Thanks to everyone who joined the stream, and who caught it later! I'm planning to put together a decent sized release themed around this Miami Vice/Jan Hammer/GTA inspired idea, but it will take a bit of time, and I don't even know if it would be just an EP or a full album, but I think I'll properly focus on this for a while and is a nice break from my usual ambient stuff, which I was getting a little tired of! (I'll get back to that though).
I’m curious about the guitar noise with synth, how?!
Damn. Missed this one. Like the idea of a full albums worth.
It's mostly down to Guitar Rig 6 on a basic synth sound (pwm/pulse) with a bunch of FX after@@twogranolabarsandabeer4921
I’m really looking forward to that, I’m hoping it’ll be an album or an EP that lasts a whole evening.
Seriously though I absolutely adore City Limits. Does Jan Hammer know such an epic reinvention of Crockett’s Theme exists, I’m sure he’d love it!
I’m saving this for a rainy neon evening, gotta get that mood just right 😎
Music to my ears!!! Pun fully intended!
When the world is running down.
State makes the best of what's still around.😊
The start is very Lethal Weapon!😎🤘🏻🖤
Yeahhhhhh!!!! 🤩🤘🔥 this is amazing!
Glad I clicked on this. It's great. I have my preferred channels for soundscape/ambiance music and rarely venture out. Glad I did with this one. 👏
Care to share thoes channels?
I'm lookin to soothe 😊
I would LOVE a City Limits Pt. 2, it's a marvellous piece of music. 💙
exciting times when you upload a video mate
There are a couple of great hooks in this.
So delighted others got lost in here too.
Couldn't catch it live unfortunately but just listened to it and what a treat. Absolutely beautiful State thank you.
I've been listening to this at work everyday. So awesome. Thank you so much!
I find my self coming back to this video again and again. I need this as album 😁
I'm a huge fan of Jan's and especially the Vice soundtracks he did back in the day. I own the entire collection of his Miami Vice music.
You pay him great homage with your composition and I would purchase any form of this kind of music that you may do in the future. An album would be heaven sent!😎
Love the Miami vibes. Thanks for sharing.
do love the way the notes are showing up when you play them
Excellent music .
Working this morning with it in the BG
Very relaxing and a great way to start a Monday
Settling in...looking forward to this!
Nice relaxation time for a Monday morning before the mayhem starts 😂. Would be great as an album as well
Great vibe!
WONDERFUL holiday gift 🎁 thank you Azure! ❤
What a great set. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Perfect soundtrack for cruising in my 91 MR2 or 92 Celica GT-Four.
Glad you liked it!
¡Maravilloso!
awesome!!
This is sick af ❤ ❤🏆
This is soooo good!
Very beautiful!
Fantastic !
I'm enamored by the track that starts at the 1:41:00 minute mark. Are all of the tracks (especially the layering tracks at 1:49:00), used in it prerecorded, or are some of them quantized (I hope I'm using that term right) through a gate sequencer of some sort. They just like they're randomized using a Bernouli Gate or something since some of the timings feel very randomized.
I'm new to electronic music production, so it's very interesting how you can go about things from very different approaches to get similar results.
EDIT: I was able to go back and watch the video instead of just listen, and ended up watching you put every new track in in real time. All the more impressive and amazing as always. Cheers!
I played/recorded the parts live during the stream into Clips (MIDI loop clips), there's nothing really random happening, except maybe the ratchetting on the rolling bass arp. Some of the stuff I recorded live was quantized to 16th or 8th beats, sometimes quantization was turned off for a more loose/ambient feel. Clip lengths are somewhat random though, since I mostly didn't bother to check when I stopped a clip recording, so some clips could be 12 bars, or weird numbers like 13 bars long, 14, 15, 25 etc..Often with my more ambient stuff, I tend to record those clips at arbitrary lengths to create interest/variation. It's nice to have several clips running at weird lengths.
@@stateazure Yeah I noticed that you didn't care about the length of each clip. I think that's a reason why I find what I'm doing so stale at the moment. I've been forcing everything into an 8 or 16 bar phrase and it makes it feel very cookie cutter and boring. Thanks for the reply!
great
Great channel, I've been enjoying it for two years I think, I would like to know if some of these tracks are free to use? or if you intended to make free to use? One day
Thank you! None of these are/will be free to use, or at least that's not the plan. I'd like to take the best ideas here and make a proper release. Any tracks I don't end up using, could be potentially useable, but I can't really say at this moment.
@@stateazure I understand.
Longtime subscriber here; I like your work! (and "liked" this"). RE: MIami Vice, you're probably swamped with things to do - but - please do consider doing much the same with Tim Truman. I find much of Truman's music for season 5 (the final season) was really inspired, and would be really interested to see what you come up with. A little harder edged and more David Gilmour-influenced than Jan Hammer IMO.
Thanks! Unfortunately I don't know Tim Truman's music at all, it would be difficult for me to capture his style I think. I'm much more familiar with Jan Hammer.
You need your own station on GTA 6.
EXellent should i say as usual !!
May i ask where do those Jan Hammer guitar sounds come from (Sample library dedicated to him or regular gtr ones tweaked ?)
Interested also in bitwig hence i'm analysing stuff lol instead of only listening lol
Testing literraly as i type , already stressed abot the monitoring options (i have 2 outputs with room correction so i have to do track gymnastic ) adn track management( hide tracks ect ... ) is inexistant ?
Thank you! The Jan Hammer lead guitars are various synths through Guitar Rig 6 and Rockguy

Better than the original
Crazy how Andrew 3000 gets rewarded for making amateur noises but azure been making beautiful sounds and no recognition
