so many things that can be done with blue I got kinda disappointed when they said that bluemage would be hard to implement.

    Theres probably going to be another mail wearing job to balance out DRG being the only job that doesnt share gear with other jobs, minus accessories of course. With that in mind if the story progresses to the Garlean Empire, maybe we get defectors from the empire and get Magitek Soldier as a job. Judge is a possibility but theyre most likely to be a tank and share tank gear

    I'd just like a job like thief or dancer based on quick moves and crits as dps or evasion as tanks. Or a real pet job where the pet does most of the work like beastmaster or summoner from old FFXI, not the micromanaging thing we have right now. Or even a healer like a chemist or alchemist, tossing potions and elixirs at their teammates.

    gunblade dps
    astro was wholly new, even if it took some inspiration from gambler corsair and oracle. Machinist was a huge refinement to the engineer/cannoneer archetype we have had for ages without an identity. I'm glad both of these jobs have appeared in other games already

    I think they've been hinting at new classes with the "heroes" you meet. Like Lady Yugiri as Ninja and Alisaie as Red Mage. So I believe at least one of the new classes is going to be a hammer wielding tank like Nero.
