Talented actually means having the natural skill to do something or having a knack for something. If someone is naturally good at, let's say dancing, then they are talented. If you don't have that natural skill and had to learn how to dance from scratch but you're really good then you are skilled. Let's take Taeyong for example. We all know how he was so bad at dancing that his teacher thought he would never debut but now he is the main dancer of nct! Taeyong is skilled, not talented. So someone who is talented can be really skilled at something but someone who is skilled may not be talented. So if you think about it, a lot of kpop idols aren't actually talented.
Now if you think deeper you might remember exactly how rushed Loona's debut was. Considering the fact that most of loona didn't have enough time to learn a new skill and yet they were singing, dancing and rapping live to their own solo songs, I think it's pretty ironic when haters say loona isn't talented. Especially when their faves are probably not talented.
(Just putting this out there, being skilled isn't a bad thing. The fact that they are so good at what they do despite not having a knack for it in the beginning shows how determined, hardworking and disciplined a person is)

I understand your point of view, but I think we should redefined the word "talented". I don't really understand how dancing and singing can be natural skills. Those skills are not natural, they are cultural. They are not in our primary instinct. They are invented, developped by humans. I know dancing and singing exist among animals, but it's only for survival purposes : mating.
What I mean is that maybe we should use the word "talented" as a synonym of "skilled". By what I've seen, a lot of people use this word like that. When someone says someone is untalented, MOST of the time they mean there is NO skills. At the end of the day, a talent is our stronger ability. It doesn't really matter if we practice it with ease at the first time. We shouldn't define an ability by its past, but by its PRESENT.
@@ashrise I get where you are coming from and that's a really interesting way to look at it but I personally disagree. From what I have seen some people can imitate another person doing a particular skill much easier than others can even if they have had 0 experience with that particular skill.
For example someone who has never learned to play the drums is able to pick up the skill faster than their peers. They happen to have great internal rythm and are able to do the different playing styles really well, or at least much better than the other people learning with them. This particular person that I just described is what I consider talented.
Another example is a singer who has never realized that they could sing well and hence just never sung for others or even themselves but when asked to they are able to imitate any melody given to them. They also happen to have good tone and are pretty stable.
(Btw I'm not trying to convince you to change your opinion, I'm just trying to explain how I see the word talented.)
I'm not talking about the people who can learn anything quickly, I'm talking about the people who are average in most other things but find it much easier to do a certain skill. Not because of experience but instead because it just comes *naturally* to them
So talented people are basically people who can imitate a skill well and usually achieve the requirements needed to do that particular skill well. Let's look at Han from Stray Kids. He has great tone, pronunciation, flow and versatility. Han is talented. (Tone is something you can't perfect through practice btw, your just born with it)
I believe this is what talented means and I also believe everyone is talented. Although many people use talented as a synonym for skilled I don't personally think it should be used like that. I'm really sorry about the huge paragraph.

it's bbc's fault for not giving gowon, haseul, vivi and yeojin ilenough opportunities to showcase their own strengths. we see the same 4 members always being in the spotlight vs others members given zero lines, screentime AND social media freedom, and these instances gives haters ammunition to target the whole group, because why would you hide certain members? orbits would know what the girls are capable of because they follow them but a casual onlooker would would and spin stories which get out of hand. this has been a problem since hi high and although it is improving but gowon and vivi have uh huh and yeahs and a shared rap in their latest korean comeback and it makes me sad. bbc can't get it through their heads that by giving only a select member all the ops, and virtually none for the others make it more burdensome for the whole group and the company as only a certain percentage is gemerating income making investment recovery a slow process vs all 12 girls utilized and generating their own income and paying off trainee debt and investment and finally making money for themselves. unless the contract signed by the members is like got7's which the income division was 70/30 where the member earns more for themselves and only 30% goes back to the company which would make sense why the promotion has been lacking.

Its funny because talent is natural and considering they all had solo debuts while recorded as the shortest dates of training period upon entering an entertainment by overall stats is UNtalented? I cant imagine dancing or singing on stage without being a nervous wreck. And THE MOST SHOCKING... Vivi crossing seas all the way to Korea without knowing their culture and language, had only experience in modeling and acting but SINGING in FULL KOREAN and DANCING in front of a huge crowd in just a damn YEAR??? Ps. Their longest is just 3 years while the shortest is 1 day. Comparing to other groups who literally trained in their entertainments for almost all their teenage years some even 10 or more years.
Pps. I know they had training before entering BBC but to be honest schools chop your schedule from academics to vocal trainings and dancing not to mention some of them even joined before graduating and some even quit school. So I dunno if that kind of training to be "skilled enough" to debut is counted unless naturally talented (which they are). While going in an entertainment fully cooks you to be an idol. So loona having solo debuts without much experience IS FCKNG TALENT

this kpop group is one of the toughest yet! considering the fact that they debuted the same year as blackpink did but less fans.. they didn't give up! though some people might call them untalented, they are wrong they can say the songs are not their taste but never say they are untalented.
Blackpink also came from YG entertainment while loona came from a unknown/newly made company. Loona had to pave their own way for themselves, their company and their non existent juniors at that time as well. They had no seniors to pave the way for them, it was all on them. Literally the first few members had to be the senior figure for all of the other members that were debuting after them. Blackpink got the big 3 privilege, they were called the ",pretty version" of 2ne1 by YG entertainment themselves but don't get me wrong blackpink paved their own way as well but their route for that wasn't as hard as loona's was. Also loona as a whole group debuted in August of 2018, their pre-debut solos/units started in 2016. This is a big example of the big 3 privilege or now 4 privilege.

I feel like Choerry and Olivia Hye are very underrated aces in Loona. Choerry is in the bottom in terms of popularity. Olivia is known for her stage presence but her dancing skills are no joke.
@@tomorrowriru I would agree with Chuu, Yves, and Heejin, but I disagree on Lip and Jinsoul. Kim Lip is a great dancer and a decent vocalist so she's well rounded. But I don't think Jinsoul is an all rounder. She raps really well but she's said herself she doesn't like rapping. She's a decent vocalist, her vocal level is similar to Yeji, she lacks technique but overall a great kpop group singer. Her dancing is among the weakest in Loona.
I'm not saying Jinsoul is not talented but I feel that members such as Olivia and Choerry outshine her in terms of ace ability, they are better dancers and they can sing and rap too. Love to all Loona members tho.
@@chaeyoungslovie I agree with you on jinsoul and yes I also think olivia hye and choerry are more well-rounded than her, but I don't agree with you being dismissive of lip... yves, heejin, lip are the members who are strong in both the dance and vocal department and they are also some of the best performers in the group. lip has been explicitly named a main vocal for a reason but people like to overlook her. you can compare loona's vocals to other girl groups all you want, but within loona, lip is a main vocal! also, look at the amount of center time she gets. her, heejin and yves get the most overall. chuu is the best vocalist in the group by miles but her dancing is not all that great, i would put her below choerry and olivia hye when it comes to well-rounded aces.
