i'm still looking at it over and over!! look at how his board went, so beautifully flipping, so beautifully level board in air, so beautifully catching board in air, and so beautifully landing.. RAD!!!!!!!!!
This is definitely 95/96... The park had a totally different layout in 93. Plus people were still wearing those cut-off, ridiculously oversized jeans in 93. A chronological error on Thrasher's part here!
I was at the Radlands comp in 93, i remember watching him do a huge kickflip fakie on the quarterpipe and it seemed totally unreal at the time, probably still unreal now... The american pro's looked a little stunned during his runs...
Tom Penny once kickfliped over me 18 years ago. The gap he did was so big we didnt even know it was one lol. He went up a 6ft bank kickfliped over me standing there landing on a 5ft quarter 8ft away. He must of had over 6ft of air.
It's god damn unnerving how clean and relaxed he always is. It's like he's not even skating, he's just floating around, going where the flow takes him. Unlike the skaters of today, who, too, are fun to look at occasionally, but who completely lack style, imagination and the whole aura of fun that Tom has. Skateboarding isn't just a sport, and Tom is one of the few people who understand that. And what's more, he could've been a Tony Hawk, rich and famous, but chose not to. That's real.
I was there that year he won that championships . I swear down the dude is on another level on vert with no pads busting bs tailslide like nothing fs flips beautiful fs stinky grabs and he evn pulled a cab to crooked to fakie I saw the whole thing my mate and I waiting to watch him on vert. street was insane too he wouldn't skate like other pros, he just fucks about maybe suddenly he gets in the mood to try something big and always lands first try, the god of one foot shiftys and bs no complys!
damn it, i keep looking at 0:32 over and over again.. cleaniest, best, and most badass nollie b/s 90 kickflip.. so badass, so clean, so rad!! why wasn't it on one of his old videos? thanks phelps for hooking this video footage up to show his damn badass trick at 0:32 so i get to see it and be written on my brain!
I was thinking the same. Late 1994 or early 1995. Not just how Tom's skating -- amazingly, and post 1993 -- but because of the Rhythm banners and other things in the background.
ive rewinded this footage numerous times the last couple of days.. .. but ive just noticed his switch ollie and switch was over an roadbanner and not just regular over the pyramid.. so sick!
It's been said before and I'll say it again - Best. Style. EVER. dude has always been and always will be my favorite skater of all time, right above cardiel and donny barley. my favorite footage of tom is probably his 96 radlands competition footage. the 411VM europe 96 tape was one of the first skate vids i owned, and it had that footy in there, and i was just blown the fuck away. plus it had the footy of his infamous hippie jump through the car at the puma gran prix in switzerland.
@amarsbarr yeah but theres something about those little pool clips, idk. go back and look at how he rolled away from the fs flip in the pool. its too perfect.
I would say that this has got to be at least 95, more probably 96. Either way its at least 16 years old and some of those tricks would still get coverage today AMAZING
yh i thought it was later too, looks a lot like more like him when he won radlands in 95,maybe between then and 96.someone needs to upload his footage from 411 europe 96,hes so far ahead of everyone else its silly
And to blaber on those switch ollies at the end are fucking enormous, those English road pointers are at least 4 foot tall, the guy was born to skate, I thin a few years after when he was living in london I saw him a bit grogy looking with a dirty leather jacket and hiking boots falling apart but hacking towards the 7 stairs they have, they had put a plastic road barrier in front of the stairs, the dude backside nollied over the barrier and down the stairs at about 1000 miles an hour man.FACT
Flip should be "sorry" they have any tom penny vert skating in any of their videos. Tom! drop in one time for the nine five and have someone there to film it, that would be sick, chill hard and skate harder!
damn it, look at his front foot, it looks like he wasn't kicking board but he was kickflipping it but doesn't see any kicking in it.. damn it!! yeah, i know he did kicking it but i say barely because i dont see any kicking in it.. look at it carefully, you will see what i'm talking about
that is true. like bums, attacking other bums...seems to only work every time. but enough with the switch heels down blocks already, you dont have to agree but geez actual skating please. i dont want a franchise big mac. i want mom and pop shop secret recipe with some bad ass seasoning : ) just saying....p p p peace
@RaabBlog he just kept doing kickflips and frontside flips that's all he did in menikmati got really boring :( he's much better in flip really sorry :D
The most naturally gifted skateboarder ever. Poetry in motion
Yep always in near perfect tune.
Skating vert like a miniramp, incredible!
i'm still looking at it over and over!! look at how his board went, so beautifully flipping, so beautifully level board in air, so beautifully catching board in air, and so beautifully landing.. RAD!!!!!!!!!
Tom does everything with so much style and ease. He's incredibly chill, and just an overall God of skateboarding.
This is definitely 95/96... The park had a totally different layout in 93. Plus people were still wearing those cut-off, ridiculously oversized jeans in 93. A chronological error on Thrasher's part here!
Makes the vert looking like a mini ramp. Bloody hell!
I was at the Radlands comp in 93, i remember watching him do a huge kickflip fakie on the quarterpipe and it seemed totally unreal at the time, probably still unreal now... The american pro's looked a little stunned during his runs...
Tom Penny is truly the king of the half pipe.
The man has the greatest style of all time. No one even comes close.
Tom Penny once kickfliped over me 18 years ago. The gap he did was so big we didnt even know it was one lol. He went up a 6ft bank kickfliped over me standing there landing on a 5ft quarter 8ft away. He must of had over 6ft of air.
Wow, was this ever on film anywhere? Sounds so cool
does this video crack anyone else up? i start laughing every time i see the vert section its funny how good he is
That's back when I first started skating. The memories...
juste un mot : magnifique...
He is a miracel!
His style is wonderfull and his flips are magic.

