This a rare find; I didn’t know John recorded The Weight. I love his range; just a bit higher than his average, it speaks for itself. Sad news about losing Robbie Robertson, he was an amazing singer/songwriter as well
His commitment to nature and the environment. His ability to write songs that capture both the vitality of nature, and the situations that humans find themselves in. His clear and distinctive voice, both in speech and in song. And much more.
I'm writing the script for my next John Denver video. I'm going through his albums in chronological order. Next up is 1975 and "An Evening with John Denver." Posting in a few days. Here's a link to the first one. ua-cam.com/video/uSZbbXQ_RBU/v-deo.html
My first and most favorite concert - John Denver 4/25/1976. Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, In. - my Dad loaded up the motor home, and drove a bunch of us downtown for the show. Thanks for the memories John. Miss you Buddy. 🕊
I was fortunate to be friends with John at Texas Tech. He lived next door in the dorm, and I spent a lot of nights listening to him playing his guitar. We would go on 'double-dates' with me driving, 'cause he had his leg in a cast (he had lost a couple of toes the previous summer while working in a logging camp). John was a generous soul with immense talent. Miss him.
Love this! Have never heard John’s version of this song! What a Blessing to hear John sing this! Thank you so much for putting it here for us to enjoy. I miss you, John! The World misses you!❤
Great version, and tribute !! Didn't know John Denver ever did Covers..😂 🙏💖 RI✌️ to both John and now Robbie.. both of mind of respecting and rejoicing in the beauty of people, and nature
@marcosbryant27 Another hard choice. Of course everyone lives Country Roads but Eagle and the Hawk make me feel like I can fly too 😃. And TG I’m A Country Boy is just plain fun even though I’m a city girl. Then there’s also just the imagery of SoMS. And Follow Me! Idk, depends on my mood too!
Nice tribute to Mr. Robertson, thank you. Mr. Denver was so incredibly talented as well. I saw JD once solo, no backup or band, just a 12-string guitar.
There are many cover songs that JD recorded that I like better than the originals - his voice is awesome and his interpretations are amazing. He's truly missed.
I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin' about half past dead I just need some place where I can lay my head "Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?" He just grinned and shook my hand, "no" was all he said Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and, and) you put the load right on me (You put the load right on me) I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on let's go downtown." She said, "I gotta go but my friend can stick around." Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and, and) you put the load right on me (You put the load right on me) Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say It's just old Luke and Luke's waitin' on the Judgment Day "Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?" He said, "Do me a favor, son, won't you stay and keep Anna Lee company?" Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and, and) you put the load right on me (You put the load right on me) Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog He said, "I will fix your rack if you take Jack, my dog." I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man." He said, "That's OK, boy, won't you feed him when you can?" Yeah, take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and, and) you put the load right on me (You put the load right on me) Catch a cannon ball now to take me down the line My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one Who sent me here with her regards for everyone Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and, and) you put the load right on me (You put the load right on me)
You can't take a classic like that and try to reproduce it without all your ducks in a row. How about the high school choir to do your third 3/5th and 7th accompaniment that song needs it that is the essence of the song is the harmony
One of my favorite songs performed by one of my favorite artists. RIP John and Robbie. You are missed.
I love John Denver music i will always miss you

Sadly, John and Robbie Robertson can perform this song together now. Thank you, both.
His commitment to nature and the environment. His ability to write songs that capture both the vitality of nature, and the situations that humans find themselves in. His clear and distinctive voice, both in speech and in song. And much more.
"Rocky Mountain High," quickly followed by "I Think I'd Rather Be a Cowboy (Lady's Chains)."

Backing him in NY was one of my greatest times. He gave me a Guild guitar that night from his collection. I miss him greatly.

I miss you my friend
They sure don’t make great music like this anymore 😢
Farrr-out !
“Just grinned shook my hand No was all he said…” a most memorable lyric. John Denver’s voice range with arrangement is dynamic…
I was fortunate to be friends with John at Texas Tech. He lived next door in the dorm, and I spent a lot of nights listening to him playing his guitar. John was a generous soul with immense talent. Miss him.
thanks for the memory, dear souls 😊 🎉
I have always loved John Denver. His music reminds me of the simpler times😊

¡John Denver permanecerá para siempre en nuestros recuerdos y corazones por sus obras de arte que son sus canciones!
Saw him 4 times back in the day. He was so good, as big as the Beatles. So sad he passed, too soon. He’d freak at today’s environment. Luv
✨✨ Thanks! ✨✨
Never heard this-it’s fantastic. Them boys are jamming now.
What killer cover. RIP Robbie Robertson, great songwriter.
He did a great cover of a great song 🎸🎶
John's music got me through some tough times wish he was still here

One hit Wonder!
Wow. Just so good.
@marcosbryant27 His musical talent? His beautiful voice? His amazing lyrics? Hard to choose?

The Nazareth he's referring to is Nazareth, PA, the home of Martin Guitars and not the Biblical one.
Nice tribute to Mr. Robertson, thank you. Mr. Denver was so incredibly talented as well. I saw JD once solo, no backup or band, just a 12-string guitar.
Why is this version not on spotify :((
First comment let's go
Great cover. The Muppets with Jimmy Fallon is another good cover of this song.
The finest man I ever met.
There are many cover songs that JD recorded that I like better than the originals - his voice is awesome and his interpretations are amazing. He's truly missed.

this is a great version of this song R.I.P John Denver & Robbie Robertson
👍🏻
Thank You . . .
Good version seems relevant as Robbie leaves us, hope they meet up somewhere on the other side
Love that song. John does it better than the original artist. No pun intended
Done well though nothing can compare to the original or The Last Waltz version. Still it is John Denver so always nice !
Having problem playing music on UA-cam
'PromoSM'

Too much snare
I think it's just not enough cowbell

Nope ..it don't suit John ...This sound or song ..
