I love this! It’s great for soldiers to see someone as fit as you train for this test. I recently took a diagnostic, and I am now preparing to follow a plan I created. ❤️ Can’t wait to see your results.
I was Marine Corps and had no idea Army is just now adding a CFT! Meg if you want another challenge you could always go for Marine Corps PFT and CFT hehe :)
I feel like it's been a while since I've watched Meg's channel. When I heard her say Emerald's ready I did a double take and was like nooo I'm not ready. 😂😂 It took me a sec and rewinding to realize she was talking about the baby. I've rarely hear of other people with my name too. 😊
Yessss this is my kind of training. I love tactical and functional fitness. I used to body build and that was impressive. Then I power lifted and that was more impressive to me. Then I got injured a lot and I realized functional fitness and being a well rounded athlete is key (unless specifically needing to be less well rounded for sport lol). This looks so fun!
YESS. I do bodybuilding but recently I’ve started doing much more training like this (pull ups, push ups, running, sprints, etc) and I’ve literally never felt more fit in my life, it’s insane how much better I feel.
Just started your free week of training. On day 4 and I’m sore!! Lol Feels great.. wasn’t sure about some of the movements but the next day I was!! Love how you don’t complicate these workouts and you focus on heavy! Used to lift for years and always got better results from lifting heavy. Getting back at it and not as young as I used to be. Glad I found your program. Gonna join today! 👊🏼
Thanks for the review! The trick I found for the sled drag is don't go all out on that first sprint. Everyone wants to push it hard off the line but you'll be dogged by the time you get to the turn around with the sled.
The first video that I had seen of you was when you did the last test. That’s what made me subscribe :) Love ya Meg! You’re one of my favorite strong women. Definitely inspirational, definitely badass. Stay strong bby girl💖
"Ryan jumped so automatic fail" Technically you're allowed to jump just as long as you don't go past the starting line when you do. Ryan just jumped back too much lol Also, I love how Meg seems so fun and bubbly and her little brother seems so serious 😂😂 I wonder if he's still so serious off camera. P.S I agree with Cody, I prefered the leg tucks. Was lowkey salty when they removed them 😭 The last time I did an ACFT, I was about 30 seconds into the plank and told my grader "I could've been done with my leg tucks by now, sarge"
A lot of people left the Army because of this test. Originally, there was going to be a single scoring system, regardless of gender or age. Additionally, originally there were no alternate events approved. This meant that a lot of people who have served a long time or deployed and were injured could not physically perform the test. I'm glad to hear these changes being made. The leg tuck alone could have eliminated nearly half the women in the Army, so Congress got involved and said, hey, you need to justify why you want to kick out people who successfully completed basic training because you suddenly want them to do a leg tuck.
I personally had preferred they kept it as gender neutral. A soldier should be able to perform the tasks regardless of gender, if that means dead carrying your 200lb squad mate off the battlefield then so be it. The new limits for women are so ridiculously low it's almost insulting. 120lb deadlift?! That's not even my first warm up set.
On the leg tuck bit. A. The MINIMUM amount of reps needed to pass was 1. B. Please, in a combat situation, get to a low wall. You have to hop over over and proceed to do a plank in front of it till you get over it. I'll wait.
Yes! More informative videos. We need to change the perspective of women and people, on how our body have to look when we gave birth. And change the mind that we have to look like certain way! Great video!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Maybe I'm a masochist, but training for this sounds really fun. Are you just adding in this stuff on top of SBTD, or are you following any different kind of programing to prep for this?
I'll be running the full Stronger by the Day programming, but substituting out some movements to train for this. I'm also adding in cardio regularly. I'll definitely cover more specifics in upcoming videos!
Can't wait to see the specifics on how you're training for it, I've been running SBTD and incorporating ACFT training almost like strongman training by doing an "event day" each week since a lot of it is equipment and space heavy.
love this series. Don't believe you are using correct sled. Nylon drag on grass. I trained with metal sled then used the acft sled. It was definitely harder. What type of grass makes a big difference also
I strongly recommend and would love to see a collaboration with Brian Alsrhue. My husband pays for his workout program and I subscribe to stronger by the day. Depending on how we feel and what gym we are at determines which workout we do. We think the workouts compliment each other really well. Here’s hoping, wishing, and crossing fingers you’ll consider a collab with him.
You should also take a look at the Canadian Armed Forces PT test - a little bit different, with only 5 minutes between each of the 4 sections (but there is no 2 mile run 😁 - of course the drag is 225+ and last).
I am almost 52 years, never tried a 2-mile run and I wonder what the time for men my age or young guys is because the pass time for Meg is a recovery jog for me and while I never tried a 2-miler, I seem close to Meg's acing times according to Strava, but it was in a 5k race, so I was definitely not trying to hit my 3 (3.2) k paces.
Wait... why did they reduce the requirements for women so much?! 200lbs deadlift is easy! Heck I could probably even pass the run without even training and I'm terribly unfit. There's no need to have such a low bar smdh
I don’t understand the army changing things to make it easier on people who were failing. Or having age or gender categories. Either you’re good enough and deserve the position or you arent. It’s so stupid to have lower requirements for different people and change a test because some people can’t do it. If you can’t do a leg tuck, I don’t want my life depending on you beside me