My fav skater of all time. But at :33 Who the fuck slaps the nose down on the coping during a kickflip to fake... That's crazy
his pool footatge in menikmati is the best pool footage ive ever seen, all of tom penny's footage is classic.
You only wish you could do f/s flips on vert
I can watch Penny skate forever
damn it, i keep looking at 0:32 over and over again.. cleaniest, best, and most badass nollie b/s 90 kickflip.. so badass, so clean, so rad!! why wasn't it on one of his old videos? thanks phelps for hooking this video footage up to show his damn badass trick at 0:32 so i get to see it and be written on my brain!
Totally. This has got to be 1995 at least.
I'm sure that was bit before 95 Europe 411
I was thinking the same. Late 1994 or early 1995. Not just how Tom's skating -- amazingly, and post 1993 -- but because of the Rhythm banners and other things in the background.
There is and will only ever be one Tom Penny.
Tom Penny, comfortable and impressive on any terrain.
Sick, though some of this footage is later than 93, as the MiniDisc sponsorship wasin 95
How the hell does he make it look so effortless?
so clean... my fave skater!
ive rewinded this footage numerous times the last couple of days.. .. but ive just noticed his switch ollie and switch was over an roadbanner and not just regular over the pyramid.. so sick!
@poteznido the reason it seems more 94-95ish footage is cuz Tom was ALWAYS ahead of everybody else.
When Tom catches air, he doesn't fly, he floats
Sick, always enjoyed pennys ramp work.
A truly rare gift he has...
0:52 lol yeah why not just full cab on a vert ramp like its nothing
nice story man! he is indeed on another level...
Had to have been shr00ms.. I mean the switch is altered state o mind stuff..
Solid style 🏹📝🌱🌿🌲🎨
Hell yeah, this is the Tom Penny I remember. Fucking effortless!!
he skates vert like it aint shit. also, what stance is he? its hard to keep track when hes skating the street course
Tom was way ahead of his time
It's been said before and I'll say it again - Best. Style. EVER.
dude has always been and always will be my favorite skater of all time, right above cardiel and donny barley.

wow tom penny looks like he could never get injured
@amarsbarr yeah but theres something about those little pool clips, idk. go back and look at how he rolled away from the fs flip in the pool. its too perfect.

Tom penny is das cooleste skater
As Paul Daniels would say "THAT'S MAGIC!"
This is 1995
Tom penny has natural style thats good to watch
thats one good ass camera for 17 years ago
I would say that this has got to be at least 95, more probably 96. Either way its at least 16 years old and some of those tricks would still get coverage today

OG
@pizzaskate420 his parents are both artists...

how old was he in this video?
@deathbyewok
i disage theres rumors that tom penny's mom was a skateboarder back in the 70s.
@SuperPekka Amen to that bro
Who disliked this fucking hell! not a clue.
Probably some yank skater lol
he rides a vert ramp as if it would be a mini ramp
Definitely not 93 probably 95 but always good to watch Tom
OG as fuck...props!
Flip should be "sorry" they have any tom penny vert skating in any of their videos. Tom! drop in one time for the nine five and have someone there to film it, that would be sick, chill hard and skate harder!

@skateboardvids96 mike mo aint got shit on tom penny
Fricking ridiculous. That's 17 f-ing years ago.
And now it’s 28 years... and still is the shit!
No jumbo pants, circa 1993
man filming was so primitive, compared to nowadays
The ad before this video was a guy shaving his pubes on a norelco commercial.
1993?! NEVER! More like '95.
r i p radlands
um but there definetly are alot of things that if you follow, make ur skate video much better, you cant deny that
damn it, look at his front foot, it looks like he wasn't kicking board but he was kickflipping it but doesn't see any kicking in it.. damn it!! yeah, i know he did kicking it but i say barely because i dont see any kicking in it.. look at it carefully, you will see what i'm talking about
This and dog videos
that is true. like bums, attacking other bums...seems to only work every time. but enough with the switch heels down blocks already, you dont have to agree but geez actual skating please. i dont want a franchise big mac. i want mom and pop shop secret recipe with some bad ass seasoning : ) just saying....p p p peace
The face of god.

Nah Mike Mo is another pale pale shadow. Get it the right way round.

@RaabBlog he just kept doing kickflips and frontside flips that's all he did in menikmati got really boring :( he's much better in flip really sorry :D
