    I bought the Dewalt based on this review, and I’m not disappointed. It’s a brilliant bit of kit

    This is great. I’m a remodeling contractor and I’m on the Milwaukee and Dewalt battery platforms but the Milwaukee is like a boat anchor just based on picking it up in the store.

      Yep any battery gun will definitely be heavier than an equivalent air gun, but it's a tradeoff most are willing to accept!

    Nice review! I've got the 21 degree version of this gun (DCN21PL), and I pretty much agree with everything you said. In regards to the Milwaukee, you might take a look at the Metabo HPT guns, specifically the 36v versions. I picked up the 21 degree Metabo HPT, it uses a compressed air cylinder rather than a spring or flywheel. On the 36v version, it can more or less keep up with a pneumatic. I've built a lot of fence with it so far, and done some interior framing. It's going to be my workhorse on my upcoming home build.

      Thanks! I’ve never looked into the metabo honestly but that’s an interesting design that it uses air. I’m surprised it can keep that cylinder charged up enough to compete with a traditional gun both in power and speed.

    I enjoyed your review. I'm into the Dewalt system personally as I've got a few tools for work and I like them (Impact, Hammer Drill, Multitool...) but I've been looking at getting a nailer and I think Dewalt dropped the ball. The Milwaukee option seems superior in this particular area.

      I can’t disagree with ya there. This gun does the job and it’s worked nicely for the build, but I may switch it out for a Milwaukee gun with battery adapter one day

    Can you use "plastic" collated nails in this gun?

    • @Xrobberyx
      @Xrobberyx 8 місяців тому

      It’s been 2 months but no the dcn692 is the paper collated . The dcn21pl is the plastic collated . They’re virtually identical except for the magazine

      What are the pro's & con's of 30 vs 21 degrees?

    • @Xrobberyx
      @Xrobberyx 7 місяців тому

      @@tinman1955the 30° typically does better in tight spaces as the angle of the magazine allows you to maneuver the gun easier and paper collated nails doesn’t have the plastic shards that are ejected from the gun when firing

    • @Xrobberyx
      @Xrobberyx 7 місяців тому

      @@tinman1955cons of paper is that if they get wet the nail strips fall apart

      I had one of those guns 2 years ago and that light came on every 4th nail...
      It's likely the gun is picky as to which nails you put in it.
