Made it, bottom slabbed all the places it spawned (made it near my undergound base) and then it stopped working.... hmmm. seems i can reset it by hiding the zombie from the villagers....idk. its like it gets stuck.
Yeah. it like makes one then stops. 1.17.1 java. nope it works! just like 1 every 10 seconds or something. which is awesome. if it seems to stop for real just put dirt between the villagers and zombies, let them sleep, then break the blocks.

With any automatic farm, yes you need to be near it. You have to be in the same chunk as to where it was built. But this is the same as all automatic farms
