SunkissAlba, your curls are so beautiful! I'm biracial (half black and half Puerto Rican) and I have curls, but they're not as defined as yours. In fact, my curls look like yours did when you first started your channel. Maybe if I fed my hair and my body as well as you feed yours, they might get better.
You are right no two curly heads are alike. My niece has a similar texture to your hair and she's been trying to figure out how to get her natural curls to pop. Going to have her try this method. Thanks for sharing
Unbeknownst to me, I've been using the LOC method for the past 2 yrs I've been bringing my curly hair back to life. I use the It's A 10 leave in or healthy sexy hair leave in, coconut, Argan, or keratin oil, and curly cream from Redken, tresemme, Paul Mitchell or DevaCurl. All depends on what I have on hand or what I feel like that day. I've been a "scruncher" my whole life but after watching your videos I'm going to try twirling my curls. My hair journey has gone really well, and I feel like you've held my hand the entire way. Thanks, girl!
Thank God you posted this, my sister and I were discussing yesterday what to use because this NYC winter is soaking all the moisture from our curls and we have to moisturize our skin alot more as well. Thanks Alba
tried the l o c method for the first time after conditioning overnight w/coconut milk and olive oil. my curls look really nice!!! and my hair feels LOVELY. thank you for this video.
So ever since I have followed your method my hair looks healthy every day I love it!! Thanks for all these hair damage treating methods it really has helped
I use this method all year long, just with different products. I use heavier oils and creams in the winter. It has made a HUGE difference in the health of my hair.
i totally envy you curls cant wait to use this but i love and use this method i searched high and low for a winter curly hair routine and this is the best. love you thanks
TFS, I've been using this method just didn't have a name for it but thanks to the Natural Hair Community there is a name for everything, the colder months seem to affect my skin more than my hair!
I live in Virginia and it is freezing and I'm like you Alba. I hate the cold and winter except for when it's snowing. This past winter has been particularly cold and my hair and skin is just so dry but I'll use your tips. Thanks so much Alba! I aspire to have hair as soft and curly as yours
Thank God for you Alba. My hair lately doesn't have that bounce or volume like it did in the summertime. It all started when winter started. So, I'm going to try this out and pray it works because my hair is not happy at all. Thanks again.
i just love love love your channel. i can say it is very helpful im trying the curl routine and can admit that i have just been waiting and watching my hair for the last year, and it made it seem so long and dreaded. But now i like doing my hair and i feel good to know im helping my natural hair. oooow and thanks for the alima demo LOVE their products line fav ,makeup ever lol
Oh my gosh!! I'm so glad I find your channel!! I have wild curls and years ago gave up straightening my bangs. What a revelation that was, now if I could get away from coloring it. My hair is a naturally dishwater blond and I dye it a much lighter shade of blonde. Someday I will be bold 😊. Thanks for your great info!
I live in northern michigan where it hasnt stopped snowing since before thanksgiving..the air is very dry here so I pay extra attention to my lips and skin! For my hair I wash weekly bc I cant go longer and I use the loc method to style my hair and ive just been doing protective styles!! Coconut is my favorite oil also..so many many uses! Grt video and congrats to you and your husband!
Your videos are truly a life saver. I'm nicaraguan and my husband is black. We have a daughter together and her hair is so much like yours. Thank you for the tips because I am able to apply these techniques to my daughters hair :)
I love this video, you always give me new ways to do my hair! Since I've started twirling my hair it looks so much better and this video showed me how to part my hair with out an official 'part' and it looks so much more natural and fashionable. Thank you for all the hard work you out into these videos!
I just moved from Boston back home to Puerto Rico and my curls are completely different. I have a lot more volume in PR and they are just more alive. Humidity is good to me.
Very pretty hair! I love the tip about the front part and getting more volume. I'm gonna try this loc method, been hearing about it but didn't even know what it was.
As a fellow New Yorker, I'm learning that the LOC method is working for me...I apply my Leave In, Oil (a bunch of oils I mix together) and Cream...than I do flat twist & 2 strand twist...I try to keep my head covered (usually the "Badu" wrap...I spritz my hair 2 daily...very lightly...with water, moisturizer and a tiny bit of water...which I put in a spray bottle...shake...than spritz on the root...length and ends...I only wash/deep condition/condition and repeat the LOC method once a week...I cannot do Wash & Goes and keep it healthy during the colder season...as it grows longer. Love the videos, God Bless You 💚💚💚
It's -30 degrees Celsius here, yesterday -36. It's cold!! Thank you for tips, you are a blessing to many. Congrats on your marriage. Happy holidays sweetie. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family. Ohh I'm in Montreal
I am not too crazy about winter, unless it snows and melts the same day!! But I do love your tips in how to keep your hair looking good during this time of the year.. Thanks Alba and I will try to find this products and give it a try!!
I washed and conditioned my hair with Shea Moisture 10- in 1 Renewal System and followed this LOC method for the first time with Coconut Hibiscus hold and shine moisture mist, coconut oil and Curl enhancing smoothie. And today my hair AAHHHMAZING. And I agree whomever came up with this method is sure is GENIUS!
I love your videos! They are super helpful especially since I am starting to take care of my hair as naturally and organic as possible. I used to have really healthy defined curly hair but with years of using chemical products and flat ironing, it's all dull, weak and with straight/wavy random strands :-( I know it will take time to repair my hair but I'm excited, please keep the videos coming!
I live in North Dakota it's been below freezing the past few days between -1 to -22 degrees, on a good day like yesterday it was 35 degrees which is perfect! I keep my hair in twist & use shea butter or other heavier butters. Anything with glycerin in this type of weather makes my hair very dry & brittle. Also I love how just a simple scrunch forms such perfect curls on you.
Thanks for this! I leave in Louisiana and this has been one of the longest and coldest winters I've ever experienced in my 25 years. lol. My hair HATES it more than I do. Since its so cold, of course we sleep with the heaters on. When I wake up, even though it is wrapped in a silk bonnet, my hair is extremely dry. I've been waking up early to basically do a dry deep conditioning almost every morning. So the LOC method will definitely be a life saver for me.
I live in Toronto (same weather, same cold). I have lived here most of my life (aside from beginning in Connecticut - still the east coast, lol), and I have never been a fan of this bone chilling cold either (bring back summer!). I loved this winter curl method girl! xx
I live in Alaska. The winter is always dry and cold here! I'm trying to grow out my natural hair. I'm going to try this method and see how it works. Thanks!
I love your hair it is gorgeous just like you are! I use the lock method and I use all shea moister products....I use shea moister hold and shine mist then coconut oil and then shea moister smoothie
in the bahamas our winter is pretty hot..we just get that ocean breeze. so thankfully i can pretty much keep my routine the same but the cooler air does make my hair a bit softer :) i'll definitely be trying this! love you alba
California Just yesterday it hit almost 80 degrees then the next it's low 70's So now im try to put back moisture I also just tried "Deva Curl three step system ....its awsome But im for sure going to try your curly method Thank you!!
I am in love with your curls! I live in the upper midwest, and the wind and cold.. makes it about.. -6 or so.. well it feels like it, as a result my hair is flat..and frizzy. I will try this method for a few weeks as soon as I find a nice oil for my hair.. my hair doesn't seem to agree with coconut..
when I work out, I put my hair up high in a scrunchie and loosely braid the ponytail, and secure the end with a hairband or smaller scrunchie, and sometimes wear a headband to keep loose pieces off my face and neck (but my hair layers have gotten much longer so I don't need to). Then I can easily refresh it afterwards but I don't have to get it completely wet again and catch pneumonia waiting for it to dry.
I am also in New York......I am your twin. Do not like winter and it just takes the bounce, moisture and fun out of my curly hair. Will definitely try this method. You are the best. Thank you for this video and the others.....smiles
Oh my God Alba I am in love with your hair it's so pretty !! You have given me so many tips, thank you! And here in San Diego it's crazy one day could be really cold ( not like in NY ) lol and the next day could be warm again so my hair needs hair masks more than once a week and more conditioner abc more oil I am loving the Macadamia deep mask and the healing oil !! Love your curly hair tutorials !
Hi Alba! Just want to let you know your curly hair videos are amazing....thanks for all the tips and info. I'm Salvadorian and have hair like yours and you have helped me out a lot with my curls ;) xoxo
Leave in/Liquid moisturizes hair. Oil seals the moisture. Cream is styling product. For any for you that are confused ;)
So envious of your lack of tangles! You have the best curls. Hands down!
Your curls look awesome girl!!

