Saab 340 Landing

Pacific Coastal Airlines Saab 340B C-FPCU is seen landing at the Trail Regional Airport CAD4 after the flight over from the Vancouver International Airport YVR.
This is my first catch of the Saab 340, and I love these nice turboprop aircraft!

Best friend lived there in the 70's, many happy memories of that area.
Some absolutley beautiful scenery and towns around there.
Trail itself is a mill town on the Columbia river.

Awesome little outpost. These birds are still busy in Australia with REX and many are being refit for cargo. They used to be like ants at a picnic in DFW.

WOW, I really like the view of the small airport. Amazing footage. And the Saab 340 has become rare these days. I like this turboprop. Crossair, a former regional airline in Switzerland, flew very often with the Saab 340 to Bern. But that is many years ago.

Back in the day of Mesaba Airlines, a subsidiary of Northwest, they used to fly into my home drome KSTC, St Cloud, MN. They even built a control tower and a fire station at the airport, and we thought that was a big deal. Then NWA got bought out by Delta and that was the end of MSP -D-> STC, a 25 - 35 minute flight, depending on direction of takeoff.
