Amazing as always. Loved the little flub around 2:00 when his stick gets caught on a drum rim. Good to see even the world's best makes mistakes. We've all been there.
Yea I caught that too and was fixin’ to comment on it when I saw 👀 your comment. 🥁. It shows what to do … just keep going. Everyone makes mistakes… he’s amazing 🤩.
Yes, but the ability to recover is what makes a pro. I remember seeing Chad Smith break a stick in concert; in one motion, he threw it into the crowd, picked up a new one, and never missed a beat.
Had to tape a piece of foam in that spot on my tom because I am prone to doing the same thing and don't want to dent or scratch my shell makes me feel better seeing one of my favorites make the same mistake I have countless times
Absolutely incredible. Funny how some folks are commenting on a “mistake” 😂. If you’re worried about making a mistake you can’t really let go. Took a lesson from JoJo in the early 90s and the cat is a true artist. Pros don’t skip a beat
Love it .... and his astonishment wna dthe happy smile after when he stuck the stick under that tom rim. Jojo seems to like mistakes as it shows him that he´s human and not a machine.
Jojo doesn't so much play the drums as he does dance them, if that makes sense. He's unmistakable, and inimitable. So inspiring to watch and listen to.
Jojo is the real deal! I saw him play with the RCM big band a few years ago, and he lifted and united them and they played out of their skins - he was intensely listening to them all and responding to what they were doing. An actual proper musician as well as a technical genius.
I was looking for something recent he had done. This did not disappoint. Jojo has still got it, and if possible even got better! Such a wicked drummer.
Amazing as always. My biggest fear while playing is dropping a stick or accidentally jamming it into a tom rim. It's reassuring to see, that even those with the best technique can make mistakes, but it's all about how you persevere through the rest of the song/solo.
It's not about the mistake it's about how awesome that recovery was and it didn't get up in his head when he was doing the back and forth floor Tom kick drum he went to switch that up a little and got the f*** away from it but all in all Man it's amazing that you can be that good and still be humbled at times. He could have dropped both sticks and started crying and I still would have been like nah you're good you got me. Lol Love his sound! All in all they sound like drums but they got the perfect boom crack warmth and sing that I look for especially in the jazz department. It's so funny Bonham basically took a jazz drum open as in not muting tuning concept and applied that two huge oversized drums and then add his swing jazz influence and power and well you know what you get. I was listening to outtakes of them just kind of playing in a room it sounds so much like rooms I've been in. It's amazing just how they would get on a cool riff or a groove and just hang on it for a long time taking chances over playing but it was truly amazing and one thing they did is they constantly recorded and I implored people I've played with over and over we have to constantly record when we're writing. Well kids nowadays you don't have to deal with other people. Lol
Everytime the saxophonist smiles it brings me joy.
Same
She's kina cute tho
YOOO!!! THE SINGLE BASS PEDAL DOUBLES!!! DAMN🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥THAT FOOT TECHNIQUE at the end😱
Not only technically insane, but groovin & interesting to listen to..definitely one of the greatest to ever do it.
Not gonna lie. One of the most entertaining, musical, not cliche drum solos i've seen. Bravo
Amazing as always. Loved the little flub around 2:00 when his stick gets caught on a drum rim. Good to see even the world's best makes mistakes. We've all been there.
I can do this easily,,,,,, more than hit the freakin drum, lol.
Yea I caught that too and was fixin’ to comment on it when I saw 👀 your comment. 🥁. It shows what to do … just keep going. Everyone makes mistakes… he’s amazing 🤩.
Not a mistake , part of the instrument .

Jojo has really embraced big band drumming. And we're all better for it.
What great memories for those kids. And it’s great to see the evolution of Jojo’s solos throughout the years
Brilliant. JoJo Mayer is a monster.
Check out Vinnie colauita 👍
Yep And the older he gets, The better he gets.
@@terryreknaw6152 well yeah Vinnie is better, he’s one of the goats
Genius...im selling my kit!!!😂
@@terryreknaw6152 Jojo always gonna be favoured by me. And its not even close. His style and technique combinde are insane.

