I Made the Perfect Light to Eliminate Green Screens
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 жов 2021
- Green screens are all over the place nowadays, but The lighting always looks bad... So I made my own Lamp to make the perfect virtual production setup!
Using Unity3D and ARKit on my iPad, I can use it as a virtual camera to directly capture me in my virtual environment.

All jokes aside, that is actually a very convincing lighting effect and this could be very useful in low-budget VFX scenes
all jokes
aside
I think this would be more effective when it's paired with a green screen rather than trying to replace it. great project!
The work Jelle puts in to his videos is just crazy!
Ikr
i was about to say that but u did it before me, ty for doing it this way he saw it...
Really
are you michel jackson?
This man is so smart. And the best part is that he uses his past creations to help in his new videos!
Super creative as always! No clue how you always come up with these awesome ideas. Plus you also have a cool lamp now 😁
Brilliant!
The bit where you made it seem like it scrubbed through the montage was very clever and original. Amazing video!
Honestly I usually don't bother/forget to like people's videos. But Jelle makes me feel compelled to like his videos. The production quality compared to subscriber count is insane. I see people with well over a million subscribers who put a fraction of the effort in. You are amazing and deserve all the subs and likes!
Thanks a bunch!
@@JelleVermandere the effect would be a lot better with a real green screen though, but ya
This is so cool! Cant wait to see more!
Love your videos Jelle, I've been following u since that wind up animal game u made! U deserve so much more recognition for the time and effort you put into your videos. Thanks Jelle
That editing is hella impressive. And that lamp!
Haha I love how this is such a lighthearted video, and it's actually quite technically challenging, requiring a lot of different skillsets and time to pull off.
you have so much skill in bringing projects to life, like each time you explain something you 3d print a prototype thingy and its so well made. Amazing engineering skills. Bravo!
Thanks a lot!
One just have to appreciate the production quality, it's top notch!
Like your production style as much as the project!! Definetely subbing
This is so great, love the ring design and your execution of it was awesome!
I don't know how creatve Jelle can be. This is amazing, WOW.
Absolutely nutty. Inspiring stuff man!
The joy and personality you put your videos is really nice and makes the audience smile too
this channel is just underrated!!!! Great job.
Is there something you cannot do?! Always super creative, but also very technical. Love the vlog skills. 😁
Lots of works, well done. Keep it up
Jelle has given "Let me Explain" a new definition, Awesome Job btw!
Stumbled across the vid. Really engaging and i like the style you edit with. Great video work man
So cool!!!! 😻 I’d like to make this for my room! Is there any full tutorial available for this? Or list of all components used…
This looks so good!
I love this guy so much, I wish he had more subscribers. His videos are so well made!
Dude... you owned my subscription at 3:50, advancing the video. This meta level is what is missing this days.
Loved the effort you put into it mate:)
your videos are always so fun keep it up!
Thanks!
@@JelleVermandere your welcome
you are such a joyful creator! you have way much brighter future than your light fixture for sure
Love the monoprice maker select with the braces
Really awesome build and funny watch! Keep up the great work!
thanks!
Nice compilation. The last points to solve and go!
I swear this guy is going to be the next Dr. Doofenshmirts of our kind
Nice idea! Now I need it!
This is amazing, really creative idea
simply amazing
How about: use a matting screen made from retro reflective material. Use an RGB LED ring light on the camera lens, so you can use green or purple light. After you white balance the camera, the little colour spill on you completely goes away, but the screen is lit evenly and with a super bright key colour. That's only a theory but I think it can work.
This guy deserves way more of recognition for his work 🔥🔥
you could also hook some straight strips on the wall for extra lights, then map them like you map 7.1 speakers about where they are in the room
Respect 🙏 for the work you have put in
Finally.. a new video for me to watch 20 times until the next upload
I know a library that’s just got tons of these rings. The inside side of the ring is the light and it’s a little bit taller but it lights everything well.
you're one smart dude! subbed
you deserve more subs
THIS IS QUALITY
Always love your videos and production
This ended up pretty cool!!!!
