- Are you looking for a low-cost alternative to RG-59 coax? CCTV video baluns enable installers to use unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP) or Cat5e/Cat6 cable instead of traditional RG59 Siamese coax cable to connect coax-based security cameras.
Clinton Electronics offers two types of CCTV video baluns, the CE-VB2 and CE-VB3, each designed for use with a specific cable type to transmit EX-SDI, HD-Analog (HD-TVI, HD-CVI, AHD), or Analog camera video signals.

Is there any loss of quality by using a balun? Seems much easier / cheaper to pull cat 5 or 6 rather than bare siamese cable and then have to terminate them. Or preterminated siamese and likely wrecking a connector at some point : )
Can the positive and negative power connection run through the Balun. I thought I saw holes for each but it wasn't addressed in the video.

Yes! What’s is a baylun? Is that for unbaylanced cabled?
Why does the connection need an explanation? The connections are literally idiot proof and if someone needs that explanation then they probably shouldn't be using power tools.
