The dude playing bass is using a Billy Sheehan, scalloped neck, bass. It is not often I see anyone playing on one of those, and for that matter it is not often I see anyone who has ever heard of Billy Sheehan.
Did you talk with him at all? I've been lucky enough to do some studio work with him on several occasions, and he as always been beyond friendly with me. I've always had an extreme fascination with Paul Gilbert, and me being young at the time of playing with Bill, I asked him about 10,000 questions about Paul while kind of leaving the subject of his insane level of bass playing in the dark. If I could go back, I would have asked more questions on his insight of music. Dumb Kids, I swear.
