In my humble opinion when it peaked on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in January 1977 it should have gone No. 1. Not taking anything away from Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" but in my humble opinion "After The Lovin'" was the best song that week in January 1977.

"After the Lovin" and "This Moment in Time" are absolutely my two favorite songs by you, Enge ! I have heard you say how "After the Lovin" was a triple platinum song and I can understand why ! And then you came out with "This Moment in Time", such a romantic and a wonderful song ! In 1977, you were so talented and so gorgeous, and for me, you took over for Elvis after he died that year, as you became such a super star and just got better and better as a singer and performer !

After The Loving...Ah yes. How I love that song. Last Of The Romantics is a wonderful album. I own the album and I also have it on CD and I listen to it often. It is now around 3 p.m. in New York City and I am sitting on my terrace watching boats go by on the Hudson River and watching the traffic on the George Washington Bridge and my music of choice this glorious afternoon is your cd Remember I Love You and now playing We'll Meet Again, the last song on the cd. So, dear Enge...remember I love you and yes...we'll meet again. God bless.
You paint a very pretty picture, Gail. "Remember I Love You" is a fabulous CD, with so many beautiful songs. My favorite song on this CD, although very sad, is "How Do I Stop Loving You". I cannot hear that song without crying. Hopefully, "We'll Meet Again". I have tickets for Lancaster, PA on October 10th, and possibly at Atlantic City, on October 9th. I'm crossing my fingers the concerts don't get cancelled, as a lot of entertainers are cancelling their U.S. tours!!!!!

The title track "Last of the Romantics" was written by the immensely talented Rupert Holmes who went on to have his own chart success for a few years after this album was made. It is a great album. I think the Epic era was a great one for Engelbert.

I love Engelbert's hands, too. I think his magnificent hands are one of his best attributes, as they allow him to express emotion in his singing, like no other!!!!
What memories this album brings me, because I bought the cassette in Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, at a stop on the ship where I worked, taking pilgrims to Mecca. They say that every circumstance that occurs in a happy moment tends to be colorful with happiness, and I don't know if all the songs are good because of my mood and the beautiful memory when I listen to them, but I really like this album.

After The Loving...Ah yes. How I love that song. Last Of The Romantics is a wonderful album. I own the album and I also have it on CD and I listen to it often. It is now around 3 p.m. in New York City and I am sitting on my terrace watching boats go by on the Hudson River and watching the traffic on the George Washington Bridge and my music of choice this glorious afternoon is your cd Remember I Love You and now playing We'll Meet Again, the last song on the cd. So, dear Enge...remember I love you and yes...we'll meet again. God bless.
You paint a very pretty picture, Gail. "Remember I Love You" is a fabulous CD, with so many beautiful songs. My favorite song on this CD, although very sad, is "How Do I Stop Loving You". I cannot hear that song without crying. Hopefully, "We'll Meet Again". I have tickets for Lancaster, PA on October 10th, and possibly at Atlantic City, on October 9th. I'm crossing my fingers the concerts don't get cancelled, as a lot of entertainers are cancelling their U.S. tours!!!!!
@@barbarabellettiere4136 I received my copy of the CD "Remember I love you" today - all the way from Germany. I wanted it primarily for "How Do I Stop Loving You" which isn't on any of my other CD's. Of course, everything else is fabulous as well. Such a coincidence I had to reply. I'm very happy. You are so lucky to have tickets to see the Great One.

The title track "Last of the Romantics" was written by the immensely talented Rupert Holmes who went on to have his own chart success for a few years after this album was made. It is a great album. I think the Epic era was a great one for Engelbert.

I love Engelbert's hands, too. I think his magnificent hands are one of his best attributes, as they allow him to express emotion in his singing, like no other!!!!
What memories this album brings me, because I bought the cassette in Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, at a stop on the ship where I worked, taking pilgrims to Mecca. They say that every circumstance that occurs in a happy moment tends to be colorful with happiness, and I don't know if all the songs are good because of my mood and the beautiful memory when I listen to them, but I really like this album.

a very good album i agree engelbert. great 1978 release. the previous albums were great too after the lovin 76, miracles by engelbert humperdinck 77 and christmas tyme 1977. i wish u could get sony to remaster all your epic stuff and do the box set. next album 1979 this moment in time. love that album

I waited to hear from this album. It´s my favorite. I love the songs THIS TIME ONE YEAR AGO and LOVE IS ALL, but Engelbert did not make any comment about them, so sad!
This is my favorite! "After the Lovin" I am just a little local performer and I use it when accompanying Restauran's. I travel once to Bull Head City to watch you perform and you had your daughter perform as well. Stay healthy and safe.
