Seeing that bump fire, just made me replace the cordless Milwaukee, good tool brand but who likes climbing around rafters and nailing with a dumbbell? Love nailers that don’t compromise mobility for the “best” performance. Love the video
thank you!
Great update . Type 3 dcn692 is £250 in 🇬🇧 as a bare unit . I use a 2ah battery .keeps the weight down . I personally like the rhythmic sound it makes , the whine on start up . They're meant to be used , and you certainly did .
Not £250 anymore 😢
When I'm doing a frame house partitions I'm only using a regular old traditional hammer and common nails either the size of 3-1/2" or 3-1/4" long and I'm using a California Framing Hammer with a straight Rip Claw, large striking and milled or waffle face to drive and sink nails into the 2x4 and 2x6's lumber. IF I'm doing a House framing that's where I'm gonna be needing to use a nail gun or framing nailer I either use my old Hitachi Pneumatic framing Collated nailer or my DeWalt cordless framing nailer especially when I'm in a hurry Yeah that's where the Framing Nailer comes in handy.
Thanks for the good review. Of course I watched it after I purchased mine today. I look forward to using it soon. I love my 16 ga. Dewalt finish nailer so decided to pull the trigger on the big brother.
I like how you are straight up honest, good review
A bit confused, you have a 21 degree title but your talking about loading 30 degree nails. So what are you recommending? 21 or 30 degree?
21 degree has better nail availability while 30 degree is more compact due to its angle structure. Both do the same thing, just depends if you want compact or not. I know this is a year late, but hopefully someone can find some use for this
Bought the 21° kit new in box mark down from $399 to $100!!! Wish I owned it last summer building a deck. Dragged nailer, hose and compressor around a condo morning night over three weekends 🫣
thats exactly why i cut the cord, so much time wasted moving hoses and extra money on compressors
Where did you find it for $100?
Yea no kidding, that’s cheap! What’s your secret???
Just ordered mine looking forward to using it thank you for the video great information
Just an fyi Dewalt is releasing the new one this year. And it’s even better
What's the model number@@hammerandhome
@hammerandhome what's the model number
I’ve just bought this gun and wondering how it copes in the rain?
Are those 16s the nails for like framing up walls n studs? N also does it take plastic coiled clips of nails or does it only take paper
It's the lightest. Paslode is even lighter that's why I like it
I have had problems shooting ring shank on 5/8 roof sheathing into Southern yellow pine trusses and that's using 2 1/2 inch rings it tends to bend them over and have to pull on gun to get It off bent nails, had to switch to pneumatic for that I wasn't impressed . It works fine on everything but the rings into trusses
I have found the same issue with a lot of the battery guns and ring shank nails. It seems to be an issue.
Or DeWalt framing nailer at work you absolutely CANNOT fire fast with it without having that exact issue. Super frustrating.
So why is the older gun in such bad shape?? Was it used heavily ?? Did it fall and hit pavement too many times?? I’m concerned about reliability.
I have quite a few dewalt cordless tools, some are even the old 18v but use the 18v to 20v adapter on them and still running well after 15 years of every day use and that’s no exaggeration but have gone through 3 drills ( also dewalt) in the same amount of time.
So was that older nailer just used a lot or abused or is it a unreliable pos??
It was a great nailer and i used it a lot! in the summer and winter months, I think it just came to the end of its lifespan.it was never dropped to my knowledge, it did get wet a few times, and very muddy. I think its still a good purchase, however i really do prefer the metabo.
@@hammerandhome k
What do you mean by "You could frame a house with this if you REALLY wanted to".? Is it slower than using an air one or too heavy to want to use all day? I have a trigger finger (middle finger) that locks and doesn't take much like using a hammer to make it act up and ache and keep me up at night and planning to build my own house this spring.
it definitely is slower than a pneumatic nail gun, its a bit heavier to, but not by much. it will definitely do the job but i like air guns for nailing up my beams and posts. at the moment im using the Metabo nail gun that is superior to the Dewalt in my opinion.
thanks for the review and tips, I am wondering if the DCN21PLB is the same as DCN692B with only difference is the 21 vs 30 degrees? the one in the video is 692B but the title of the video is 21PLB
what would the difference be between 21 vs 30 degree
@@carldewitz5239 the nail size.
