To be honest, after all he’s sacrificed and all the people who’s lives were taken just so people could see what wonders were on that tape,he’s kind of got a right to be mad that all of it was for nothing.

What I loved about this scene is how its eeriely silent. Just the sound of screams and skittering and slithering. The scene itself felt raw and intense.
One of the reasons why this is my favorite scene in the entire movie is the lack of suspenful action music. There’s no adrenaline pumping music, but instead it’s filled with this eerie, almost depressing melody. So all we can focus on is the characters fighting off the bugs. And when they start to get out numbered, we genuinely wonder how they’re going to make it out alive. This, added with the incredible CGI (for a 2005 movie), is what makes it such a great scene. Because it’s not made to be an action sequence, it’s made to show humans fighting to survive.
Can I just say that, goddamn this scene is powerful. The depths of the pit alone is so deep, the quiet music and the sound design, the way that the characters relentlessly fight for their lives only to be consumed by the bugs, and the pit. Fuck it’s fantastic
The first half of the scene was really creepy. It was super haunting how quiet it was. People were being dragged away with barely a sound. Super eerie choice for a scene.

Can't believe so many people hated this movie... I used to have the three hour version. It is very intense all around. Love the white Snoop Dogg actor as well as BlackJack. That worm scene is one of the most horrifying and saddest things I have ever seen.
I can believe it - at least some people have an adequate IQ. This was a terrible corny mess of a scene. Apparently you can shoot directly at someone with an automatic weapon and totally miss them? The bugs and leeches are all working together? Who thinks of this shit and what type of person finds this even a tad convincing.
I was like 6 when I seen this for the first time, my Dad and I rented it from the Blockbuster down the road. Was that a bit too young? sure but it was still really cool. I liked the cold peter jackson aesthetic. So much about this Film sticks out many years later, I love it so much. my Dad and I also really liked the Video Game for it, it was one of the only games he played with me on the PS2 because we both thought it was really cool :)
Chris Hill Studios have made it a habit now to go with whoever can provide the cheapest, uncredited CGI rather than looking to spend the money on cutting edge artists who can make something that’ll last forever. Shame Peter Jackson could make such beautiful films (LoTR, King Kong) but fall flat on his face with The Hobbit.
I like how instead of putting in really intense action music here, they put in calm nature type music i think it kind of evens out the scene making it a whole lot better than just some scene to creep out people with bug and insect phobias.
Actually, putting action music would decrease the amount of creepiness as it would sound more heroic or action packed rather than dark and creepy. There was no music to intentionally make it creepy and suspenseful. Without music it sets more focus on the visuals and for you to get your own feel, which with the darkness and bugs to create a creepy and dark tone.
I used to imagine myself in movie characters' places to have some fun while watching. When I imagined myself in 3:18,I was very, very scared. I was imagining the helplessness, the slimy creatures creeping around my body, and the fear, and especially when they got the man's face, suffocating him, these things were very scary to see as a kid.
Dude, the worms scene remembered me a lot the creatures from Deep Rising, an old film that some would consider trash, but when you are young, man, those creatures traumatize.

@@CEOofAutism Hello me.
I've heard of people saying "sleep tight", but who the hell says "sleep loose"?
When I went back and watched this in 2014, the whole time I was like, "NO!!! DON'T KILL ANDY SERKIS!!! HE HASN'T WON AN OSCAR YET!!!"
Kind of symbolic that Andy Serkis got consumed by a cgi monster, given that he’s one of the best cgi actors ever
Oh god, I forgot about the Deathworms! This movie is the main reason why parasites are my number one biggest fear.

Can't believe so many people hated this movie... I used to have the three hour version. It is very intense all around. Love the white Snoop Dogg actor as well as BlackJack. That worm scene is one of the most horrifying and saddest things I have ever seen.
White snoop dogg lmao😂
@@flowerpatchtoons1101 I would like to know who this is, so I can drive to his location and tell him how wrong his entire life is.
@@gravitysnegative1962 The resemblance is mainly in the nose.
@Hanan Katari Because I thought he was a decent actor.
After watching this, you understand why the Skull Island natives stay on the coast and spear everything on sight.
It's because of this scene, I didn't watch this movie for a while as a kid. Sad too, since it is one of my favorite films.

Hello! I’m a new subscriber.
Andy serkis probably did the beat acting in this sequence aside from Jack Black he was surprisingly funny in some parts
3:32 this scene haunted me when i was a child
Same! Even now it's still so fucked up
It haunts us all
Man,he deserved to be saved...
Is it had i lowkey want to see an extended version of someone just getting eaten by those just to see what its like when guts start pouring out n shit
Lemme look in the dictionary, hmmmm that thing is called a penis fish
"Kill it!"
-Kid shoots blindly and hits everything except a person
Imp Salazarth how the hell can you shoot with your eyes colsed and hit every bug
The gun must've been made in Canada
Putut Pratama that comment is genius
Damien Wittgenstein ikr, the only time that the gun became malfunctioned is when justin bieber used it
Scott Oesterling Peter Jackson for you
Couldn't help but laugh at Jack Black doing full Dynasty Warriors on the damn bugs. 😂
is far better and scarier than many recent films LOL
The many deaths of Andy Serkis
- falls into lava
- killed by barb wire
- eaten by bugs
- falls from empire state
- cut in half by apprentice
The worst ones are the Barbed wire and the Worms.
Cuz he is just suffering there and screaming in agony.

This death gives me the chills 3:01
Why is this CGI way better than in some of todays movies? 😄 King Kong brought CG on a new level and it still holds up easily
Chris Hill everything was better in the past... now most things are garbage tbh so sad
GasMaskedMidget it really wasn't his fault.it was rushed
the cgi isnt great. The scene works because of the slow pace and the cold yet terrifying music.
Better than justice league tbh
I like how instead of putting in really intense action music here, they put in calm nature type music i think it kind of evens out the scene making it a whole lot better than just some scene to creep out people with bug and insect phobias.
Brandon Mooneyhan They want to creep you out, not stop your heart.
This is why insects are small irl.
PS: My right ear feels lonely. 😔