I am so glad I got out of the army before the ACFT, it takes so long to go through the test with your whole unit
I was Marine Corps and had no idea Army is just now adding a CFT! Meg if you want another challenge you could always go for Marine Corps PFT and CFT hehe :)
If I can pass the ACFT 6 months postpartum. You are most definitely gonna beast it. 👏🏼

Omg I’ve only heard of one other Emerald! 💚💚💚
As an Army gal and subscriber to SBTD, I am so excited to continue to watch you through this and train for it with your help!!
Meg: My little baby brotherrrr ❤❤❤❤
Cody: I'm Cody. 😐
😂😂
😂

because of this video series I'm going to be training to do the navy PFT with my husband when he does his
I’m exited to see this series and your results. Looking great and strong. Your gonna ace it.

Thank you for this tip!!
I enjoy these shorter, straightforward videos. Thanks & Love ya!

You're a real life superhero hun! Can't wait to see more!
I would love to see you collaborate with Austen Alexander!
Meg sounding a lot like most of us soldiers about that 2 mile run lol
Can't wait to see you ace this test Meg! You'll do great I know it.
great video Meg!!!!👏👏👏👏

I'm ready to take my ACFT next month and I been training for this for a while!
How did it go?

I’m so glad you’re doing this series! Thank you!
I'm too excited to see you ace through this meg, you can do this my strong strong friend 💪🏼🤙🏼🔥 awsome to see more of your brother in the videos 😎
Yo I hadn’t watched megsquats in like a decade and damn she got so much more volume now! Way a go!
Hexagon brother, hence hex bar. Not octagon. Also, jumping doesn't terminate you on Standing Power Throw, as long as your feet don't go over the line.
Those damned Meg double bicep shots are the seciest thing ever. Wow, she looks good and strong.
love this series. Don't believe you are using correct sled. Nylon drag on grass. I trained with metal sled then used the acft sled. It was definitely harder. What type of grass makes a big difference also
This is great, I can't wait to follow and get motivated!
You got this Meg!👊🏻

Question for the editor: St. Davis or Sgt. Davis @0:39?
She's just over 15 pounds" -Ryan ahahahahaha. Love you it! Can't wait to see this journey!
The leg tuck was easier than the darn plank. Ugh
I did 15 nonstop (F/39)

Great Vid mEg!
Great vid Emerald is so cute 🥰
Great camera. What kind?
Will you start adding condition in the program on Stronger By the Day??
You got this your a strong strong woman. Looks like Emerald ready to take the test now.
Yeeees 🖤
if you can go through Reif's 7 minute plank challenge without a break you're gonna ace at planks with ease
Hey did meps ask for your medical records and pharmacy history 🤔
Hey yall sould do a collaboration with Nick bare.
“When you give birth, your abdomen separates”... You’ve obviously never ate Taco Bell.
Wait... why did they reduce the requirements for women so much?! 200lbs deadlift is easy! Heck I could probably even pass the run without even training and I'm terribly unfit. There's no need to have such a low bar smdh
Once you see results, it becomes an addiction.
New age limit for air force and army are 43.
Meg looks like your going back to crossfit training for this one ... good luck