@@carldewitz5239 9 degrees
We finally fixed the title, we had the wrong model number up there. No idea why!!
they are different, 21 degree shoot full round head, 30 degree shoot clipped head or offset round head nails.
Qué pasó en el minuto 5:07? me pareció ver una chispa que expulsa la maquina?
What's the model #? I can't find it
Where díd you get the new corless gun????
Is it still doing great I use dewalt and Milwaukee but the new fuel framer is so heavy .
I use primarily the metabo. It’s a lb lighter than the Milwaukee and more powerful than the dewalt. I never use my dewalt.
How long will the battery last?...I'm framing fences for residential property...so I use about 300 to 500 nails per day
Get the 6 or 9 amp hour flex volt batteries they’ll last you maybe 5 hours. I know my 60v flex volt saw got 5 end a half hours of straight framing.
Those batteries will add a ton of weight though
Is this the latest of dewalt cordless framing nail gun?
i believe so, 3rd gen
Can you use framing nailers to finish work? I only have the budget to buy a framer or finish nailer and want to buy the most versatile option first.
not really unfortunately, they are both totally different tools, used for different tasks. I think the finishing nailer might be best. you can always do framing with a hammer and an impact driver.
Which nail gun is good to use the 21degrees or 31 degrees?
i've only ever used the 31 deg. I think the nails are more common to find, same with the 28 deg.
Roughly how long did that first Gen last you before it died???????
about 4 years, the new one is way better
So kind of weird, the model number suggests 21d, but you said 30d nails?
Can you use 30d nails in a 21d gun? Or is the video title wrong?
Looks like the amazon link changed on us, this gun I reviewed takes the 30 deg. I updated the link. thx for letting me know, amzn.to/2ZhZYZh
@@hammerandhome oh yeah, no problem. I don’t mean to come off as a troll or “that guy”. I just placed an order for the model number you had up earlier, and ordered 21d nails- and I was like... uhhh ohhh.
In your older gun the springs need to be replaced
My brother is friends with a Dewalt rep and he said they with a hydrogen based nailer similar to the metabo and Milwaukee but it uses hydrogen gas instead of nitrogen gas it supposedly more stable and is not affected by temperature
I didn't think there was a gas in the Metabo, just had mine fixed and to recharge it they used compressed air.
Why would pulling the handle back annoying? Well make your own if this annoys you!
On Amazon it’s $100 cheaper to buy the gun with a 4ah battery and charger, than to buy the bare tool alone
sweet thanks for the update
Show how to adjust. You mentioned a couple times but never showed how to adjust the nail depth
The yellow dial on the nose of the gun spins. That’s how you can adjust the depth of nail.
At about 12 minutes in your video...If you loosen the 2 allen screws a little and re tighten them, then your gun should work again
Cheers
I am a Milwaukee and DeWalt user , but yes the DeWalt is lighter
thanks for watching :)
How much price nailer sir.
Check the description box below the video, we have links to Amazon, Home Depot, etc, where they'll list the current price.
This is a 9 pounds to heavy
The air mail gun it like 3
I stick with my air gun
I hate ring shank nails if you make a mistake and you got to remove that nail pain in the ass to remove
yeah they are in for life
It's $150 more than the metabo..
Just needs new pin
i'll check it out, thanks
What do want a silent cordless airless lightweight nail gun...they don't exist yet so stop complaining about noise a hammer is not silent either
Well my metabo nailer is pretty silent, and it shoots better than the dewalt. It’s ok to not like how something sounds.
Thx for watching
O ya my wife is going to kill me I gotta get me one of those nailers
ya you do :) thanks for watching
.
get the millwaukee nailer its better in everyway and u dont have to listen to the ramp up time aswell
I just might, my Metabo just broke so im in the market for a new cordless
True but your arm will fall off from it it's way to heavy it's so heavy it's actually uncomfortable to use have to hold it with 2 hands nailing up high
Too heavy
Do you own any DEWALT tools? 😂
Lol, just a couple
Difficult to determine from your workshop setting, whether you're a DeWalt fan or not.. 😅
It’s actually starting to get confusing 🫤 Milwaukee is making its mark in the shop😳
