  • It's my honor to share this fantastic :30 interview of three women who have gone global and public about their sex, love, and porn addiction recovery: Charlene deGuzman (film "Unlovable"), Erica Garza (memoir "Getting Off: One Woman's Journey Through Sex and Porn Addiction"), and Amy Smith (Worth Recovery Podcast and more). Their generosity to share their stories to help others who are still isolated and struggling - women and men - inspires me and so many others.
Hear them share what it was like to "go public" as female sex addicts, how their family and friends reacted, how they found success in sexual recovery in many different ways, what advice they would give anyone trying to heal their sexual compulsions, and much more!

I had a girlfriend who was addicted to her vibrator. She built up a tolerance so that she could ONLY orgasm with the use of a vibrator. Her continued use of “toys” escalated to the point that she ONLY wanted to have sex while using her wild and various “tools”. This became a problem as I felt ignored and slighted due to her addiction.
Still, I don’t see videos warning WOMEN about VIBRATOR ADDICTIONS!!!
    (wonder why???)
A lot of people think that vibrator use is perfectly okay and normal - but the truth is that if you can ONLY have orgasms with the use of these toys - then it is (by definition) an ADDICTION!!!

For those in central Minnesota, western Wisconsin there is Outpost Ministries for straight, gay and lesbian sex addiction. It’s a faith based approach which I found was more helpful than SAA “sex addicts anonymous.

David Ley has been a paid cybersexharms denier, working for a cybersex site. So I always keep that in mind when I consider his comments.

How to overcome guilt and shame? That is so hard

It is very difficult! I wrote about how I did it in my memoir www.amazon.com/Naked-Public-Addiction-Temporary-Insanities/dp/099626681X/ but there are many paths to shame recovery. This is a nice free overview of strategies: www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/all-about-addiction/201807/how-overcome-shame-and-build-self-confidence
