The way Sainz talks about that 1995 rally tells me that (as I knew) back in the day he didn't like Colin McRae. Fortunately they became friends later.

A man who certainly deserved more titles, but more importantly like another Spanish 2 time champion (i.e. Fernando Alonso), made some questionable career choices. From leaving Toyota at the end of '92, to leaving subaru at the end of '96, this definitely cost him at least 2 more titles. More importantly, the amount of titles he has lost at Wales (5) is just staggering and would give any normal person significant trauma 😂

man could not drive in the british forest. but yes he should've been a 3 or 4 time champion. He easily could've beat Auriol in 94 in a celica

​@@InTecknicolourAuriol was not a walkover driver tho. He won 20 world championship rallies not 4 or 5. Hugely underappreciated. He did beat Sainz in 1999 and led the championship for a brief moment the same year. I dont think Sainz would have beaten him easily. Didnt he also went head to head with Kankkunen in Finland back in 92' and beat him in a straight fight to win the rally on Juha's home soil? Auriol one of those drivers that is rated below his ability simply because hes French

@@srxt6758i think it's more that auriol had the reputation of being very great on tarmac and less so on other surfaces. I know he won a lot but Sainz was in his time, a great all arounder.
it's just that sainz somehow had a weakness on British gravel.

Mcrae sainz and prodrive is a winning combination, if carlos stay in prodrive for a while there is no point mitsubishi and makinen dominated the wrc

1995 when Colin run out of talent, almost run over his mechanics and disobeyed team orders from D. Richards after realizing he couldnt Beat Carlos-Luis super talent . Another shameful champion.
