Yeah, so nice that most things are interchangeable on these engines. I followed the tip and tapped/formed the divider plate close to the impellers. Reduces cavitation. No overheating at all even on hot days waiting in traffic. Added an aluminum radiator, so I'm sure that helped also. Thanks for watching!
I live in Arizona 116 temps but I was hitting 260 coolant temps in 60 degree temps. I went with 160 thermostat, modern fat 2 core aluminum radiator, biggest clutch fan that would fit a stock fan shroud and an electric pusher fan in front of the radiator for when I’m stopped in traffic. Believe it or not, I was overheating with this set up but with an aluminum cold case shroud with 2 electric fans. The problem is that an aluminum fan shroud blocks about 30-40% air flow you get while driving. Taking that off and going with stock shroud and clutch fan fixed everything.
@@romano54321 Yeah, overheating on the Pontiac engines has always been an issue. Glad you found a combination that works for you. I'm fortunate to be in Minnesota where we don't get that many really hot days, but that's also means my car season is shorter.
I have a 67 GTO but I converted to a 69+ timing cover and water pump as the flow was improved
