I think the main difference between domestic automotive industry and Europian/Japanese/Korean automotive industries is Engine, I don't know what is the progress Indian industry made in this sector but a visible improvement has definitely happened. Good for that.
European / Jap / Korean etc make vehicles that get safer with increased speeds and according to their impeccable roads. In India, Vehicles are made to be more cost effective, fuel efficient, often compromising on safety (though recently a lot of cars and trucks have got 4 & 5 stars in Global Ncap which is good). Like this bus won't pass regulations if it doesn't have rear view mirrors. This is pukka a concept. To make it Road legal they will have to change a lot of things in this. So much glass looks premium, but maintaining that glass is another headache. Small chips and gravel from the road can also damage or crack so much glass, that will surely be replaced at production. That lady who said rear view mirrors are at the back is also a huge issue, since rear view mirrors show a vehicle till it's almost alongside the heavy vehicle. Unless they have integrated side cameras (like on tesla's) the "rear video cameras" aren't efficient.
