This is an example of a song where the lyrics take both sides of the conversation. They lecture blind followers while the followers are crying that the system should be torn down. This is a mechanism they use in several songs. Wait ‘till you see the video.
Exactly. Well said. Their maturity in understanding and then delivering lyrics that speak from multiple points of view is incredible. They are true artisans of their craft.
A point that many reactors totally miss as the "kill the system" chorus tends to punch them in the face and because they do, at best, a quick, superficial analysis of these much more profound lyrics.
As David Bendeth said in an interview with Rick Biato talking about bands that have a message today, "That's why I love The Warning. They have no fluff in their lyrics."
This one has an EXCELLENT official Music Video. I don't believe there are pro recorded live performances of Disciple that are released to the public....... YET.
Rumor has it, that Paulina came up with the subject matter and many of the lyrics, while the ladies were shopping in a store. That's how she rolls!!! I do know this, . . . when they play "Disciple" live, Paulina's drumming will make you feel like your going to get thumped out of the venue. Many thanks, for the stellar review!!!
Fun fact: When they were recording this in the studio, Pau sings the line "Nonbelievers Start Running". When they played it back, they all heard something that sounded like "Numberly Garfs Start Running." They didn't re-record it, they just laughed about it among themselves. They revealed that to The Warning Army and the hashtag #NumberlyGarfs was born. So, if you ever see that in the comments, you will understand where it comes from and feel more like a member of the insiders club.
For most of the songs that were released on the Mayday EP there is an official video. For Z there isn’t, but there is a live session video. For the remaining Error songs apart from Error itself there is only a lyric video… so far.
Good plan. You’ll never run out of material. As Dany says, Let’s goooo…… they’ve definitely got things to say on this album. As usual, if you can find any throwaway filler songs you’ve got different eyes than I do. ❤
Really great song the MV is super cool looking and well done as well. I appreciate your taking time to find quality sound for their live shows . Their are some decent fan made videos visually of this song but as far as I know their isn’t any pro recordings released as of now. I’m a disciple in the waiting in that front as well . Well done on the lyric message. 🤘⚡️🤘
I had no doubt when I saw you were reacting to Disciple that you'd "get it" right away. It was fun watching as you listened to the voices and seeing if you could tell when it was Dany and when it was Pau. This is a true duet, and they are playing two individuals, and it is brilliant. This is truly a view into the whole Error album experience, the duality, the argument of freedom of choice, individuality and responsibility vs giving up your whole self to a collective with a hive mind. I'm an old guy. I've lived a blessed life, seen friends not come home from fighting overseas for the fundamental freedoms now too easily given up without a fight. My father fought as a teen in WWII behind enemy lines. I can't take anything for granted. So, the edict Pau sings at the end, "You shall remain, inside your space, of ignorance." That punches every single time I hear it.
For me, this the epilogue of XXI Century Blood. We warned you…you didn’t listen…here we are. Once you see the music video we can talk about Numberly Garfs… 🤘🔥. #NumberlyGarfs
Hate will always be a friend when the sun goes down.... Whenever lies or manipulation is discovered it is called "shining the light on it". When people are "in the dark" about something, it is easy to spread the messages of hate.
To me it's about stop believing what they feed you with media and think yourself, be smart and don't stay in front of a screen feeding and not caring about the surrounding BE A THINKER NOT A BLIND FOLLOWER. (as you will see in others songs from this album )
And you're Right about XXI Century Blood Disciple and the next one will be KAK (you'll have to wait till you get there to know we all think all Three are related at some point)
From Paulina - Disciple is a song about social media, right? and how opinions are bought in social media and are fed to us in a way that we don't even know and how by like feeding ignorance and cultivating hate, like people gain a lot of power and money So that's what Disciple is about - The Official Music Video is off the charts! 🗣 Boy are you in for a ride JTMM! This new album is crazy good. No two songs are alike: a cornucopia of songs if you will. Masterful songwriting. Thanks! 🤘🤓🍿
These types of lyrics and music is why they fought for control and stayed independent for so long. I don't see this being super commercial compared to alot of the music out now. I always consider them a band similar to Rise Against and Bad Religion in the topics they sing about.
You are gonna love this album! It really is fantastic. However you missed an important song, Narcisista! It's a stand alone, so it's not on an album but it's from 2019, between QOTMS and Error. You have to check it out!
Yes, it is related to 'XXI Century Blood'. Same idea of propaganda and blind followers. They deliberately slam the song to a stop to emphasize "ignorance".
The Warning es el mejor trio de Rock actual, excelentes temas de Rock como Disciple , sus riff los rellenos de Pau tremenda baterista,la base de bajo de Ale sus coros, Dany cantando y armonisando , solo son tres pero grandes rokeras
The Quebec event was awesome. Ale was sick, Dany was just recovering, so Pau did most of the singing. All acoustic plus piano. Very intimate. Obviously many many popular songs couldn't be done. It is worth a look. The set list was developed in the car ride to the event. Zero practice.
I always love when Ale dumps a bass note (not sure proper term) in several songs. Following when their is a quick pause. Just thinking. Would it not be awesome if they did an instumenal. Featuring each of the doing individual solos and just kicking a*s. Showing other playing talents they have. Dany and Ale can play sax. Also Pau can play different styles. I noticed that Ale was tought some, slap bass technique. I think these girls are perfectly capable. Oh, for those have not seen Pau at 10yo. ua-cam.com/video/MUAhV8K-v3A/v-deo.html. "Hit Like A Girl" 16yo. ua-cam.com/video/qN9oPaBR0vw/v-deo.html.
Something to add to your list. The Warning's concert at McAllen Convention Center. Dany, "Tonight we are not going to play covers, we're going to play some of our own music." Black Holes: ua-cam.com/video/DBovJzEFgk4/v-deo.html
When this song was released it instantly became my favorite song of the EP/album and it still is. I love the songs that Dany and Pau share lead vocals! It seems to me that this whole album David Bendeth or the girls maybe? wanted to kind of highlight or put Ale's bass up front for many of the songs. Which is great especially considering that she was given her new custom 5string bass when they were in NJ recording it! Pau mentions in a interview that when she starts singing the second verse, that was the most difficult part to sing and drum at the same time for this album. But as you'll see in concert videos she got it down and kills it! ⚡🤘🏽
A totally right-on analysis. So many reviewers miss the point or don't take the time to give these lyrics their due. This is so much deeper than "she loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah." Social media divides us into groups (fishbowls, our space of ignorance), foments hate (our friend until the sun goes down), and makes us slaves (disciples) to our devices. The system, the man, is any fishbowl we're not swimming in. Disciple conveys a powerful message for anyone and everyone, regardless of the AI-generated masters we may follow. These ladies are scary good.
Well not trying to swamp you with links but here is Dany talking about the song, only 4 minutes and I suppose it's relevant. ua-cam.com/video/olYDqKc6HPA/v-deo.html
Since the entire rest of the song is sung from the perspective of the people recruiting disciples, it would be a bit weird to me if they swapped perspectives just for the one line in the chorus. It makes me wonder if they're pointing out that the people that are often telling us to 'fight the system' are actually just as corrupt as the system they claim to be fighting, and are just as likely to sell you nonsense in order to count you as a disciple amongst their ranks. In other words, I bet it's still the manipulators that are saying 'kill the system, kill the man, strip the power from their hands' - they use the excitement of revolutionary rhetoric to entice young people to fight for their pet causes - I also interpret the following line of 'your eyes will bleed as you stare at the screen' as possibly the social media mobs of revolutionary keyboard warriors/disciples that are often whipped up into a frenzy by these "fight the system" causes. Obviously, I could be totally missing the mark, but it seemed to mesh with ideas from other songs like Kool-aid Kids and XXI Century Blood.
This is an example of a song where the lyrics take both sides of the conversation. They lecture blind followers while the followers are crying that the system should be torn down. This is a mechanism they use in several songs. Wait ‘till you see the video.

