    Seeing that bump fire, just made me replace the cordless Milwaukee, good tool brand but who likes climbing around rafters and nailing with a dumbbell? Love nailers that don’t compromise mobility for the “best” performance. Love the video

    Great update . Type 3 dcn692 is £250 in 🇬🇧 as a bare unit . I use a 2ah battery .keeps the weight down . I personally like the rhythmic sound it makes , the whine on start up . They're meant to be used , and you certainly did .

    When I'm doing a frame house partitions I'm only using a regular old traditional hammer and common nails either the size of 3-1/2" or 3-1/4" long and I'm using a California Framing Hammer with a straight Rip Claw, large striking and milled or waffle face to drive and sink nails into the 2x4 and 2x6's lumber. IF I'm doing a House framing that's where I'm gonna be needing to use a nail gun or framing nailer I either use my old Hitachi Pneumatic framing Collated nailer or my DeWalt cordless framing nailer especially when I'm in a hurry Yeah that's where the Framing Nailer comes in handy.

    A bit confused, you have a 21 degree title but your talking about loading 30 degree nails. So what are you recommending? 21 or 30 degree?

    • @WHISPERSHOT
      @WHISPERSHOT 2 роки тому +3

      21 degree has better nail availability while 30 degree is more compact due to its angle structure. Both do the same thing, just depends if you want compact or not. I know this is a year late, but hopefully someone can find some use for this

    Bought the 21° kit new in box mark down from $399 to $100!!! Wish I owned it last summer building a deck. Dragged nailer, hose and compressor around a condo morning night over three weekends 🫣

    I have had problems shooting ring shank on 5/8 roof sheathing into Southern yellow pine trusses and that's using 2 1/2 inch rings it tends to bend them over and have to pull on gun to get It off bent nails, had to switch to pneumatic for that I wasn't impressed . It works fine on everything but the rings into trusses

    So why is the older gun in such bad shape?? Was it used heavily ?? Did it fall and hit pavement too many times?? I’m concerned about reliability.
    I have quite a few dewalt cordless tools, some are even the old 18v but use the 18v to 20v adapter on them and still running well after 15 years of every day use and that’s no exaggeration but have gone through 3 drills ( also dewalt) in the same amount of time.
    So was that older nailer just used a lot or abused or is it a unreliable pos??

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  4 роки тому

      It was a great nailer and i used it a lot! in the summer and winter months, I think it just came to the end of its lifespan.it was never dropped to my knowledge, it did get wet a few times, and very muddy. I think its still a good purchase, however i really do prefer the metabo.

    What do you mean by "You could frame a house with this if you REALLY wanted to".? Is it slower than using an air one or too heavy to want to use all day? I have a trigger finger (middle finger) that locks and doesn't take much like using a hammer to make it act up and ache and keep me up at night and planning to build my own house this spring.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  2 роки тому

      it definitely is slower than a pneumatic nail gun, its a bit heavier to, but not by much. it will definitely do the job but i like air guns for nailing up my beams and posts. at the moment im using the Metabo nail gun that is superior to the Dewalt in my opinion.

      not really unfortunately, they are both totally different tools, used for different tasks. I think the finishing nailer might be best. you can always do framing with a hammer and an impact driver.
