Well this is budo karate, not WKF/Sports karate. Very different from what you'll see in all these sports tournaments. Kancho N. Kanazawa is a true master and his technique is very precise!

If you think that kime is simply a snap - than you're wrong. Traditional karatekas, especially old masters(direct students of Gichin Funakoshi(and their direct descendants)) have not just snap(though speed isn't always important, but in almost any situation is very needed), but very big amount of power in each of their techniques(because they know that kime is not just a snap, it is kinda close to being referred to as "point of final/maximum concentration and a moment when all the power generated by your body comes into a single point and released in one final moment of the technique"). So, my point is: in Sports Karate(kumite) one NEVER releases all of body's power in a single moment and in a single point - in SPORTS karate ONLY SPEED in direct punches is important(and term KIME was westernized, popularized and "modernized" to just a "snap" so that it would suit sports/point karate), because if ALL of body's power is to be released with a true KIME - it would be an INSTANT disqualification!!!(there have been some cases...)
