In a time when Canada's PM claims to want to educate Canada on the First Nations, it tales a SWEDISH power metal band, signed by a GERMAN label, to teach me about the most awesome Natives in Canadian history. The man almost received a DCM, was one of the first Canadian soldiers to receive the Military Medal (of which he was awarded multiple), and actively tries to get back on the frontlines of war after an injury. It makes me so happy to see a song about a Canadian soldier because I am Canadian and we did some amazing stuff in both wars! Also, I am glad to see you shedding light on our Native heroes in WWI. Far too few (including myself) know about their courageous actions. I once read--now I may have this wrong and will welcome a correction--that Francis Pegahmagabow was the fastest courier the Canadian regiment had, if not the fastest of all the regiments in the war. I love this channel! I am learning so much!
I've been at home whole day sick, trying to survive, and then, the e-mail notification arrived...I'm really grateful for this episode, made my day better. Especially Frosty, the snowman. 😁 Thank you for the story, a piece of history again I wouldn't know about without you guys. I find really impressive that Francis fought for indiginous rights after the war. And the song...well, we can hear only a few seconds in the video, but I love it already. ❤
I was thinking about Primo Victoria with the 75th anniversary of D-Day but as a sniper in video games, this is interesting to hear how this tactic came and how it worked from years before and how it worked in the later years. I only hope that a song about the other sniper of your repertoire will also get a video very soon. But this is good stuff. And I'm more willing to listen about this tale. And learning about this individual is making this something else. What I hear from the song, sounds awesome.
I'm Canadian, from Montreal, and honestly don't know much about Canadian military history. I had never heard of Frances prior to watching this. I'm really happy you guys were able to tell this story, it's a truly remarkable one. I hope you'll continue to dig into Canadian military stories in the future.
I have a degree in history, and around a hundred history books in my house, yet somehow I never heard of Francis Pegahmagabow until watching this video. What Sabaton and the team running this channel are doing by writing these songs and telling these stories is awesome.
I am so very very grateful as somebody who is casually studied history for the last 30 years with this new group of UA-camrs that is taking history so very very seriously and doing an absolute excellent job presenting it to us. I am so very grateful
D-day was a big allied party, bro. USA, UK and Canada on the beaches, and the US and UK from the sky. And those are just the major players. A lot of work done by the French resistance and under cover operatives, too.
My great-grandfather was a sniper too. He served in the Greco-Turkish War of 1919-1922. Walked all the way from Anatolia to Athens carrying a fellow soldier who was wounded. Sad he died before I could meet him but, then again, he would be 119 years old now. He was also the best hunter (and the best shot) in the whole island and (I bet) one of the best in the whole country.
I was expecting Something from Carolus Rex because today is Swedens Nationaldag. Either way amazing episode and an incredible story! Also those 20 seconds from the new song was breathtaking!
Hey Sabaton History, If you guys and Indy record and release "Frosty The Snowman". I will bloody buy that cover. Power metal. Indy. Sabaton. Let's gooooo.
I presume you'll be playing this one on the Canadian leg of the tour! I learned about Francis Pegahmagabow not in class, but because I turned into a voracious military history reader when I was a kid growing up in small-town Alberta, first learning about WWII from my grandparents who grew up in Germany during the war, and my great uncle who was on the Eastern Front. Then I cracked open some books from the library, read them all, and started tracking down every military history resource I could get my hands on. Then the internet became a thing, and I got to learn even more.
Today in my country is hero celebrating day!(I dont know in the rest of the world)! And I want to say Thank You to all soliders and heroes from the whole world!
Hey ihr lieben Jungs von Sabaton #RESPEKT for this new song and Indy for tell the history 🤘Dankeschön.Freu mich auf Thursday to see your film from Plzeñ.LG Alex 🤘🍻

Especially Frosty, the snowman. 😁 Thank you for the story, a piece of history again I wouldn't know about without you guys. I find really impressive that Francis fought for indiginous rights after the war. And the song...well, we can hear only a few seconds in the video, but I love it already. ❤
Get well soon my friend
@@TwoStrokeViking Thank you!
