this might be the sickest tom penny of all the tom penny eras. He was just so brilliant at this time. A true genius and legend. More than a legend calling him a legend doesnt do him justice. He is just the greatest person ever
this was the contest when he couldn't seem to land anything when he took his run, so he casually climbed up the roll in and nearly frontside kickfliped from the 7 ft q pipe over the bank to wallride and into the 8 ft. Had it under his feet perfect then went naaa like not today, and strolled off outside leaving everyone crazy for more, "get him back" they shouted "and make him do it" ha no chance he had already forgotten what he was doing! RULER!
Penny is too pure, too much of a natural for the skateboard industry (not skateboarding itself). no person, living or dead, could live up to the legend he inadvertently created early in his career. he's the Dave Chappelle of skateboarding.
every second of footage ever captured of this guy, weather he landed or not, needs to be documented. at this point he is basically a living breathing world heritage site.
Seen a lot of Tom in this park, many moons ago on the video log skate vids, number six had penny switch frontside flipping the big pyramid during a competition 🙌, It had a seriously young Geoff Rowley on it too heel flipping everywhere haha
People answered you correctly, you're in a wrong place here, knowing nothing is bad but knowing little is 1000x worse.. Penny in the 90s was on street ahead of everybody, yeah there were good skater without a doubt but Tom operated on a different level, how he done things and where and how he used the terrain was ahead of everybody .. even early 2000's when he skated the chain.. not that other top pros couldn't do the trick he made that day but he made it all that in such a way in short time just spitting it out and no pro then or now did..except three trick went down that years ago.. point being Penny understood skating on a different level .. yeah they do bigger handrails bigger stuff more tech but Tom back then was ahead of his time like nobody is today except here and there few tricks going to the limit. All the people skate good, amazing but there is also art in it and Tom was a wizard. So as somebody wrote to you you're crossing lines. Better not comment kid what you don't know.

Frankie Hill did the first kickflip over a handrail. But nothing could have prepared me for Tom Penny's magic in that Flip promo.
Hill did the first eh?

Tom penny is so over rated compared to who is out there now skating. So many better skaters than Penny. Let's be real
This was nearly 30 years ago, genius... And no; this is still cooler than most shit today, and he's barely even trying.