You are seriously so beautiful
You are right no two curly heads are alike. My niece has a similar texture to your hair and she's been trying to figure out how to get her natural curls to pop. Going to have her try this method. Thanks for sharing

Unbeknownst to me, I've been using the LOC method for the past 2 yrs I've been bringing my curly hair back to life. I wish my curls were more defined like yours! I have a looser curl! You are so beautiful!
Thank God you posted this, my sister and I were discussing yesterday what to use because this NYC winter is soaking all the moisture from our curls and we have to moisturize our skin alot more as well. Thanks Alba

The weather here has been in the 40's-50's so I haven't had to change up my routine too much. I absolutely love your curls!
I loveee the Curl souffle! Smells amazing and it works so well. You hair is so pretty!
Your curls/coils have gotten so much tighter it looks sooo pretty!
I've been doing the LOC method and I love it. Since I live in Montreal, Canada and it's very cold, this method really helps my hair.
I just have to say thank you alba!! Your videos literally saved my hair after I damaged it!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
So happy that you are back doing videos! Hope that you had an amazing wedding! Thank you for sharing all of your tips! I love all your suggestions!
So ever since I have followed your method my hair looks healthy every day I love it!! Thanks for all these hair damage treating methods it really has helped
Beautiful and your hair looks so healthy
I use this method all year long, just with different products. I use heavier oils and creams in the winter. It has made a HUGE difference in the health of my hair.
I love your hair sooo much! I wish my curls looked like yours!
I'm always surprised at how big and curly your hair gets as it dries. Love it!
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!! You don't even need gel or any holding product for your hair.
i totally envy you curls cant wait to use this but i love and use this method i searched high and low for a winter curly hair routine and this is the best.
