Definitely needs a modern update, this seems like it could be a fun and topical game. Also, you can see the era's cynicism towards government just seeping through
I always rate boardgames based on if they could break families or friendships apart and this game and it's lying system seem like they could cause unmendable rifts
I'd be more inclined to donate to the patreon if it weren't for all those unpaid parking tickets... But seriously though, thanks for covering this game! I played it a few times growing up and quite enjoyed accusing my siblings of forgery, desertion, libel, etc. Oh, and don't forget to claim $100 G's if you land on the money spot right before START
It is somewhat balanced out by the accuser needing to land on a specific space. It's more risk/ reward of if you think someone will land on the press box space before you pass go. You won't be accused for cheating every time you get a card simply because people will not always have the opportunity to accuse you.
@@Ametistias someone who's played it, the major limitation becomes "you can only do one thing in a press box". When you're packing some black eye cards, and there's three face down money cards in various hands, it's less risk/reward of accusing someone of lying, and more risk/reward of figuring out who you think is lying in the first place
The amount of (basically) free obscure board games we could have if this man just devoted a fraction of the time he spends learning about board games to learning how to make tabletop sim games
This sounds incredibly interesting and fun, but also massively overcomplicated and not finished. I would call this the rough draft of a truly great game.
Kam, are you even 35+ or near it? When can we expect a presidential candidacy attempt from you? Relatedly, your intro makin me think of that made me realise that next yr i will finally be eligible to run for president xD Which means 2028 is my earliest (barrin very unforeseen events) opportunity to become President
Win senate, die. Jokes aside this game looks awesome, I'm glad I found your channel, I'm definitely gonna play this with my friends as soon as I get the chance to!
I don't like how the game spaces force you to lie cheat and steal, I think it would be better if the player had the choice to play a good honest game but lying cheating and stealing just made winning much easyer.
There should be a punishment for the person accussing of lying about the money if I was not lying, no? If not, I can just accuse everyone of lying every time I fall in the blackbox. Or am I missing something?
That's exactly the point. Having no strong punishment for accusing people of lying means it's always beneficial for someone to accuse others. It's critical to instigate distrust during the play sessions. As it is right now, you can always accuse others, but what about the social consequences? Part of lying is convincing others so they won't want to accuse you, or they won't know what exactly. You have to think of how you look at least a little bit.
You want to run for president but you don't have any political experience? Don't let that stop you. It didn't stop Marianne Williamson and Cornel West.

There's no sex aspect. Sleeping with other party members and not having your spouse find out is an integral part of politics.
Might I recommend _Adultery_
This game is also on tabletop simulator's workshop if you want to try it yourself too.
I've really got to learn how to use tabletop simulator

I hope you eventually start dragging people into game nights and get clips for games you go over.
I wish I could get my hands on the games I cover, but most are only on E-bay for obscene amounts :(
@@kamsandwich Put a wanted ad for each of them on BGG and hope?
@@kamsandwichyou can try finding them on Table Top Simulator. Someone has even put the Campaign of North Africa on there.
@@kamsandwich late comment but a lot of them are available on tabletop simulator. Its not the same but it is something.
Cool to know Boris Badinoff had a side hustle as a board game mascot.
Ah yes inject me with that old fashioned game retroism my fine sandwich man.
Of course sir 🫡

I'd love to give this game a try if I can get my hands on it, it looks like a blast!

Unlike the other games you've talked about. This one actually seems kind of fun.
Sounds like a pretty cool game to be honest.
Going back and watching these old videos, your animation has gotten a lot better!

Missing a few crimes on the box, but this was to be sold at Toys R Us
Having no penalty for an inaccurate accusation is a major balance issue.

@@christianstonecipher1547 I guess but I do think there should be at least a minor penalty though
@@Ametistiit's just the game being realistic. Intentionally lying about your political opponent never yields a penalty for politicians
