    Hello. On that day, we were working with an excavator, which unfortunately broke down. That's why we didn't wear waders.
    My brother joined me so late because at the time I was starting the dam removal, then he went to pack the excavator onto the tow truck.
    Wish you enjoy watching :)

      @@doloresrivero-fonseca6314 The contract states that if the beavers rebuild the dam in the next two weeks, then, at the same price, I have to dismantle it again. However, this hardly ever happens. And in this case it did not happen :)

    Not often anymore that you get to see someone work that long at a extremely tiring job without breaks. Also not just a v cut to drain but cleared to the river bottom. Gentlemen, you have my admiration. Never did this type work but raised on a farm I know what an effort it is. How clever and strong are Beavers to have constructed such an effective dam using just materials from their immediate environment.
    We could learn a lot from Beavers.

    • @alexanderSydneyOz

    • @red94mr28
      @red94mr28 2 роки тому

      "We could learn..." Nah, their dams are swept away by floods while ours control and contain floods for centuries. Theirs can be totally destroyed by a single man in a couple of hours using only hands/hand tools or a couple of minutes if he has an excavator.

    • @msTECH86
      @msTECH86  2 роки тому +4

      That's what you have to do, the most important thing is to get the branches out of the dam, otherwise when you let them go downstream, you will get another blockage. On the other hand, with silt and leaves there is no such problem.

That is great camp fire wood for for someones fireplace I kept watching cause I thot for s ure one of ur yanks on a branch and ud have fallen on ur butt.but u didn't itive u credit took a lot of time and strength to keep doing that till it was done that's why I thot they'd have a back joe come in and do it and u could have driven it piled all the wood up and who ever wants it could have gotten it.im from PA and that was an everyday sight in the mountains in pa.but that's the most beautiful state in the world never will b a prettier state but I'm prejudice.

    I was wondering, what happens to all the stuff pulled out that goes downstream? Does it flow all the way out to what ever larger body of water there is or does it pile up somewhere else? Very nice to see a video showing hard work and the relief it can bring. Thanks for putting it our for all to watch.

    Amazing that beavers build such a structure by instinct. Complex, well braced, filled,. Makes a guy wonder.

    • @DanKoning777
      @DanKoning777 Рік тому

      Now ponder the billion+ living things on earth e.g., plants, insects, animals, etc-perfectly formed to instinctively do that which is specific to them-by chance? It's been proven the laws the "govern" all things e.g., physics, science, nature, etc *cannot* write themselves; and since that is true how can these "governing laws" exist without a "law giver?" No I don't wonder-Gods word and evolutionists like Aldous Huxley remove any doubt. Huxley's book: Confessions of a Professed Atheist:
      "For myself, as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an *instrument of liberation.*
      *"The liberation we desired* was simultaneously a liberation from a certain political and economic system and a *liberation from a certain system of morality.*
      We objected to the morality because *it interfered with our sexual freedom.”* No doubts here.

    Love your videos. You're really bringing nature back to the way it should be. I think you would be more comfortable if you would get yourself a couple of good pair of bib overalls. My husband loved them because he didn't have it helps to keep his pants up. I even honored him at the end by having him dressed in those instead of a suit. It would have made him so happy to know that. Safety and blessings upon you and yours in your endeavors and throughout your life.

      @@drexxsuma1749 I stumbled upon this site and am trying to figure it out. I was raised on a dairy farm in Northeast Pennsylvania during the 1950's. We were blessed by a large family of beavers that built a long dam that provided us with a wonderful, large pond!! We fished in it and had many meals of trout and bullheads. It attracted many migrating ducks that we hunted, and in the winter we skated on it!! Skillfully dodging the multitude of trees and wild shrubbery. What perplexed me upon discovering this channel was: Why are they DESTROYING THE BEAVER DAM?????? At the time living with our precious beaver dam, it was illegal to destroy them. It was such a gift to have had it built on our private property.

      Bringing nature back to the way it should be? Care to elaborate?
      I'm not sure I understand what you mean considering beavers, a native species, are doing what nature intends them to do. Beaver dams increase biodiversity, create habitat, as well as water reservoirs which mitigate droughts as well as forest fires.
