We thank God for this exciting phase of our life where He has been so gracious to give us another opportunity to create another home and to breathe life into that piece of land He has bequeathed us. Its so much fun seeing everything coming together beautiful.
I just found your channel and I am loving what I am seeing. I have just purchased land am starting my journey into homesteading and you guys are so inspirational. I also love natural building. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Wow, so much progress with the house! It's interesting to see the workforce is almost entirely made up of women. You've empowered many families there. Bless you Peter and Liz!
Thank you so much Mufu for the kind words. We appreciate. The work force is purely women at this stage, they have cleared the land, dug up the mud and basically all that progress. Now the men are starting this week for the roofing. Time for them ladies to put their feet up and get pampered.
Love this - it's women doing the construction as well -they hold so much knowledge of these traditional methods. If you google cob building, earthbag or earthship, these traditional methods of building are experiencing a come back because surprise surprise, they are economical, earth friendly, cool/warm as needed etc.
Confused but Excited, thank you so much. Yes, we got the inspiration of cob building on UA-cam as we were looking for sustainable, inexpensive form of building. It is very cool especially for our coastal weather. Thanks alot for watching.
Hey dear family , this brings a fresh air to me after meeting your UA-cam vlog. I am so much impressed. I am so much encouraged by your videos. Let me tell you a bit of myself, I am 28 yrs and my wife too, one child 1 yr 4 months. We have been in the country since day one of our marriage. I am actually at the coast, Magarini , remote areas. Seeing you guys excited and happy about your ventures here in the coast has much encouraged my broken spirit me. You may not understand how this raw videos of raw life has revived my broken spirit. Actually i have been searching country living videos in kenya, i didnt get any good exceptt 'village life' vlogs here and there such things as village girl etc, but I dont believe village life is off grid life in principle. So i decided to search off grid life in kenya and boom, i get you channel. This is a blessings friends because I have identified with your new location Uzima Tele. I have land too, 20 acres here. Climate looks the same and so Your excited state has inspired me big way. We are in prayers for 40 days , for two issues. While I was searching those vlogs I have been praying for God to intervene for water issues and also help us as we search land for my wife's parent in the country. I am so happy for this video particularly seeing how house can be so cute yet very economical, that is brilliant.
Hello, thank you so much for following our channel and the beautiful comments. I have read all your comments in the other videos and yes, they are very educative and encouraging as well. To answer your questions real fast. 1. Cost of land in this area is between 50,000kshs to 200 000shs per acre depending on location and amenities factors of the land. 2.Yes,they have genuine title deeds. Majority have, the government divided the land to people into schemes. 3. Water table is 200metres, It's very deep that's why many don't have boreholes and Wells. 4. Cost of drilling a borehole we inquired from professionals and they charge 1million kshs. I hope I have answered your questions well. Elizabeth.
Thank you Liz , thanks for checking out my other comments. You guys keep matching forward. What you are doing is not weird , this is exactly God's blue print of life and education. And this is the path we committed to follow before we got married and this is our goal. Noah was seen crazy, bt until the floods come. You have answered my questions well . And I have a check points in our decision as God lead. Where is this Uzima Tele by the way? I have tried to search it online but i am not getting it. Where is it located? @@homesteadingwiththeangafam2158
Go for it,mud houses are inexpensive and so cool in hot areas or warm in cold climates. I believe you wont regret. And you might find out you don't need an architect, you become one. 😀
What a wholesome family!!! Love your channel! Interested in homesteading as well, a Q&A would be lovely so as to learn a few tips from you in regards to how you came to adopt this lifestyle. Otherwise, thank you for showing us a piece of your world! :)
I don't think u realize how vastly different our weather is. Us Canadians would freeze to death in one of these huts. The coldest our weather has gotten this year was -47. So I literally mean we would freeze to death. Not everywhere had warm Temps all year round. To see how u guys live has definitely been an eye opener!!
I have never been to any country yet that freeze. I would love to experience snow though briefly just for exposure am sure it will also be an eye opener for us as well. Thanks for your beautiful comment.
@Homesteading With the Ang'a family in Kenya. anytime. If u want I could send u a bunch of pictures of all the snow we have gotten so far. We literally had to dig our trailer out of the snow!!!
Thanks for this. I always love your videos. Can't wait to see the finished homestead 🙌🏾. I wanted to buy a little land in malindi that place the will build the solar farm or rural malundi, is it expensive. Hongera. Shiko based in 🇺🇲
Yvonne k,thank you so much for the love. Malindi has different ranges of costs in land, where we are based right now is totally inexpensive because it's quite off social amenities, deep in the rural areas. This sides land is very affordable.
