Well, this is unexpected video from Fifth Gear. I can still remember the days when I used to spend my time playing CMR 2.0 on my PSOne, great times. Thank you Colin for helping making rally popular to new generations of rally fans...
Legendary fast guy. He will never be forgotten.... With love from Ukraine. I wear a T-shirt in his memory and it reminds everyone around him of him and his achievements.
11:40 Love the way any British bit of film from inside a car, always has the little insert shot of the driver changing gears! Miss little things like that in an ever increasing automatic world....
5:25 - 5:39 I'll never forget watching it on TV. This is still shocking to me and hard to explain. For me Colin was robbed by Skoda. Back then, only the clutch needed to be repaired, and that replacement by specialists from the factory team should take 15-20 minutes. I think the repair was delayed only because it was Skoda's last WRC rally and they were ashamed to admit that the Fabia had potential but their drivers are weak. Schwarz was already an old driver, Tuohino and Passonen did not live up to expectations and Alex Bengue was a typical pay driver.
I think his time with Ari Vatanen was peak McRae as they went on to give Subaru legacy it's first WRC victory in 93 rally new Zealand...both totally insane and utterly peerless 👹👹😈😈
Colin showed our generation how to ride like an arrow in the worst road conditions. The current generation is worried about how to drive sideways on perfect asphalt!!!
I still remember where i was when I heard It. 2007 on the island of malta. Just arrived at my hotel for the week & by chance the tv was on a british news channel. But I must say the speaker forgot tommi makinen at 2.45 ...
2:05 Да, драйва больше нет. Все стало слишком напомаженным и гелем уложено. Формула 1 в миниатюре. Но таковы тенденции рынка. Деньги сейчас у маменькиных сынков. И весь мир для них.
Sadly Colin was a show off and killed more than just himself in the helicopter he wasn’t type approved to fly…ok he was a great driver but he killed innocent people along with himself..look it up if you get time his crash was avoidable 100%

Good times, thanks Colin
Considering it was a channel 4 documentary, back when they were covering the WRC in 2002

He is pretty much the reason we drive Subarus. Thank you Colin!

Colin in the Blue Subaru with Gold Wheels is forever a Motorsport Icon! RIP
"RIP"? for a "man" who's responsible for the deaths of three people (including two children). Umm no thanks.
Brought rallying to the masses
16:47 'There were a few ups and downs that year' a bit of an understatement Colin! 😂👌
I still miss this man, dearly and badly
We miss you Colin
If in doubt, flat out !!

I rember an interview with an F1 driver who was asked "Why not give WRC a go?". His response was "No thanks, I'm not insane".
Was it Alonso ? Who said he wasn't talented enough for that. I think I remember reading about this somewhere
@@Chabarnacle I think it may have been vettel?
@@wadegarrett7376 I'm thinking Alonso since he had a break between 2018 and 2021 where he tried a lot of stuff
Well he is responsible for the deaths of three people so he's slightly insane
@@pht9317 Wait, what?
miss the 90s the early 2000s was such an exciting time to be alive
this is an early birthday present for me
❤ RIP Colin, we miss you
I met Colin and his co driver at the time, not Nicky Grist.
He was so quiet and yet I moved in late 00 to up the road in Inverclyde.

❤❤❤.... Ogier comes a close second 👍
I love how Colin was supposed to let Carlos win "Because Carlos was ahead at the time"
Yo, that is not how racing works. That's how corporations act.
WRC史上、最高のドライバーだった❤
WRC doesn't even come to the UK anymore
Colin is like the crazy guy you better have not to tempt to race against on roads....
Terbaik Boboiboy🎉🎉🎉

It is if you are competing...against the clock, team mate and Arch rivals who want you out.
