After travelling in sleeping busses in india and abraod i could make out below points 1) Luxury busses take 1-2 hrs more than normal buses when travelling in long distances ( 12+ hrs) 2) Road infrastructure need to be best as theh make lots of vibrations until you are too tired you cant sleep 3) forget about doing work in these buses ( i mean using latops) even reading a novel is hard 4) Driver need to be very skilled when it comes to turning .. breaking 5) pls dont try to compare it with airflights cabin as both are using different medium of resistance ( air has least resistance compared to road)

If the luggage compartments are modern like other buses of developed countries? These are the things which are needed to be reviewed in judging the quality of a bus.
For ride comfort the quality of the road plays a major role. In the last few years some of the highways have improved very drastically. With that being said most Omni bus operators are maximizing their profits by running the buses to do upto 3trips within 24 hours if the distance is within 500kms between 2 cities. Earlier Omni buses were upto 45 seats with push back seats but the new buses are semi sleepers with 36 berths and fully air-conditioned.so definitely quality of the travel has improved. Agree with the rest of the points to discuss the features of the vehicle.
Due to engine reliability issue, bus operators used to prefer Ashok Leyland at any point of time. But now, hopefully with Cummins engine, now there may be a good improvement. May Tatas do well in export market also.
Tata engines are reliable but the problem is vibrations and engine noise and jerking.ashok leyland engines are silent with less jerking and vibrations.that is why most of the sleeper buses are made on ashok leyland chassis.

This is not multi axle... So cannot compete with Volvo multi axle sleeper buses... The comfort level of Volvo multi axle sleeper bus is next level... Tata should have launched multi axle sleeper buses...
All bus manufacturers in India has started offering air suspension on front axle in front engine buses but Tata is very rigid & foolish in not offering it as an option also Bharat Benz has captured good market share in sleeper bus segment as they are offering front air suspension as standard in their chassis

As a traveller I prefer silent cabin which is available only in Volvo with rear engine. SCANIA, Benz failed low cabin noise compared to Volvo. Tata and eicher Leyland have ong way to go
Also, Indian manufacturers don't know how to make low floor buses. Volvo, Scania etc looks low slung, sleek and beautiful, but here all manufacturers have a habit of making everything too high which makes it look primitive

Tata Sleepers Magna is coming in TC model or Tata Turbo engine because Cummins engine symbol is missing on Front portion and Tata motors model is missing.Train is the very first choice in India and it doesn't matter to passengers how expensive and comfortable are buses.
design achha hai lekin build aur finish nowhere near VOLVO B11R or VOLVO 9400 . . . sleeper cabin layout could have been more intuitive with a few changes and interior quality isn't good either . . . Tata Motors should learn from MAN Lion's Coach line of luxury coaches/buses about luxury bus passenger focused cabin interior . . . which by the way is one of best in the business after VOLVO ofcourse . . . not to mention MAN Lion's Coach stiff & durable reinforced super-heavy duty chassis frame and well sorted air suspension set up second to none by far . . .
I think we can get the feel of the ride, jerkiness, comfort once we travel in this bus. However, I would have liked it to be a Multi-Axle and with rear engine. That would definitely ensure smooth ride, less noise and comfortable travel.

What I am disappointed with this long distant buses ...is no provision for toilets ...that's why I have stopped availing bus facilities ....these companies when they manufacture buses outside India come up with toilets as it is a mandatory provision. Unfortunately I don't see it happening with india nor Indian minister is interested to make such things mandatory. This should be one of the key note of Swachh Bharat initiative

It is powerful in figures , we tested 4 cyl AL in north indian states like Himachal , Uttarakhand , J&K 4 cyl engine just feel powerless , 6 cyl 160 bhp TATA climbs very effortlessly , and AL's SCR system is a very big problem and exhaust system is so badly mounted in front side , 6 cyl is balanced engine . 4 cyl buses are waste in ghat sections in highways sure they are doing well .. 230 hp 6cyl is far better and powerful than heater 250 hp 4 cyl .. I am big fan of AL's BS4 models ...
Irrespective how great these buses look.. Bus operators will add cheap florescent lights, add glass and wood panels around the berths, they will stink of shoe and sock smell ..half time the reading lights and charging plugs won't work... Yes they will charge you full irrespective... Poor state of affairs in road infra & highways is another issue... Try sleeping on the rear end seats and you will break your back 🙏🙏🙏

One of the major problem of AC bus is that internal air is recycled , no fresh air from outside, it gives suffocation.

AC vents on upper berth is eating up headroom..other than that all good.. also no details on storage..
