But in short (if you’re curious); you’ll need to be a temporary or permanent resident for at least 2 years-not being out of the country for more than 180 days total prior to paying for and taking the Mexican citizenship exam, which tests your knowledge of Spanish as well as the history & culture of Mexico.😊 I hope that helps in the meantime!
For my Temporary Residency it cost 8,023 pesos total (not including the copies. lol) and for my Permanent Residency, it cost 7,858 pesos total. Disclaimer: this was from a few years ago; and prices increase every year.