They won’t waste their time writing shallow lyrics. Their awareness and comprehension of the things in the world going on around them is astounding!
As David Bendeth said in an interview with Rick Biato talking about bands that have a message today, "That's why I love The Warning. They have no fluff in their lyrics."
2 3 GO!
Good plan, cover the Error album, then you'll be free to watch whatever is out there without the worry of spoilers.
You MUST see the music video for this song.
Please check out the official video of this. The video adds to the meaning of the lyrics.
"waiting for the next" ..... youtube reaction/review video about The Warning. Sad, but true. Irony can be so ironic.

Not a rumor, it's actually from a vlog or an interview. Can't remember which. ❤✌🤘
It was shopping at a Walmart
@@joeloveland6283 In Canada on vacation if I remember correctly.
🗣 "You are correct"@@mt4design2 said in Pau's voice.
✌️🤓
Finally, you got there! Disciple is together with Evolve and Martirio my favorite on the album. Can’t wait for the rest.

Great reaction, analysis and comments again JTMM! To me it's "XXI Century Blood" part 2. Thanks!

The OMV is definitely worth a reaction along with a live performance.

Many, myself included consider this song Disciple to be a sequel to XXI Century Blood. Once again their lyrics and musical ability blow me away.
You might like watching "The Making of Error", it's a six part series. Some good information.

@@don-music KAK is "Kool-Aid Kids" the name of another song from this album that refers to almost to the same issue as XXI Century Blood And Disciple
