So a few interesting facts (yes I'm answering more than asked): 1. It's a factory mod, not something I cooked up in my garage 🙂 2. The balance horns you see places weight in front of the hingeline, which is how flutter is prevented. 3. The previous elevator, and in fact also on the Kitfox up to the 7SS have no balance horns and thus no weight in front of the hingeline and no way to prevent flutter. 4. The weight and design of the elevator and the low speed these planes fly are not conductive to flutter on the elevator, hence no weight in front of the hingeline added by Kitfox or KFA. The flaperons on the other hand are known to experience flutter close to VNe, which is what that little balance arm on the flapperon is for, placing weight in front of the hinge line.
Intereating information. Hope you will be happy with everything you have done by way of upgrades.
Can't say I'm unhappy with any of these upgrades, but some more valuable than others.
Good stuff.
How did you clear the larger elevator for flutter?
