She really made a great case for herself to do the AA at worlds especially now that she can medal on vault/floor. I really can’t predict the qualifications and team finals lineup now
@@londonstewart2544 idk actually it's not so easy to predict the lineup now. The four people definitely on the team are Leanne, Jade, Jordan, and Shilese. If Leanne can do AA, part of me says just let them all do AA in qualifying with the fifth and sixth team members (probably Blakely and Zeiss) both serving as alternates. Yes Skye at her best would probably go on beam, but she's inconsistent and has been having problems with her splits. If Leanne is limited to UB/BB, then the lineup questions become trickier. Jade/Jordan/Shilese is a great vault lineup but I would want another FX option on the team in case Shilese doesn't score well in qualifications. Someone like Katelyn Jong or Katelyn Rosen.
Yes, Yes, Yes, she put the full twisting double layout in her routine (stuck the landing)! I was smiling the whole way thru on this routine. CONGRATULATIONS Jordan Chiles!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m always excited to see a 14+ FX score at an international competition. You can tell she’s so into her floor music too which makes her dance more expressive.
College is a game changer now. It was where you went after your elite career, now it's the next step to the next Olympics. I think it will do more for these ladies when it comes to their longevity and consistency than the ranch ever could, and in a positive way.
@@bojohns77I agree but only in specific cases. Like for Jordan she already has all her skills she just needs to work on her consistency and fine tuning. But like gymnasts like Leanne I’m not so sure it’s the best thing for her right now cause she still has elite stuff to work on but regardless college is still very good for her
8.250 e score, really her best ever elite routine. clean tumbling and landings and they are doing well to hide her bent leg in the leap by having it away from the judging panel
@@mchur001 that’s huge for her! Granted, her artistry and performance quality is also so much better here than it was in Tokyo, so I’m sure that that helped. But her execution in general is cleaner, especially on the tumbling. I really hope that she gets a floor medal at Worlds. This routine is actually really fun and engaging to watch.
@@asharadayne6159 She could win Worlds with this routine. It is also helpful that the new Code benefits her and she got rid of the front double full into front full which caused her a lot of problems.

@@Hervinbalfour yup! I think it was the us classic that was the first time seeing it this year and I was really surprised. I thought she would take it out but hopefully it can get even better

@@hectorramos4487 Both Chiles and Carey have been slowly upgrading their elite routines after finishing NCAAs. They have had these upgrades planned and had been doing them during NCAA season.
Always loved her form, she is pretty much textbook in most of her tumblings! Such a beautiful, complete gymnast. I was wondering if this particular choreography is the right fit for her, though...I'm not an expert and I'm still desperately trying to understand the new code, specifically the parts regarding the artistry deductions, so please correct me if I'm wrong! Wouldn't this routine risk to be penalized for "lack of complex choreography"? Also, she seems to be repeating pretty much the same movements when she is pausing at the corner...that would be an artistry deduction now, if I'm not mistaken!
Yes, that's a deduction for lack of complex choreography. I think her corner variety (different movements and not a deductible pause) is there so unlikely it's a deduction. Maybe there's a deduction on lack of choreography touching the floor. It's hard not to get artistry deduction. Those who don't get them have potential to reach 8.5E with very clean routine.
@@cocoroni1031 Thank you so much! I have re-watched the video following your comment and I definitely agree with you now, the "corner choreo" is just fine, like you said. I'm still struggling to understand the new rules, so thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction!
Anyone else notice Laurent on the side cheering her on. I also noticed him watching Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos when she fell out of of the bars. It was like he really wanted to go over and encourage her, but he couldn't, even though she's been training with him and Cecile to help her bring her confidence up.
Chiles did this very well, but so many gymnasts don’t hold their legs together in pike positions. Is the discount for this very small? Also, I wish that wolf turns could be eliminated entirely. It’s an unattractive move and it always breaks the routine because of the setup involved. It’s better on the balance beam, but still not a great looking move.
No deduction for not holding legs together unless it's leg separation or not piked enough for pike element without twist (e.g. double pike). Wolf turns are very valuable because this is the only D+ dance element that can be easily and ridiculously credited. Unless there's strict shape requirement, more gymnasts will attempt it with the fact that other elements are so easy to be downgraded by judges.
Fun routine, she's so talanted. I don't like her jump L 1/1 turn, it's a little crooked, and I don't think she's getting her Gogean all the way around. The only jump L 1/1 I've seen that looked cool was Diane Dos Santos'.
The first pass would be perfect for her to go back to her old 1.5 twist to Arabian double like she did in 2017-2018, but add a punch front or layout ala Alexandra Raisman! I know that she was training that before she switched to WCC. 🔥🔥❤️❤️
Her routine is looking so clean. I have to say, I hate her music. I think it’s really annoying honestly. I definitely think upbeat is for her and this music actually has a very slow beat and lack of instruments. Could be blended much better… Just very bland music to me and she’s not a bland gymnast. I wish she had different music, and also different choreography. I think her choreo is boring and random and whoever put the routine together just didn’t show her off. I dont feel this routine choreographically shows her off the best she can be, compared to how Simone’s 2016 Fx routine fit her and Laurie Hernandez’s 2016 FX. The routine itself has a lot lacking, (coming from a former gymnast and ballet dancer and current gymnast coach and choreographer) but her actual skills and requirements are great!
Can't wait for the gender neutral to take over gymnastics. So women aren't forced to dance to stupid music on floor routine. Just like guys don't have to!
Kinda wanna gender neutral option on floor routine where women are judged soley on tumbling pssses like the men's floor routine. Not all women or gender neutral people wanna prance around like a ballerina to silly music on their floor routine.
