"You don't have to do something absolutely amazing, life-changing and be remembered by everyone to make an impact in the world, 'cause you can change one person's life and that's the most important thing"
God, you're such a poet!
Omg hardly but thank you! I have my good moments hahah!
Leah Falcone sure
You are perfectly right..I personally believe you can make a significant impact one life at a time. .Infact, the thing I propose is that each one reach one..That way we make a significant impact exponentially. .

when i saw the title i immediately thought of the perks of being a wallflower and was so happy to see you mentioned it. I honestly think the world would be a better place if everyone read it
***** i personally love how raw the writing is, it makes the whole book more intimate IMO
Brooklyn Hortenstine THANK YOU!! My exact words. I commented this on her last video. I find it very confusing and don't really understand how people are so in love with it but everyone's different. It's just quite messy tbh
magical marshmallow As for me I immediately thought of looking for Alaska 😂
YESSS i thoughtt that too
magical marshmallow anyway how's your sex life
I read "Looking for Alaska" in School too. But the thing is that I'm german and we read it in Englisch class. In my opinion it was written in a very complicated way, so it wasn't that easy to understand. So I was busy with understanding the difficult words and difficult grammar and didn't really get used to the story. I think I'll read it again in a few years.
I knew The Perks of Being a Wallflower was going to be on this list! I loved this book, I read this book in a day in high school and it changed me. I love the movie as well.
what book started your addiction to reading? mine is harry potter :)
mine are harry potter and percy jackson💞
HeyItsPat jaqueline Wilson and Roald Dahl for me honestly. Also the goosebumps series. Such good books TBH
HeyItsPat The fallen series, even though I don't like to admit that! 😂😂
The Saga of Darren Shan. Absolutely adored that series when I was younger.
HeyItsPat The Maze Runner and the Divergent series😀😀😀
I've read all the John Green books you mentioned and I absolutely loved them! And I'm currently reading I'll Give You The Sun which is one of the most beautiful books I've read!

I loved this video! There are so many important messages that high school students can learn from these books!
This is the first video I've seen and I've subscribed because you seem like a great Booktuber. And the fact that you have the DUFF (which is in my top 5 books) just justifys it.

Hi Hailey! Thank you for giving us some guide to what books we are going to buy. You give me an idea. Because I've been planning to buy book for my high school niece. Keep doing what you love! I am a book lover as well but unlike you, I don't have a lots of books. At my age of 34, I think I only accumulate 60+ of books and my favorite so far is from Dan Brown with Robert Langdon as his main protagonist ( pardon if my English is not that good).

2. Looking for Alaska
3. Dumplin’
4. I’ll give you the sun
5. *My heart and other black holes

I loved some of thise books in the past, re-reads in my future...first I have to read dumplin, that sounds cuute!
I absolutely love your bookshelf 😍
Love your videos!!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is and has been my favourite book for years now. I read it in my Grade 12 english class for a book report and it was the first book I couldn't put down. I literally finished it in two days and that surprised me cause i am such a slow reader! (I'm currently reading a book i started a year ago...)
I love your videos Hailey! ❤
Even though I've been out of high school for a couple of years now. I still loved this video :)
I have read Since you've been gone and I'll give you the sun! I absolutely love both of those books, and I think that, as you've said, really make you understand that being different is great and that you should go out of your confort zone more often... One book that I think would fit into this list is Simon vs. The Homo sapiens agenda. It also deals with homosexuality and racism and I personally find it really eye-opening! Your videos keep getting better and better! Xxx
I haven't read Simon yet but it's on my TBR!
I think you'll enjoy it!😃
Great recommendations!!! Thinking of filming this video now haha
Omg!!! I love this video❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow the perfect video
Actually the best advice video for gigh school students thank you so much
I'm from Germany, so I don't know exactly if I'm in the equivalent of a High School, but at least I think so (I'm 17 years old, 11th grade). :D Great video and thank you for all the recommendations! When I read the video title I also thought of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (my favourite book 😍).
Btw, you look really gorgeous as always. :)
Really like your videos!
wow thanks for the recommendation! This books look great!!! LYSM
Coincidentally I'm currently reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower, so I was happy when you included it in this video
I'll give you the sun is such an amazing book i read it at the beginning of summer and it instantly became one of my favorites
Have you ever read "Thirteen reasons why" by Jay Asher?
So I'm in middle school and I'm been attached to Romance, comedy books lately. The authors I like for that stuff are Kasie West, and Miranda Keneally. Is there any other books I should read, or authors I should check out. Someday I may get out of this stage but who knows. Thanks!🤗😚
You have amazing videos!
Great recommendations ❤️
As a high school student I really loved this video and I definitely thought it was helpful.
I recommend Wintergirls for anyone struggling with depression or eating disorders and stuff along those lines, it changed my life for the better

