Barbara, you are saying to yourself, "What did I get myself into?!" You got yourself into your passion, creative world. No need to worry. You've got this. It's for your brother. It's going to be another amazing, beautiful journal. He is going to love it. He is going to have one of his sister's creations. WOW!!!💖😍
Barbara: this is a mammoth job. What a journal this is going to be. The designs, colors, design: fabulous., not to mention the personal pics and notes. Your brother is going to be stunned. Just picturing his accepting and opening the gift should be videotaped. What a wonderful surprise and gift. Carol from California
I love the color combinations, and the designs you chose for each signature. You really have a sense of design coordination. It's like you intuitively knew when you designed your papers that they would be perfect used this way. Amazing. Take care, be safe.
Thank you for sharing not only the making process but also your thought process. The thought process is perhaps the most important part of any project. Cheers Meg
Oh, my goodness what a project you have before you! But I know with your talent that you will make an amazing keepsake for your brother and his family. What an honor, really.
I absolutely love watching how you created this. Its beautiful. What a work of art. I love this technique of using fabric to put them together. I cant wait to try this myself.
Oh wow!! I feel the pressure with you. These fabrics are so beautiful! I’m glad you got to use so many of them! When I saw your first envelope, I thought, “Oh wow! What a good idea. She can decide how many letters you’d like to put into 4 envelopes. That way you’d have one envelope in each signature.” Nope, 25, TWENTY-FIVE envelopes. It’s going to be such an amazing gift for him. He'll find something new every time he looks at it. It’s beautiful!♥️♥️♥️
Wow, Barbara, you have definitely made a lot of progress and taken a lot of the anxiety away! We all know that this project is only stressful because it comes with your own high expectations and a timeline. You normally work at your own pace, creating hour by hour based on what inspires you as you go along so, relax, this will come together as you get going with the photos! I think chronological would be a pain causing you more stress, not good, give yourself lots of flexibility and time to respond to each page. It will be treasured!💕🇨🇦
I find that sometimes, having to work with constraints sparks creativity you might not come up with when you are free to do whatever you want... This memorybook is going to be amazing!!!
Oh, Barbara... it's coming along so beautifully.😍 I love everything you create. Not sure how you do it. But it's always, very inspirational.💛 Maybe it's just me... but this journal already exudes so much emotion.🥹 Such a labor of love.💗💗💗
Barbara, what a fantastic journal this is going to be. Full of memories and treasures for your brother. He is going to love this. And it will be extra special because it’s made by you! Love watching you create! This is going to be beautiful! TFS! ❤
Oh my goodness! That is great to be absolutely beautiful. It already is. What a special gift you are creating with your gift of creativity. Enjoy and best wishes to you and yours. ✌️🙏🤗💚💚💚
Wow!!! Just, wow Barbara. Not only are you talented and determined, you are bold and brave. I can't wait to see just how much of this stunning creation you will be able to share with us. 🧡💚🤎
It will be wonderful, your brother and his wife will love it! This is a gift like no other. I was thinking at the end of the other video how would be to be found in a hundred years (or more) by someone from your family. Maybe you could hide a note somewhere for them, written by all of you. Absolutely amazing!♥♥♥
I am always SO inspired by your videos. I have a HUGE bin of scraps of my kids clothes that they wore growing up. Most of the clothes that they outgrew were donated but some "special" pieces that they wore for school pictures, I cut into scraps in hopes of making some type of memory quilt (but I'm not a quilter so I've just been procrastinating). I have equal size bins of some of their school work and school pictures and also didn't know what to do with them. With this project of yours, you have solved my dilemma. My 5 kids range in age from 40 to 27. So I better get on it. I know it's going to be a huge undertaking but now I have a vision and a plan. Thanks to you. Continued blessings. 🙏🙏🙏
I think this is my favorite of all of your series! It was so inspiring to see you go step by step, just figuring it out as you completed the previous step. I think it's going to be AMAZING!! You do such great work, Barbara!
I can totally relate to the “aaaggghhh what have I got myself into” feeling that clutches your chest & tummy. Like you I would totally have complicated things by making my own envelopes & adding extra garnishing. Just remember that your project will be what it is meant to be. You know when you try to go in a specific direction & it just doesn’t work that projects do seem to have their own ideas on what they want to be, so just go with it. Your brother will be blown away with all the work you put into it & I’m sure this will become a treasured memory book.
This is phenomenal! I’m so impressed, as always. You often stress and get anxious, but all that stewing around in your head results in you creating something magnificent! 😍 I think he is going to be flabbergasted, and will treasure it dearly. Thanks for all the great inspirations. I love the fabric flap idea for the signatures. Hugs 🤗❤️
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your working processes with us. You are SO creative and inspiring and definitely bring us things "outside of the box". Quite refreshing and enjoyable and different from the average videos involving the same old thing: flowers, (usually pink), roses preferably, the same envelope builds and tags, tuck spots, etc. Your style is exquisite and always something new and delightful. Love you. I anxiously look forward to each new video.
Love this, you did so much work in this video.❤ all the envelopes are perfect for this project. Happy you are not as anxious now. Good start to a fabulous project your brother will cherish!😊
Hi Barbara, I love what you are doing with this journal. I found it difficult to put photo’s in a journal. I don’t know why. I made about 20 scrapbook albums in the past years 15 years. I learned in this process to do formal scrapping. Journaling are more informal and I have trouble to scrap photo’s in my journals. In a way I returned to my formal scrapping in the journal. That is why this journal of yours are very important to me. I hope that I can learn from you how to do the informal way of photo scrapping. I think I am not the only one with this problem. I leave for the UK in a week, for a six months holiday. While I am there I want to make a travel journal with photos . Alternatively In will do a album. I have tried previously to combine photo’s in my journal and I am not happy with the results. Please share all your ideas with us, even if you think it’s an boo-boo 😂.
