Preflight and Flying the Kit Fox IV

- This video is about the Kit Fox IV. We cover a walk around preflight and then go fly the airplane. The aircraft that was suppose to shoot the air to air video kinda had some technical issues so we had to scrap most of that flying. If you are looking for a airplane to own then this may be it. The Kit Fox is a great flying aircraft and very affordable. Feel free to watch my other video's on many different aircraft.

this is bad ass. I would love a plane like this. love it!!
Nice video. The Kitfox is a good time.
Great vid!!!!!!! Been looking for a good Kit Fox IV
Great video, thanks !
Thanks for watching.
Dewey, great video! Keep ‘em coming.
The Kit Fox is a lovely aeroplane and has a vintage style look about it too,you showed us here how simple it is to operate from your delightful Deweys aerodrome with its inviting green grass strip, love the bumble bee colour scheme too which suits the machine very well,if I lived closer then I would be out there helping you look after your barnstorming biplanes and enjoying the atmosphere.
I like that Prince P-tip prop !!! I'd just take the doors off for summer putzin' around the area flying.
Cool video Dewey! I love my Kitfox IV. I approach at about 40mph with flaps to land short.
Still beats working in an office (think cubical vs. sky).
Amen... flying is the best.
You are a real unique enthusiast Dewey, thank you for sharing your passion for flying with us all.
Quick question, I fly a plane with a rotax 912 and it has a throttle lever, not a push type throttle. What are you doing when you are twisting the throttle knob? Is that just like small throttle movement? I see all you guys doing it and have no idea what you're doing.
The kitfox was originally designed to use the 2 stroke Rotax engines. 2 stroke engines vibrate alot more then 4 stroke engines like your 912. For that reason the throttle lever was designed with a lock system and a small increment increase system. The lever can be moved in and out just like your lever, but because the 2 strokes vibrate you'd find your level moving out some as you flew, your rpms would drop over time. So instead of pushing the lever you just twist the knob and it moves the lever in or out in small increments. See you rpm dropping a little? Just give a few turns of the knob to the right to increase your rpm.
@@WerewolfSS1 Wow, thanks. I kind of had a feeling that's what it was.
@@kevinbutler9786 Typically there are two types of throttle cables used on Kitfoxes with a 912. Either the twist lock or the vernier cable. With the vernier, you can push the button on the face of the knob and move it in or out, or twist the knob to move a smaller amount at a time. I have the Vernier in my Kitfox 4 and much prefer it.
Great little video. I fly one in the west of Ireland. Nice little plane.
Great video. I am in Dayton and want to build a kitfox or the like. What was chapter are you guys? You guys know anyone building a plane around these parts?
Grass runway, no control tower, good times - everything you need
The air to air video was great !!!!

Nice show off and ride Dewey glad you enjoyed yourself and hope you also enjoyed your dinner afterward :)
