27:22 So if the Japanese version's scroll says "Look at the sky! Where!? Where!?" doesn't that double as a melody bay hint *and* a foreshadowing of Mallow's origins?
I see a lot of comments for Pidge is here, but I also want to say that as a newbie to speed runs of SMRPG, I loved also hearing Claude in tandem. Great run Mill! Loved watching this so much!
Always happy to see uploads from RPG Limit Break! I've always been more of a fan of RPGs anyway, and while it's nice to see some of the craziness in platformers and other genres at GDQ I always look forward to seeing the different approaches that RPGs take to getting quick times.
Oh! Pidge is there! With the mask, I didn't recognize her in the thumbnail, or I would have watched sooner. She's very good at explaining this game. And I'm hoping there's some new stuff.
It is actually possible to get hit by the town arrows before the forest maze. It's just randomly being in the right spot when they fall and running in underneath before they hit the ground. Nothing special happens.
Do you have a video of that happening? I tested it pretty thoroughly, but the triggers for them aren't random, they're dependent on where on the map you step.
I'm definitely team MoM. I tend to value draft skill test vs gameplay so when color balance is off or color combos don't work then I don't have as much fun so LTR and STX and even KHM don't make my list.
I have a little crush on Pidge, shhh dont tell her. btw, on 29:50 . Are you sure, you can not be hit by arrows? I remember being hit, Mario spins and then falls to the ground.
The interaction you're thinking of happens in the factory! Forest arrows also temporarily freeze you. Rose Town arrows however are completely devoid of any interaction scripting, and the points on the ground that trigger their spawns will always send them to points on the map that are just outside how far Mario can run in the time it takes them to fall.
super mario rpg? more like super mario rng, so much rng in this game that rans can be different by one mistake or 1 freebie nice run overall the rightside mack skip scared me thought he was gonna fail

Pidgezero_One is my SMRPG hero; I watch your 5hr Most of the Things run from GDQ a few times a year, love it!
Love a lot of the runner, but Pidge just has an amazing energy about her.
That run was legendary

I just started learning Japanese and it blew my mind when she said that! YES, I definitely thing it was also put in to foreshadow Mallow's backstory!
Right side Mack Skip is the deep SMRPG speedrun lore I needed in my day. What a cool demo and a great run!
Watching this with excitement for the upcoming remaster of this game, can't wait! Also remember seeing pidge's run several years ago, it was amazing!
A crocodile wearing crocodile shoes. From now on, when I see Croco, I'm just going to hear INTERIOR CROCODILE ALIGATOR

New category. Enter name percentage.
I was just happy to see a new Super Mario RPG run, and then Pidge started speaking! I've missed her commentary of these runs recently.

I love this video so very much you have no idea
I've never seen right side mack skip before. Crazy!
Can't wait for the SMRPG remake! 😁😁
I'm actually interested in seeing what the translations will look like in the remake.
Sad I missed this live but I was in the hospital for a week. Time to watch it now!
That Hill tho :o
I actually did a Low Level, No Invincibility Star, plus Mack Skip run.
