OMG this game is so beautiful, the cards, the sheets, the tokens, everything is perfect for my eyes; and the game looks great! I'm embarrassed for knowing it after so many years hahahah Thanks for showing the game.
I stumbled into your video by coincidence, but you had me since the first moment. Really looking forward to buy the game(now are like 4 expansions out so, good for me!!!)
Love your video! Had some good laughs! :-) Just bought the game and have played it through solo a couple of times. Will try it in a two-player setup in coming the weekend. Looking forward to that.
was there a mistake at 17 min? as you had more gold pogs, you would fight first and kill the sorceress BEFORE she could activate and give you 2 damage, correct?
i liked the 2nd edition that he showed more. both dice types were better, higher quality, less confusing, less complicated, and faster for me. i know why people hate dice and i feel the same, except dice take out decision making, move the game faster, and they are nastalgic. his 2nd edition video got right into the fun part of the game, in this 3rd edition vid it felt slow and boring like its a totally different game i would be less like to buy. his (your) videos are very good, and i don't mind the camera work, it zooms in and is way more organic than an alternitive. audio is also perfect and so are the descriptions of instructions.
hey, I wanted to buy this game but I'm from México, I do speak english and understand it, but most of my friends don't so I wanted to know are there thing that we have to keep a secret from eachother?, like cards that are important that we don't show to other players? cuz I can't play it like that since I have to translate everything.
i show all the text of the game in the video, so you can check that out to see if it's too much translating for you to do. but iirc there's no need for secret information...
If moving takes an action, and exploring takes two, and an adventure quest may cause you to spend one action, you are over debt by one action, would you just wait until next turn then?
This is the game I've been looking forever. I've been working on a very similar game idea set in feudal Japan. Thought this type of game didn't exist already. My game features more dragons and numerous tests to prove your willpower (when you flip the tokens) I definitely have to play this game to see what I can change, but this game seems impossible to find. Is it really that rare? My game is like the journey to become the best samurai in the land.
wow i didn't realize it was so hard to find. here's 200 or so poeple who are looking to trade their copy... maybe they'd trade for some cash? :) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/181530/runebound-third-edition/trading?status=fortrade
@@rahdo I didn't think about the second edition which is a lot easier to come by. Do you think in terms of play mechancs the two editions are significantly different? I think the third edition should be a revamped improved edition of the previous one ( better look, better components quality, stats improved/corrected....) but still the same game. Let me know if you know more! Thanks
@@b89oj they both capture the same sense of travel and adventure. the main difference is combat is resolved differently, and the way the monster encounters "level up" over the course of the game. in a lot of ways, the 2nd edition is superior actually :)
I really dislike those Pogs. I'm all for innovation in games, but these are clumsy and it's a stupid idea that should have never made it out of the brainstorming meeting. Too bad, there is a lot to like with 3rd edition, too. But I'll stick to 2nd for now.
You do a really great job of deemphasizing the fantasy of this game. It's gold, not buck or dollars. You're walk-thru really sucks all the fun out of this game.

I really didn't like the idea of tokens but after having bought this I can say that it works well. First fantasy game that my wife enjoys.

Nice run through really enjoyed this great game 😊

there's already a Klingon Subtitle at 17:13 I don't know if that's what you are referring to

It's getting about 4 expansions or so any week/month now with Fantasy Flight Games marking them as 'On The Boat' whatever that means.
They could have used dices, with rune symbols instead this tokens witch i really dislike.
Not at all... You have to use tokens one by one: with a dice for that way, isn't possible...
Like HeroQuest. The best thing about HeroQuest are the dice !

tbh i'm not sure. i don't remember adventure quests forcing you to spend additional unexpected actions, but it's been months since i've played
rahdo I actually asked that question before watching the whole video, sorry, its when you are in the location in which you spend an action.
I live in the uk and can’t find this anywhere online (for a reasonable price)! I’m so sad!!
you're not alone :(
Just get a bag and put the tokens inside, shuffle and turn it over :)
what is the name of the box where you throw the dices?
sorry, i don't understand the question. do you mean a "dice tray"?
One die. Two dice. Knife dices.

Own it, love it, and YAY expansions are now out!!! (I prefer these dice over the 2nd ed)
I would suggest a tripod, hard to focus.
check the show notes... :)
is this an id friendly game 12+
yup, i reckon so
I'd even say 7+ if they use 7+ for Mansion of Mandess which is a horror-themed game. But then again, it depends on your child and it's up to you
this game seems like it still has the problem of long player turns while the rest of the table swiddles their thumbs

You have the voice of a tv show host n.n
He sounds a little like the dude on Kahn Acadamy :D Sorry for necro.
HOW MANY TIMES DID HE SAID "BUT"!?
307
This seems to have way too much RNG and too little actual tactics and strategy.
2nd edition is way better
2ed is far superior. This is garbage
You are right you are a coward in this game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

sounds like you value different things in your gaming than me, and therefore my show's not for you.
No. It is not.
Way to voice your opinion in a respectful and considerate way. I'm sure you're tons of fun to play with.
flip tokens, i wont be buying this game...
also i got motion sickness with the camera moving all over the shop.