I read Looking for Alaska last year winter, and literally cried while reading. One of my fav books. I actually had a book hangover afterwards!
will you do the "I am the reader" books tag
this is such a great video
The books mentioned are really awesome for High School students, great choice!
The perks of being a wallflower is my favorite book of all time. I read it in my sophomore year of high school and it really taught me that everyone is struggling with something and that I'm not alone in that aspect.
Hey , I am in highschool and what would be some good books recommendations for a high school work class ( not for leisure, but more for work and essays) especially for the last year of highschool
I love your videos so much
I read Perks of Being A Wallflower in my freshman year of high school and it’s my favorite book I’ve read!!
Hey Hailey!! How about doing friendship reads in the future??
Aww I love your videos, xx
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower was one of the most amazing books I've ever read
Since you've been gone will always be one of my favorties
great video! I'd like to do a video like this sometime, I agree with a lot of the books, but two books that would definitely be on there that you didn't mention are The Rest Of Us Just Live Here and We All Looked Up
THE REST OF US JUST LIVE HERE by Patrick Reading Level 4.6 page 317 While Immortals threaten world domination, Mikey is just trying to deal with exams, nurse a hopeless crush, and not freak out about the unexplained blue lights around town.
WE ALL LOOKED UP by Tommy Wallach R.L. 5.6 pages 370 The lives of four high-school seniors intersect weeks before a meteor is set to pass through Earth's orbit, with a 66.6% chance of striking and destroying all life on the planet.
YOU made my day with looking for alaska❤️
Hi! Could you do books to read for middle schoolers? Thanks!
Lovely look
English is not my native language. I’ve read To Kill a Mocking Bird but for some reason I cannot understand it. Like seeing the stars but not the constellations or seeing the trees but not the forest. I want to love it because I’ve heard it’s a great book.
It’s off topic but I’m just worried for some reason. Any thoughts or advice??
Weird Girl actually I'm in the same shoes as you 😥 what to doooo
Winger killed me inside such an amazing! AMAZING story!!
you should totally make a video like this for middle school students!
What is your lip color? I love it!
I love your videos.
Who's the author of Since You've Been Gone?
Really like this video. ❤
And Looking For Alaska is also one of the most influential for me. Maybe you can film other videos about books that can give us positive power. ☺ (Because I really need it now. >_
I love how you describe the books
the perks of being a wallflower is amazing
Your videos are great
Would you be able to maybe make a video of books with lgbtqia+ characters in? I have read quite a few and have some on my wishlist but I'm just wondering if you have any other recommendations as representation is so important
Honestly, I haven't read a ton unfortunately. I need to delve into more, but I find that a lot of books with LGBTQ+ representation are contemporaries and their writing style is one that I tend not to enjoy (like Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and More Happy Than Not). It's that kind of quirky odd writing style that I don't like. But, I do plan on looking more into the other kinds of LGBTQ+ books that are out there because I'm sure there are some that I'd love! (Everything Leads to You for example is one I really enjoyed!) But, long story short, I don't think I've read enough yet so once I do, I will definitely do a recommendations video!
Thank you! I've read a few recently such as Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. If you haven't read soa, I would really recommend it because it is beautifully written and is also very emotional. I've never read the books you mentioned so I'll definitely be sure to check them out!!