Love where you went with this. The envelopes were an awesome idea & worked perfectly with the pages you decorated! Just an idea for future projects with the hinge - only one piece needs to be big enough to glue onto both pieces with an overlap, so you could use a smaller strip of the same fabric, or ribbon or lace to the other side to cover up the back of the fabric.
I absolutely want to do a project like this, already love your sister journal. And this one is also going to be great. I am gathering stuff to get started and already received the beautiful fabrics from quilting4you. Actually I want to honour my own sister, who died several years ago. So now I have to find the courage to build the journal itself.... Dear Barbara, thank you for all the things you do, tell and show us. I guess you are a true blessing for a lot of your followers. ❤
Thanks so much! I’m sure the journal in memory of your sister will be very special and beautiful. Once you start, it will tell you what it wants 😊. Trust the process ❤️
Watching this right now, it. Barbara you stress yourself, make many pockets and put lots paper inside them. Oh OK... use an envelope.. you go girl. You got this ... going to be interesting how you get " the look" you desire. Don't take forever😂
Barbara you have been working so hard on the signatures and stunning hand made envelopes, for your brother's memory book. Well done!💮so glad you had a fantastic warm holiday before you started! ☺
Barbara, it’s beautiful so far. Trust your instinct. I just made a journal for my niece and I think we put pressure on ourselves when it’s so personal. It’s certainly worth it in the end. I’m your you noticed but one of your signatures didn’t have a smaller envelope on the outside. That is how you had an extra in the end. It’s wonderful either way. ❤
You are doing a fantastic job 👏👏👏 this book is awesome 🤩 and a lot of work 😅 I believe you found the best solutions👏😍 so excited to see the final 😊 lots of love from Arctic Norway 🥰🏵️🌸🌺🌼🍀
I love the fabrics that you used to hold the journal together. What a great idea. I want to turn my art into fabric and give it frayed edges and make a journal. Thank you.
I'm thinking this is something you've already finished since it's a gift, and you're showing us after the fact so brother will be surprised. It looks beautiful. I keep forgetting about the fabric to attach the signatures. that will be so much better for my books. I do mostly travel and gardening, and nothing folds right in the middle. If you haven't decide yet, I made a scrapbook for my son's going off to college - it was WAY easier to keep everything in groups than chronological. Trips, different holidays, places we visit regularly, each grandparent set got their own layout. Good luck!
I love it already! I know it takes up a lot of time, but once You’ve finished it, you will be so proud off yourself! I made a scrapbook (size 30x30) for my parents 40th aniversary, took me months to compete it, but I loved it and my parents and all off my family members loved it as well
You are doing a great job with the book for your brother and you know you are enjoying it you are very artistic and have it covered. I love this style of placing the pages. Can’t wait to see more.
All so fabulous! I love your channel and gain a lot of inspiration from it. I've been making pockets, tags, envelopes, etc for a few months now and am hooked good. One thing I don't have is a gel plate. I've made my own prints/backgrounds for a very long time just by painting, but think I would love using a gel plate just as much.
Have you thought about attaching the letter to the opposite side of the envelope? That’s a lot of letters to have to pull out individually. Either way this is already so Lovely.
First of all, doesn't your brother watch your videos??? Spoliers??? Also he's veeeery lucky to recieve something i already can tell will be so beautiful! Great work, Barbara!
So easy to get overwhelmed when making gifts 🙈. But recreating what made you happy before is definitely helpful. Oh lovely calm music for my Sunday morning💖. Lol I think that every time I make a gift, the pressure to make it special. But when it's done it'll be perfect. Oh WOW lol mad stitching😍. 👏👏👏so many envelopes! It's going to be awesome and your brother will love and cherish it! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
This has given me some ideas for my anniversary journal. My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year. Our children gave us a "semi" surprise party and we spent the next day doing family pictures professionally! (They had to tell us about it to be sure we weren't traveling but it was in the last few days.) I have a stack about 3 to 4 inches deep of cards I want to bind together. I wish I had saved the envelopes but this has gotten me to thinking of other ways to bind them together and add other pages for the photos. TFS 🤩😍😍❤
oh my goodness, Barbara, This is such a labor of love! It will be a treasured family heirloom for generations! wow.
Thank you! ❤️
Barbara, you are saying to yourself, "What did I get myself into?!" You got yourself into your passion, creative world. No need to worry. You've got this. It's for your brother. Oh it’s beautiful. I think you are so genius! I hope you do share the finished project. Thanks Barbara! ❤😊
Barbara: this is a mammoth job. What a journal this is going to be. The designs, colors, design: fabulous., not to mention the personal pics and notes. Your brother is going to be stunned. Just picturing his accepting and opening the gift should be videotaped. What a wonderful surprise and gift.

WOW! What a nice person you are by showing your brother so much love by doing this project.
I love the color combinations, and the designs you chose for each signature. You really have a sense of design coordination. It's like you intuitively knew when you designed your papers that they would be perfect used this way. Amazing. Take care, be safe.
I can never find the right words. I just know how she, her methods, & the final results make me feel.🥹
You've said it so well.💗💗💗

I love that! 🤩🤩
TFS 🤩😍😍❤
So happy this was helpful! 😊
love this journal 🎉 you are doing an amazing job. You have inspired me to try this, love fabric and paper combinations ❤
Yay! Thank you! 😊
