home made log winch from old parts

I just didn't want to put too much money on that project and make something out of 2 scrapped machines that were taking place and doing nothing. It does the job but now i'd like to make it a little slower but stronger .

Good design just need a second reduction gear and lower the top pulley so it reduces the strain off the top frame or it will bend over the top frame. Most pto on tractor spin at 540rpm . just advice im very familiar with tractor equipment.

The gear box is from a tractor brush cutter. In fact, the ratio is not big enough and i would have to increase it to be able to pull bigger trees. But it sure is pretty fast when it's strong enough !!

But even if i increase ratio, the next problem is the belts that slip and wear when it's too heavy. ... Well , every machine as a limit...

Great winch. I like how you have storage in the top for saws n other supplies. The pics wasn't very clear on how you made the big pulley from the spare tire wheel. What did you make the center rid from that the belts ride against?
I have an old farm dump truck that I'd like to make this pto style winch for. Most gear box winches are very hard to reverse if you pull something too tight , but this style you can simply let off the lever to freewheel backwards. Many "👍👍👍👍👍👍"and "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

The center is made from a big disk brake that came from a big ride from amusement park !!!! Something hard to find.
