Many thanks MH team!! I have old Fedwick rod that chipped off the bottom butt and cork. I plan to replace it using the steps in this video and convert a cheap Ugly stick spinning setup from foam full winn grip!!
On the crushed rod butt blank section I’d cut square the remplacement insert, match up the insert blank spline and the rod spline and sand a bit the insert tip just to take the sharp edges off the avoid splintering
I fix tips the same way except I find a tip that I can slide through the blank from the butt section pull it untill it's in there right slide the section of broken tip onto the blank you slid in there t he trick is to find a piece of blank that is ever so slightly a little less in power then the piece that broke I've gotten so good at it that you can't even tell the difference user tip if the insert as well call it isn't from a quality blank don't boat flip with it cause it'll break again if it was a quality piece of blank insert and you wrap it and flex coat it it's usually good to go
Grab a pair of digital calipers. Guides are sized according to their metal rings inner diameter. (not the inside of the ceramic ring). Use the caliper to mic the frame and that will be the size of the guide you need.

I do the best with the guide still on it and only hear the epoxy on top of the guide foot then shave it with the blade and it feels right off

How do you know what size guides you need to replace?