☝ White Death LG Alex 🤘
I thought the same, but in their last video they changed my mind...
What an absolute legend.
Frosty the Snowman is now a Sabaton song. I've seen it all.
I'm Canadian, from Montreal, and honestly don't know much about Canadian military history. I had never heard of Frances prior to watching this. I'm really happy you guys were able to tell this story, it's a truly remarkable one. I hope you'll continue to dig into Canadian military stories in the future.
Gotta have frosty the snow man featuring Indy on the album now lol
How does this guy not have a biopic at this point?
There was a movie called The Ace and The Scout
Indy is the best. He is a typical American somehow, love him for who he is and his historical expertise
HELL YEAH! I did a report on this guy for my high school history class, he's fascinating dude
17:31 You had too much cognac to drink there, did you ? :D
Yes. Yes they did. But now i need the official version
Changed but not broken... yah he was the definition of a warrior may he rest in peace.
I can't wait for Tommy's (Sabaton) debut song. From the snipets it sound good already!
Pegamahgabo perfectly illustrates the difference between a soldier and a warrior.
So hes basically the WW1 version of Guts (Berserk) - the 300 man killer?
I have a degree in history, and around a hundred history books in my house, yet somehow I never heard of Francis Pegahmagabow until watching this video. What Sabaton and the team running this channel are doing by writing these songs and telling these stories is awesome.
Thanks, and glad you learned something new.
I am so fu*king hyped about the new album 💥💥
I am so very very grateful as somebody who is casually studied history for the last 30 years with this new group of UA-camrs that is taking history so very very seriously and doing an absolute excellent job presenting it to us.
I am so very grateful
Is nobody going to talk how they said their names wrong????!?!?!! Seriously?
Did I have a stroke???
They switch bodies. And have doubles in WW1 trenches. It easy to get confuse sometimes.
Left a like just for Indy and his beautiful rendition of Frosty
Meeeen i was thinking you give US today a history of D-DAY
Bcs its now fokin 6 of june
D-day was a big allied party, bro. USA, UK and Canada on the beaches, and the US and UK from the sky. And those are just the major players. A lot of work done by the French resistance and under cover operatives, too.
D-day is so popular and overforced that there's no need to tell about this once again
@@rinoz47 m8 i know it but it could be nice to See that actually today
rinoz47 im fairly certain that his “US” was autocorrect to be capitalized considering my phone has done that to me before.
@@goldenhedgehog9 yup
My great-grandfather was a sniper too. He served in the Greco-Turkish War of 1919-1922. Walked all the way from Anatolia to Athens carrying a fellow soldier who was wounded. Sad he died before I could meet him but, then again, he would be 119 years old now. He was also the best hunter (and the best shot) in the whole island and (I bet) one of the best in the whole country.
I was expecting Something from Carolus Rex because today is Swedens Nationaldag.
Either way amazing episode and an incredible story!
Also those 20 seconds from the new song was breathtaking!
i'm glad to see sabaton pay tribute to natives with this song.
Hey Sabaton History,
If you guys and Indy record and release "Frosty The Snowman".
I will bloody buy that cover.
Power metal.
Indy.
Sabaton.
Let's gooooo.
Indy singing frosty the snow man is very possibly the best thing I have seen this week
6 of June Never Forget!!!
I have never heard of Francis Pegahmagabow and I wish I learned of him sooner in Canadian high school.
75 Aniversary of D day today. We need a primo victoria episode.
14:36 sounds fucking amazing!!! Great War Album is really starting to sound brilliant!
SIXTH OF JUNE TWENTYNINETEEN and it's not Primo Victoria?
Another name never to be forgotten.
Hey ihr lieben Jungs von Sabaton #RESPEKT for this new song and Indy for tell the history 🤘Dankeschön.Freu mich auf Thursday to see your film from Plzeñ.LG Alex 🤘🍻
NOW I want to drink one (or more) beer with Indy! Maybe I can "convince" him to do a full concert with Tommy!
Cheers Indy!
After that footage Indy has to be the "special guest" at the next Sabaton concert! :D
