I’m surprised the guy who stabbed himself didn’t get arrested. He was literally chasing his wife around with a knife. Its going to take a lot redeem this character. The fact that they play off this whole thing with comedy is ridiculous.
It's unfortunate that the repulsive values, whimsical behaviour and grievances in a marriage are romanticised. Strong Chinese family values are lacking.
Before marriage you have to make crystal clear what your expectations are. I told my gf who is now my wife that she can have a career but her priority must always be taking care of the husband, children and household. She agreed and so we got married.

My wife agreed to be the gatekeeper of the house while I provided for the income. The agreement is based on mutual consent. There are women who choose to have a career over motherhood. That's their prerogative. Likewise one should also respect women who have voluntarily agreed to be a full-time housewife.
But people don't stay the same permanently, they grow and change as the years go by, and if their partner can't adapt and change with them, things fall apart.
Same here. It's hard to empathize with her because without knowing why she's divorcing him and refusing to tell him, it seems like an arbitrary and cruel action her part. It seems like the cheap kind of punishment, like giving someone the silent treatment without telling them what they did wrong.