That's a vintage sound. So cool.
No other drummer produces such irresistible and delicious grooves within a solo. I clicked and could not turn away
Oh stop. No other.. vinnie, weckl.. stop being ignorant
@@morbidmanmusicsteve gadd is the king of groove
The faces 😮 from the time signatures and playing 😅 jojo is a beast and that's not saying enough. ❤

Watching the band watch him was the lesson
Yeah, the smirks of disbelief and awe from the kids were awesome 😎
Thank you for showing bass pedal footage too!!
Awesome! Jojo speaks the language of drums so beautifully. Dynamic, technical, with feeling!
Super Great Solo!!! Great Style and Sound!! Technique at very high level.....
Loved the heel in the batter head trick! JoJo is a ton of fun to watch!
great performance.
Jojo going for it . the ideas . on the edge , where the best stuff happens. i respect and love that.
Great solo n great drummer. And those Sonor drums sound so lively and round!
Respect. Fantastic accompanist, brilliant solo work. Riveting.
Very creative solo in a big band context. Not what you would expect. Jojo Mayer is amazing.
The kids in the background fully loving it! This is ace!
I was looking for something recent he had done. This did not disappoint. Jojo has still got it, and if possible even got better! Such a wicked drummer.
The intentional space he creates, and not just playing blazing fast rudiments across the kit........sets him a part as a drummer AND a musician.
Amazing. The true talent is continuing through the flub like nothing. Mental fortitude.
Talent is not having to train to avoid such a common mistake. He doesnt have that or the skill to avoid jamming a stick on an easy roll.
Might be the best Jojo solo ive ever heard. Incredible.
I mean all of his solos live are insane.
All that wonderful space! Miles and miles of it
He is a real Drummer. Gene Krupa, Ginger Baker, Ringo Starr, and Jo Jo Mayer are my favorites 😁👏🏻👍🇦🇷
ginger is a hack and should not be on that liat
Super stud extraordinaire. All hail. We are not worthy.
Absolutely brilliant
Insane play while keeping it musicaly
I feel the vapers with every beat. The drum solo is a fantasy come true. ☮️♥️🙌🏾🤯
I hate solos…except this one…so musical, so inventive….surprising and exciting! 🙌🙌🙌
The drums sound great!
Always cool and classy from JoJo. 👏
Such a creative jazz solo
Entre os vivos Jojo Mayer é o melhor batera.
Glad to see he's still busy !
The Goat !!!!
Too damn cool. Much respect.

Amazing es poco... Es bestial lo que tocó ese muchacho!!!! Excelente Jojo!!
The Jojo can perform any style of music-

Mr. Jojo Mayer is a true master of his art.

Love JoJo.
좀 빨리 끝내지 애들 점심 먹으러 가야 돼는데
배고파 언제 끝날지 계속 쳐다보고 있네
Thank you so much for posting this
That Girl in the background is feeling it!
How does this man keep improving at this age!?!?
Absolutely insane!
Till ya watch buddy play it at 80 years old... this starts to just look okay.
This solo was a breath of fresh air from the standard "just watch me play rudiments really fast" solos that most drummer do
His footwork is insane
WOWWW
Not the tennis shoe on the snare 😂 love me some JoJo
brilliant!!!
Jojo ❤
Parabéns. Best teacher. Está com aparência ótima. On drums is the best. Marvellous. God bless you all .
Brilliant!
Amazing as always.

Jojo mayers playing gave me a stank face because of how good it was 1:15 to 1:28 was soo smooth

How is it that kids nowadays dont have to play with others?
Literally the first time I've ever seen him make a mistake.
its great to see someone elses stick get stuck in the tom hoop...lol epic solo, kit sounds unreal..
"Time Check", right? I've played this Buddy Rich tune.....anyone have a link to the full recording with Jojo? I'd like to hear what he does with it.
WoooWW
The fade out kick drum is cool as fuck

Glad he's not losing it as he gets older
Yet. We all,do.
Perfect technique

Sweet like sugar... 🎉
No sólo es técnica para hacer un buen solo hay que tener buen sentido musical👐
Papa Jojo Jones
Légende 🥰
I know you can do much better, but I admire how you go out on a limb to be creative. 💕
Jojo is the closest we have seen to Buddy Rich in terms of feel
"We". No.
Reminds me of the time I knocked a drum kit of the back of a lorry
Yes
Off topic...but that dark haired girl in the background is soooo beautiful.
He's an assassin. He's got so much technique, it's nasty.
