Alma's hair never looks any better after she gets it done. Honestly I've never seen Alma in a dress, always jackets with the collar turned up. Nothing wrong with that of course, her trademark.
She looked amazing in the red wig at the disco party! Should have had her real hair done that way.
Weird how Almas apparent friends know Mike has another woman on the go but no one will tell her.

Such a weird time for Corrie. Mike and Linda. Janice and Owen (Ohhhh-in). For no reason Fred turned against Maxine and it was also strange him advising Alma that Mike probably had more money than he was letting on given how good of a friend he was to Mike.
5:09 is so freaking funny, Mike Baldwin making a witty comment.
Quiet month. Mike and Linda's affair becomes public, Danny the market trader moves his affections from Sally to Sharon, and Leanne - deliberately - blows all of her £2,000 divorce payoff at the casino. What an idiot. With her marriage over, Leanne soon reverts to type at breakneck speed. Shame, as she was showing some nicer, softer qualities only a few months before.
It's sad to see Leanne behaving like Les. Nasty.
The pressured abortion hardened her heart.

From the start Leanne's always been rash, ignorant, self-centered and oblivious to anyone or anything that doesn't conform to her idea of the universe.
The whole thing with Leanne and Gail about the $5,000 settlement is irritating. Gail's an idiot for agreeing to pay Leanne in the first place. But she's a bigger fool for allowing Leanne to treat her the way she does. Instead she's allowed Leanne to blackmail her - twice!
Martin's right. Surely even Gail, a supposedly mature woman, can handle a greedy little opportunist like Leanne?
If anyone treated me that way - much less a jumped up, 18 year-old slapper - they could say goodbye to any cooperation from me about anything ever.

Was Tyrone Dobbs an unintentional reincarnation of Jerry Booth, if anyone else remembers him? (A pre-Derek boyfriend of Mavis Riley's). Tyrone has much of Jerry's character and demeanour: a sort of diffident, bumbling good guy; well-meaning, soft-hearted, but doesn't always say the right thing and tends to get put-upon. Jerry was certainly put-upon by his work-and-house mates Len Fairclough and Ray Langton, and as I remember, I don't think his timorous romance with Mavis ever really got going. Can't remember what became of him, but Tyrone is certainly his 21st century replacement.
The actor who played him sadly died in his mid 30s, so unfortunately the character of Jerry was killed off too. ☹️
Jerry Booth was a lovely character and yes, the actor Graham Haberfield passed away in 1975 at the age of 34. I would say that Ashley was more of a reincarnation than Tyrone. Jerry never broke the law, squatted etc, chased women. Yes Tyrone had a good heart but Ashley was more in line with Jerry.

I don't feel very optimistic about Mike's new relationship with Linda. He would be better off with anyone else there, excluding Ken, even Janice Battersby, or Les.

Alma & Mike weren’t suited for each other. There was never any chemistry.
I'd feel the same as Alison though, I'd be pissed off about another's daughter like that getting in my way.
The thing is though, it's part and parcel of taking someone on who has children. Children should always come first.

Haley DOES owe Alma a debt of gratitude, not to mention loyalty. She SHOULD absolutely tell Alma about Linda and Mike. It will likely have some bearing on the divorce proceedings.

There's not a single thing that comes out of Leanne's mouth that isn't delusional.
She and Nick were married for 5 minutes and the salary she contributed during that time was a pittance. And she doesn't have the sense to listen to anyone who tries to explain that reality. She's yet another narcissist who always knows best.

A lot of people are enjoying the budding days of Tyrone and the Duckworths. I know they will become a good family, but Tyrone as a youth annoys me and I liked the Armstrong brat more. Part of me wonders whether the Dobbs got created out of writers' regret over the Armstrongs disappearing into a better life, namely with a big, wonderful, providing husband and father. Maybe they got created in their own right.
