I smiled and laughed. And the trick to GM uniset is to crank them all the way in, then back them out 2 1/2 turns. Use a dwell meter to set them at 30 degrees. Feeler guage is for Ford boys.
If I tried for a hundred years I could never make content as great as this. The slow mo pressure washing had me on the floor laughing again for like the 30th time ha ha ha. Man that Chieftain cleaned up amazing. great work!!!!

Know these cars well. Family had a 1941 Pontiac 4 door with straight 8. Won some money with it going up a steep in 3 gear start at 25 MPH. Few cars could match that torque. What a beautiful Youngun you have. The greatest gift you will ever get!

It immediately reminded me of the times I spent down at Ft Sill, Oklahoma for Artillery training in 1970 and ending back up at Ft Sill again in 1971 when I got back from Vietnam. At home solution to removing swaged drums from front hubs on older cars:
If you don't have a press, get some 5/8" hole saws. The stud will just barely slide inside, and then you can cut away the drum from around the stud.
You will want a couple hole saws, as cast iron is a pain to cut, plus some cutting fluid won't hurt.
I had to replace the studs on my hub anyways, so was a quick/cheap solution to do it at home in the garage.

Hot damn! 200k is coming my friend! Keep up the fun! Find yourself a dwell meter, it will allow you to set the points more accurately than a feeler gauge. Dwell is the amount of time the points are closed. If you set the dwell on the high side you get a hotter spark. If you set the dwell on the low side they tend to stay in adjustment better because you have a bigger window in which they wear because they typically wear towards the high side.

Hey Puddin' from a fellow Okie. Get you a couple green bean cans from the trash. Drill some holes and build a handle out of wire. Perfect for soaking small carb parts. You can buy gum out by the gallon at the parts store. It works better than vinegar. You can reuse it many times. Love this channel.

Hey puddin still watching some past videos when you talked about using a muffin pan for parts when rebuilding your carburetor. If you want to take it to the next level you can use a old speaker magnet and glue it on the back of the muffin pan. Now the whole pan is magnetic
That car is a beautiful example of what amazeing designers were in the 50s etc ,I'm in New Zealand we don't see to many awesome cars like in USA,but some you may want to look up is pre 70s Holden's I owned most models ,they were Australia's tri five chev ! absolutely can't help but binge watch your vids you're living the dream brother good on you !

We had a '58 Pontiac Chieftain that was totaled in September '68 when it had an argument with an 18-wheeler. Miraculously nobody was hurt. Ours was a 2-door, 2-tone blue.