I kinda want this now too just because of the lighting
Thanks! It's also just a cool light in my room 😀
@@JelleVermandere exactly
These videos are awesome :D
nice vid! keep it up mate!
Damn keep it up, dees is echt goe gemaakt makker!
Yess, a new video! finally something to fix my day
This is sweet! You need to make a duplicate one to put on the floor, so that things like bounce lighting from the grass could be duplicated
That is just so insane 😍
great video as always!
Thanks!
As an electrical engineer by schooling and a filmmaker by hobby, this is one of the coolest inventions I've seen! Well done!
glad you enjoyed it!
Hey! A MPSM2! I gotta get mine printing good again. This channel's gonna go places.
Ah yes, bolts and brackets, just the right meal for everyone
Very silly and fun video. Seems your skills are in video production, hardware and software combined!
This video is worth a sub!
Why does the "let me explain" music make me feel so nostalgic but I haven't heard it anywhere else?
Ska music has fairly uniform elements across the genre. Probably triggering adjacent Shrek nostalgia. Or any other ska you might have heard.
Maybe it's this that it reminds you of

@@ononb4926 yeah I ain't falling for a Rick roll that easy
I love these videos.
This is awesome
Wonderful
Impressive, i love this man lol
Worth the month wait :D
I just love watching crazy engineering stuff even though I don't understand what they are doing
Ma hoe cool! Ik kom dan eens kijken binnenkort!
Eerst mijn kamer opruimen
This channel is so underrated
it was really cool to see the faint red light above you when you were near the volcano. if it weren't so glitchy this would be pretty useful
Freakin love your channel great video don’t need to see another to subscribe
you deserve more subs and views!!!
Damn... amazing videos
Please never stop making videos! (:
I'm still on it 😀
The result was just woow...
what material did you use for the diffuser??? I am trying to find a good material for my own led strip project. Cool build!
I like this work so much! I would love to make one for my room, do you have some projects of this?
lol that kinda works, i would like to see it though with the green sheet as a green screen and stationary camera
Jelle to the moon 🚀
Awesome!
Would it be possible for implementing so it would change the colours based on your surroundings?
Would be cool!
Very cool
Omg this is so cool. I want to recreate this!
I'm gonna put the source files on github this week
Are the cad files available online? If not how wide did you make the aluminium in the ring? And where did you get the stuff to diffuse the light
Clever Smart Boii
Do you think you could share how you got the lights to interact with Unity, I’ve been looking everywhere and I can’t find anything. Thanks!
You could of painted the inside of the light channel white to get the most out of the LEDs as that black paint is gonna absorb some of the light
kinda makes me wanna do one except i never drilled anything before lol
I'm curious what board you're using for control there! I recognize an espressif module but that doesn't look like anything espressif makes themselves.
Awesome project!! You should consider replacing the arduino with an ESP32 running WLED! It supports multiple segments and has some cool effects built in as well as a cool API
Looks realistic indeed..
amazing
you could used paiters tape to hold the aluminum ring on the cealing
Very cool idea. I wonder if your background removal would be more precise if you hung a white curtain from the light ring, hiding the rest of your background while diffusing the light down your body.
or... you know...
... using a green screen
Affinity designer for planning and part building? This is my kind of channel!
The fact this is done in real time is insane
Finally you're back it's been so long I grew beard now
I hope it's a majestic one
@@JelleVermandere lol
Just 5 minutes ago I looked at these red mosfet boards on aliexpress and now I'm watching this video. In the end I went with an already complete 5 channel pwm smart dimmer though.
Awesome
nice!
Underrated as frick
I think you should put the website on like a remote so you don't need to get your phone out and you can just click a button on the wall or on a desk
Did you give any consideration to the CRI of your lighting?
